[lokalize] [Bug 477366] New: Lokalize does not support "ast" locale in some parts

2023-11-22 Thread Enol P.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477366

Bug ID: 477366
Summary: Lokalize does not support "ast" locale in some parts
Classification: Applications
   Product: lokalize
   Version: 23.08.3
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: sdepi...@gmail.com
  Reporter: en...@softastur.org
CC: aa...@kde.org, sha...@ukr.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 163361

Two translation memory windows where "ast" locale is sneaky

SUMMARY
***
For years, I was aware about this bug but I just ignore it because it was not
affecting my workflow until now. For some reason, Lokalize misses "ast" locale
in various parts of the app making impossible, for example, to manage memory
translations correctly.

I think Loklize assumes that "as" locale is the ISO 639-1 code for Asturian but
this is very wrong, Asturian has no ISO 639-1 code, only ISO 639-2.

However, if translation memory is automatically created by Lokalize, "ast"
locale appears magically.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to create a new translation memory
2. On "Target language", see there is no "ast" locale

OBSERVED RESULT
"ast" locale appears inconsistently across the app

EXPECTED RESULT
"ast" locale should appear across the app consistently

Summary: Lokalize unable to list files and folders on NFS drive
Classification: Applications

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

 Component: general

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
I have an NFS drive mounted on my system where I store all translations. Since
2 weeks ago, Lokalize is unable to list all folders and files on that drive. I
tried to see what fails but I don't know where the problem is.

However, projects, files and folders on local storage work just fine.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Mount an NFS drive
2. Open a project located on a NFS Drive
3. Wait to see nothing happens

OBSERVED RESULT
Lokalize is unable to list all files and folders on a NFS drive. The progress
bar located on the bottom left of the window makes no progress, it is always at
0%.

EXPECTED RESULT
Lokalize should be able to list all files and folders on any NFS drive.

Bug ID: 411021
Summary: KDE Connect fills RAM up when sending big files
between PCs
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: common
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com

SUMMARY

KDE Connect stores files into RAM when they are sent which causes out of memory
conditions. However, the file transfer keeps going despite of sender's PC is
locked up until finish. Not tested from PC to Android devices

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Send a file which is larger than your RAM amount
2. See how RAM memory is filled up quickly
3. The transfer continues but the sender's PC is locked up

OBSERVED RESULT

Locked PC when sending files larger than the amount of available RAM.

EXPECTED RESULT

Upload should be managed differently in order to avoid PC locks due to lack of
RAM memory available.

It would be nice if Lokalize included some method to setup automatically the
translation environment to start working on the translations as soon as
possible. If you don't understand what I'm saying, here's the detailed
explanation:

User starts Lokalize for the first time
Lokalize prompts to the user if he/she wants to setup a KDE-l10n project
User agrees and Lokalize starts asking some questions (locale that is going to
be used, git or svn integration, id_rsa authentication key, rol of the
translator, download glossary if locale has it... etc) to configure the
translation environment
User has his/her locale ready to translate in a easy and quick way

Something like that

[neon] [Bug 366431] New: áÁéÉíÍóÓúÚüÜ cannot be typed in any KDE app using Asturian language and keyboard

2016-08-04 Thread Enol P . via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 366431
Summary: áÁéÉíÍóÓúÚüÜ cannot be typed in any KDE app using

The key combination for typing áÁéÉíÍóÓúÚüÜ does not working by setting "España
- asturianu (ast_ES)" locale and "Asturian (Spain, with bottom-dot H and
bottom-dot L)" keyboard layout in any KDE application, GTK applications work
fine with it. On the other hand, Ḥḥ, Ḷḷ and Ññ Asturian letters are typed
correctly in KDE and GTK applications.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set system locale to "España - asturianu (ast_ES)" in Regional Settings
2. Set keyboard layout to "Asturian (Spain, with bottom-dot H and bottom-dot
L)" in Input devices -> Keyboard -> Layouts
3. Open any KDE app and try to type any accented áÁéÉíÍóÓúÚüÜ using the correct
key combination

Actual Results:
áÁéÉíÍóÓúÚüÜ are not showed in any KDE app. If you try to write one of them,
they are shown as aAeEiIoOuUuU

Expected Results:
áÁéÉíÍóÓúÚüÜ must be showed correctly using the correct key combination

I didn't test it on KDE 4 but probably it wouldn't work neither. However, I
reported a similar bug to OpenSUSE (as you can see here
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/415114) and it seems to be fixed but i
cannot check it because they didn't update the related packages at the moment.

This annoying (and maybe critical) bug prevents me to use my PC, and coordinate
and update Asturian translations on KDE...
