https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374739 --- Comment #1 from Edward <edward.l...@gmail.com> --- apt-get shows that kdenlive and melt was upgraded. Kdenlive: 16.12.1 MLT: 6.5.0 The aspect ratio in the video is back to normal, which is nice, but it still doesn't render. I'm guessing it might be melt. Is kdenlive not finding melt, or is melt refusing to do its job without telling kdenlive what the error is, or could this problem be deeper? [kdenlive] [Bug 374739] New: Video shrunk and not rendering
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374739 Bug ID: 374739 Summary: Video shrunk and not rendering Product: kdenlive Version: 16.12.0 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Video Display & Export Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: edward.l...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 103282 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103282=edit This is what I see when I load this project. Ok, this is a very strange thing that has happened... Yesterday I was working on a video and all looked ok, but when trying to render it it would immediately say "Rendering finished in 00:00:00" and never produce a file. I tried all manner of formats, even a series of PNG exports, but nothing. It was anyways late so I decided on shutting it down and maybe starting it fresh tomorrow would solve things. But things seem to only get worse... Now the wide-screen video has gotten an aspect of 4:3 and ended up in the middle of the screen as if I had a 800x600 video in a 720p project. Also, the rendering still refuses to work. The video clip is from a JVC HD camera that calls the file .MTS and I've had no problems with it in the past. /Edward Kdenlive: 16.12.0 MLT: 6.5.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 372020] Ungrouped clips don't stay ungrouped.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372020 --- Comment #4 from Edward <edward.l...@gmail.com> --- Ok, I saw an update for Kdenlive (16.08.3) and thought I'd see if the issue was taken care of. Sadly, it had not. However, I thought I'd try something. I ungrouped the clips and tried shifting the audio. I could not move it. I then tried to shift the video and I could shift it. Taking a risk I shifted it a few seconds, saved and quit. When I re-opened the project the clips were ungrouped and in their last saved positions. At this point I could also shift the audio clip. But when I returned them so they aligned, saved, quit, and re-opened they were grouped again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 372020] New: Ungrouped clips don't stay ungrouped.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372020 Bug ID: 372020 Summary: Ungrouped clips don't stay ungrouped. Product: kdenlive Version: 16.08.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: User Interface Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: edward.l...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- At one point I group clips so that I can keep things synced. But then I want to apply effects (like volume) so I ungroup the clips and apply what is needed. But when I save, close, and re-open the project the clips are still grouped. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdenlive] [Bug 372018] New: Volume adjustments not working
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372018 Bug ID: 372018 Summary: Volume adjustments not working Product: kdenlive Version: 16.08.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Effects & Transitions Assignee: vpi...@kde.org Reporter: edward.l...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Can't adjust the volume on a clip. I add Volume (keyframable), and in its properties I click the + and I get my marking. I adjust the volume for that and it shows on the clip as well. But when I listen the volume hasn't changed. I save, quit, and re-open my project and the marking is gone. I try to do it again but this time it won't stick. But that isn't the only one. When I add the Volume (keyframable) and try to add the adjustments by double-clicking on the clip itself, I get the mark, and I can drag it, but it won't stay at that level. If I drag it below the clip it vanishes all together. Not sure if that is intentional, but I would expect it to stay at the bottom and call it "mute". Also, would it be possible to also have a "percentage" meter? I just don't know what 5% of 0dB would be... -55? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[korganizer] [Bug 352228] Sending invitations to mail addresses formatted as follows fails: "some...@example.com" <some...@example.com>
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352228 --- Comment #7 from Edward Viesel <edward.vie...@bornepost.eu> --- The bug is still active in Kubuntu 16.04.1 (KOrganizer Version 5.1.3) Today, I noticed that KMail/KAddressbook display a similar syntax error: If I send an e-mail with the following address: John Example <some...@example.com> And do a right click on the address in KMail and click on "Add to address book" (German version: "Zum Adressbuch hinzufügen"), the confirmation window that confirms that the address has been added to the address book displays the following wrong syntax for the (perfectly correct) address: <"John Example" <some...@example.com>> So I assume the superfluous angle brackets are quite deeply embedded in KOrganzier. The end result in KAddressbook is perfectly correct, though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmail2] [Bug 365119] KMail 2 does not add distribution lists/contact groups from KAdressbook properly (simple word, not addresses)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365119 --- Comment #2 from Edward Viesel <edward.vie...@bornepost.eu> --- I found a similar bug in KMail2 (version 5.1.3): For a client, I imported into a a clean install of Kubuntu 16.04 some groups as an LDIF file that had been originally created under "The Bat" under Windows (exported from there). Everything went fine, even the German umlauts (ö,ä,ü) were imported into KAdressbook properly. When I do a right click on a group in KAdressbook and choose "Send an e-mail", a window in KMail opens, and all the group members with correct names in the format FAMILY NAME, FIRST NAME are displayed, followed by the correct e-mail address in angle brackets. When I open a new e-mail in KMail and select the group after clicking on the button "Choose" (or perhaps "Select") on the right hand side, I can choose the group and the group members are added (unlike in my own personal instance, as described above), but the name is wrong: It takes the form of "FIRST NAME /" (i.e. the first name followed by a forward slash [I think, I haven't got it before me; either "/" or "\") instead of the family name). The e-mail addresses are all correct. As I said, in KAdressbook everything looks fine, and this is also a workaround: simply create a new e-mail for the group from KAdressbook, not KMail. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmail2] [Bug 365119] KMail 2 does not add distribution lists/contact groups from KAdressbook properly (simple word, not addresses)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365119 --- Comment #1 from Edward Viesel <edward.vie...@bornepost.eu> --- Just an additional comment: the discussion on the Google Group https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/de.comp.os.unix.apps.kde/QzS0WQqwywk mainly turns on the question if the addresses in KAdressbook are "legacy" addresses (or address books) or have been newly created. I would say that my addresses fall in the "legacy" category. But I have created new sub-books to "Personal Contacts" and created new lists/groups therein, and this did not work either. But then the whole "Personal Contacts" book could be in a "legacy" folder or using "legacy" protocols or something. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmail2] [Bug 365119] New: KMail 2 does not add distribution lists/contact groups from KAdressbook properly (simple word, not addresses)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365119 Bug ID: 365119 Summary: KMail 2 does not add distribution lists/contact groups from KAdressbook properly (simple word, not addresses) Product: kmail2 Version: 5.1.3 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: contact completion Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: edward.vie...@bornepost.eu CC: dvra...@kde.org, mon...@kde.org I have distribution lists (sometimes called contact groups) set up in KAdressbook. This include a small number of e-mail addresses under a recognisable name (e.g. neighbours). I click on "New" (e-mail) and go to "choose" (or "select", the German is "Auswählen") on the right hand side. A window pops up which contains my KAdressbook ("Personal Contacts" book). When I click on a single e-mail, the correct address is added to the KMail address field. But when I select a distribution list (or group; "Gruppe" in German), KMail simply adds the name of the group without e-mail addresses. If I click on "send", KMail adds "@USERNAME.desktop" to the name of the group. Unsurprisingly, this e-mail does not get sent and returns an error message that the address is faulty. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open KMail an click on the New button 2. To to the Select (or Choose) button on the right hand side. 3. Select a distribution list (or group) from your Personal Contacts book. 4. Click on "Send" Actual Results: KMail simply adds the name of the group without e-mail addresses in one single address field. If I click on "send", KMail adds "@USERNAME.desktop" after the name of the group. This e-mail does not get sent and returns an error message that the address is faulty. Expected Results: KMail should add all the e-mail addresses on the list (in the group) in separate address fields and send the e-mail to all of the addresses. The mechanism works if I start the procedure from KAdressbook. I right-click on the name of the list (group) in KAdressbook and choose "Send an e-mail" (German: "Eine E-Mail senden..."). Even if KMail was closed, it is then started and a new e-mail appears with all the adresses added correctly in separate address fields. This is also a simple workaround that always works. It seems some user experience this problem, and others don't. See: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/de.comp.os.unix.apps.kde/QzS0WQqwywk I would label this bug as "normal", because normal users without knowledge of the workaround will simply be unable to send e-mails to lists/groups, which in my experience is a vital feature of a standalone e-mail application. It's one reason to use KMail/KAddressbook in my opinion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 356225] Panel moves to wrong screen when external monitor is connected
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356225 --- Comment #110 from Edward Oubrayrie <edoubray...@gmail.com> --- Testing as requested in #104, with Neon (kwin 5.6.4+p16.04+git20160608.0034-0, qt 5.6.0+dfsg-2+16.04+build5) on a Dell E7450 (Intel Skylake laptop) and I can mostly confirm #108: In the following experiments laptop=eDP1, and the external panel (HDMI1, FullHD) is set as main screen when connected. * Panels added on eDP1 when alone (i.e. main) will move to the HDMI1 (main) when connected. * But they almost always will not go back to eDP1 when HDM1 is disconnected (only the first time). Restarted plasma-shell or logging out/in will solve the issue. * A panel defined on eDP1 when it's secondary screen (i.e. HDMI1 is connected) will disappear when HDMI1 is disconnected (OK!) but then reappear on HDMI1 when it's reconnected. * Restarting plasma once HDMI1 is disconnected will also bring back panels from both primary secondary screen. * Sometimes the panels stand in the middle of the (higher-res) screen when I connect it, until some/time/action (not sure). I could live with it though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

There is no way to recover without moving the cloned folder ot of the project. kdevplatform: 55a80426005d6b9d8949209dd1009333b96cc843 kdevelop: 6be8bc2a3f5b1a7836685ea53b751e6db285fb5c kdev-css: 375248c99c1179937dbf5a8a119504a456e84c41 The crash can be reproduced every time. -- Backtrace: Application: KDevelop (kdevelop), signal: Segmentation fault Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1". pthread_cond_wait () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/pthread_cond_wait.S:185 [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0x7f8e62207800 (LWP 26621))] Thread 17 (Thread 0x7f8e60c01700 (LWP 26622)): #0 0x7f8e7abe63ad in poll () at ../sysdeps/unix/syscall-template.S:84 #1 0x7f8e6f52aac2 in _xcb_conn_wait () from /usr/lib64/libxcb.so.1 #2 0x7f8e6f52c72f in xcb_wait_for_event () from /usr/lib64/libxcb.so.1 #3 0x7f8e62110cb9 in QXcbEventReader::run() () from /usr/lib64/libQt5XcbQpa.so.5 #4 0x7f8e7b2c3ed2 in QThreadPrivate::start(void*) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #5 0x7f8e74582444 in start_thread (arg=0x7f8e60c01700) at pthread_create.c:334 #6 0x7f8e7abef36d in clone () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:109 Thread 16 (Thread 0x7f8e525d0700 (LWP 26623)): #0 pthread_cond_wait () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/pthread_cond_wait.S:185 #1 0x7f8e5b5e4373 in radeon_drm_cs_emit_ioctl () from /usr/lib64/dri/radeonsi_dri.so #2 0x7f8e5b5e3ac7 in impl_thrd_routine () from /usr/lib64/dri/radeonsi_dri.so #3 0x7f8e74582444 in start_thread (arg=0x7f8e525d0700) at pthread_create.c:334 #4 0x7f8e7abef36d in clone () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:109 Thread 15 (Thread 0x7f8e47203700 (LWP 26626)): #0 pthread_cond_timedwait () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/pthread_cond_timedwait.S:225 #1 0x7f8e7b2c4518 in QWaitCondition::wait(QMutex*, unsigned long) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #2 0x7f8e78d063c8 in KDevelop::DUChainPrivate::CleanupThread::run() () from /usr/lib64/libKDevPlatformLanguage.so.10 #3 0x7f8e7b2c3ed2 in QThreadPrivate::start(void*) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #4 0x7f8e74582444 in start_thread (arg=0x7f8e47203700) at pthread_create.c:334 #5 0x7f8e7abef36d in clone () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:109 Thread 14 (Thread 0x7f8e44db2700 (LWP 26627)): #0 0x7f8e7abe63ad in poll () at ../sysdeps/unix/syscall-template.S:84 #1 0x7f8e73bdaeec in g_main_context_iterate.isra () from /usr/lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0 #2 0x7f8e73bdaffc in g_main_context_iteration () from /usr/lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0 #3 0x7f8e7b4bbd5c in QEventDispatcherGlib::processEvents(QFlags) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #4 0x7f8e7b46d90a in QEventLoop::exec(QFlags) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #5 0x7f8e7b2bf524 in QThread::exec() () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #6 0x7f8e7b2c3ed2 in QThreadPrivate::start(void*) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #7 0x7f8e74582444 in start_thread (arg=0x7f8e44db2700) at pthread_create.c:334 #8 0x7f8e7abef36d in clone () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:109 Thread 13 (Thread 0x7f8e3bfff700 (LWP 26629)): #0 pthread_cond_timedwait () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/pthread_cond_timedwait.S:225 #1 0x7f8e7b2c4518 in QWaitCondition::wait(QMutex*, unsigned long) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #2 0x7f8e7b2c1354 in QThreadPoolThread::run() () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #3 0x7f8e7b2c3ed2 in QThreadPrivate::start(void*) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #4 0x7f8e74582444 in start_thread (arg=0x7f8e3bfff700) at pthread_create.c:334 #5 0x7f8e7abef36d in clone () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:109 Thread 12 (Thread 0x7f8e2e1bb700 (LWP 26646)): #0 0x7f8e7b4ba171 in QTimerInfoList::updateCurrentTime() () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #1 0x7f8e7b4ba565 in QTimerInfoList::timerWait(timespec&) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 #2 0x7f8e7b4bb8ac in timerSourcePrepareHelper(GTimerSource*, int*) () from
