I can't reproduce it today. Works for me on phonon-qt5 4.11.1 and
phonon-qt5-vlc 0.11.3. Unfortunately I genuinely can't remember anything about
the issue I was having seven years ago.

(In reply to Erica Clawson from comment #2)

Let me note, regarding specifics to Arch Linux, I use only the stable repos and
haven't had to reinstall my Arch/KDE setup in over six or seven year until now.
I am not one of those typical "Arch update broke my system" users.

I had the same issue. Libical was 3.0.15. Problem started after updating KDE
to 22.08.2, also on Arch. A fresh Arch install, however, has no problem. Only
one which already existed before the KDE update. I never found a solution in
the two days since I updated, and unfortunately because the update also broke
my monitor setup (also working fine in a fresh install) and I use kalarms for
very important medications I've had to give up and just start using the fresh
install as my daily driver.

[dolphin] [Bug 428161] New: sorting by size always puts folders first regardless of settings

2020-10-23 Thread Erica Clawson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428161

Bug ID: 428161
Summary: sorting by size always puts folders first regardless
of settings
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 20.08.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: view-engine: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: blargle.rageq...@gmail.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I am trying to sort a folder in dolphin by file size, with "folders first"
deselected, similar to how filelight would sort the files and folders.
However, no matter what settings I use (including checking the button for
"folder size displays" "size of contents") the folders remain first even when
their filesize is smaller than that of individual files.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. sort folder by file size, descending
2. uncheck "folders first"

OBSERVED RESULT
small folders remain before large files

EXPECTED RESULT
folders sorted by combined file size among large files

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux [extra]/plasma-desktop 5.20.1-1
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0
Qt Version: 5.15.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
folder used only contains folders which do not contain other folders

Georg, I noted in my original description that I use the vlc backend. Bugs in
the gstreamer backend should have no effect on my setup.
