Currently there is no mechanism that I'm aware of to either make explicit groups for payees or organize them logically using specific payee tags. This feature would be useful to generate reports/view payee groups like list of all tenants, certain business groups/vendors, utilities providers, health providers etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 450927] Equities with zero balance option does not work

I doubt > that these are equity accounts but can think of them being investment > accounts. Equity accounts are always sub-accounts of investment accounts. > > And a probably unrelated question: why do you have the same (investment) > account name multiple times? You are right, they are investment accounts I did not create the same accounts multiple times. had imported the data from GNUcash, but I believe it works the same way as it does in GNUCash i.e. if you trade the same investment in multiple brokerage accounts, it creates a separate investment account under each of those brokerage account, rather than using a single reference investment account (Quicken handles it differently), probably the result of a double accounting as each 'account' probably needs to be 'unique', just my guess. There is no option to 'close' or hide these accounts per se so my home page shows every investment ever traded in my file, with most of them zero balances. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445467 Hamdsa changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |REPORTED Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |--- --- Comment #6 from Hamdsa --- I installed the latest master version for windows "kmymoney-master-1349-windows-msvc2019_64-cl" Apart from the slow over all responsiveness of the program, the issue of app crashing on duplicate transactions still exists. Further testing revealed the crash does not happen simply at the time of duplicating itself but rather when you try to change the copied/duplicated transaction. Meaning if I duplicate the transaction and leave it as-is (with today's date as the default on duplication), the transaction stays in the register. If try to change the date on that transaction, the app crashes and the duplicated transaction is gone from the register. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I am in the ledger view and trying to duplicate an existing transaction, while only changing the date of the transaction. The first duplicate operation seems to go through fine but if I try to duplicate the same transaction again (for a different date), it crashes. I tried with multiple transaction and same results. [kmymoney] [Bug 441857] Online Banking Setup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441857 --- Comment #17 from Hamdsa --- Just curious, is AqBanking no longer supported within KMyMoney or the functionality is somehow incorporated in the native flows? There was an explicit option to Configure AqBanking under the windows version 5.0 available on the download servers, but both the current master and the stable version lack any AqBanking config. options. Also there was the AqBanking plugin in the prior version which is also not present in the current stable and master builds. As a side note, the display of totals of sub-accounts (an important functionality) only works for the current master build, none of the prior versions display the totals of sub-accounts. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmymoney] [Bug 441857] Online Banking Setup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441857 --- Comment #15 from Hamdsa --- Still trying options to get it to work. I downgraded the version back to Stable Windows version 5.0.6 Interestingly, the account map menu has two options which are not available in the current master release (OFX Importer & KBanking) Tried OFX Importer first but the initial call to download the bank lists hangs on the following screen: Loading Banklist Getting list of banks from https://www.ofxhome.com/ This may take some time depending on the available bandwidth Even left it overnight but no luck. The Kbanking option didn't work either as it seems to only give option to map existing app accounts to online accounts (there are no online accounts available currently to map to). With respect to the the doc link below https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/kmymoney/kmymoney/details.impexp.ofx.html It states OFX Direct Connect are supported in KMyMoney but to enable this feature, you must compile KMyMoney with the --enable-ofxbanking switch (now the default). I hope this is the case with the windows version I'm currently using. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 441857] Online Banking Setup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441857 --- Comment #14 from Hamdsa --- Sorry I should have added to my description that I was using the manual method to attempt the connection, so basically what you have recommended. I noticed that the default automatic method within KMyMoney for most banks I tried had the message below that it didn't support online banking, which I know was not correct, so I opted for manual connection. The initial entry of the URL's and corresponding KMyMoney message that the bank supports online stmts etc. at least suggest that the URLs are recognized for the connection. I don't recall the successful connection method for Citibank, but at least I can confirm that for both Chase bank and credit cards, it's currently working in GNUcash (using Aquabanking). After the initial call is sent after entering my credentials in KMyMoney, I do get a message in my chase online account profile that I need to authorize the access from desktop software, which means the initial call is successfully reaching Chase. However, after I click on the authorization link within Chase, where it says it's successful and I should be able to access my account info, I still get the message within KMyMoney that no suitable accounts exist, which makes me thing it's the post-MFA flow that is somehow not working, at least for Chase. However, that doesn't explain why it isn't working for other banks like AMEX which doesn't have the similar MFA flow as chase. My AMEX connection is also working within GNUCash, and despite replicating the settings using the manual connection options, it didn't work for me. Someone earlier mentioned that connection to Chase was working for them, but not sure if they were using the windows version like me, or I'm simply missing something here. Thanks for your help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 441857] Online Banking Setup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441857 --- Comment #9 from Hamdsa --- Sorry my bad, I meant User Name and User ID. But it's still pretty confusing when you think about what the institutions are expecting in those fields. I suspect due to varied implementations across various institutions they are simply 're-purposing' some fields which do not necessarily correspond to or define what they actually are supposed to be. The link I'm referring to is below: https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct_Connect_Bank_Settings#Citi_Credit_Card As you may notice, many instances have the same issues (some banks completely ignoring some fields, others accepting/expecting different values etc.), hence the need for an institution-specific config. document like this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 441857] Online Banking Setup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441857 --- Comment #7 from Hamdsa --- I have noticed that (at least) for Chase account setup on gnucash (as well as online documentation) both user Name (which is to be ABA routing number) and User Name (regular web login ID) are required but in KMyMoney, there is only single field of User Name. Does anyone know how I can replicate the GNUCash working settings to KMyMoney on Windows (any import config capability/plugin etc.) Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 441857] Online Banking Setup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441857 --- Comment #6 from Hamdsa --- Despite repeated tries, I'm unable to get it to work in the Windows version for Chase. I tried using stable version 5.1.2, stable branch and master branch, none of them helped. Though master branch is the only one that resolves the issues of displaying totals for sub-accounts (separate issue). For online banking setup with Chase, there's an initial 'secure message' in Chase profile asking you to confirm your connection with the following message title: "Action Required for Quicken or QuickBooks users" which I completed successfully. However it still doesn't work within the KMyMoney software. This mean that the initial call to Chase is going through, but I suspect after this step, there might be some additional communication back from Chase which is not being handled properly by KMyMoney to recognize this 'multi-authentication' step. Someone mentioned OFXplugin for online banking setup, are they available for Windows version? I didn't find any listing for that under the plugin options within the software. I tried connection options using almost all available versions of Quicken (simulation), using both Header 102 and 103, but no luck. As stated in my earlier posts both Chase and AMEX worked in Quicken as well as GNUCash. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

So far I have tried the following institutions, none of them worked in KMyMoney. Chase Bank (Credit Cards & Banking) AMEX (Credit Cards) Discover (Credit Cards) All of them worked in Quicken 2020 (and prior versions too). Chase also worked in GNUCash. I have tried using the default settings, as well as changing the Header settings to v. 103 as suggested in some online posts, and changing the quicken simulation version to different values. I also tried to replicate the Chase settings, using manual option in online setup, that didn't work either. I'm using UUID v4 using generator here: https://www.uuidtools.com/generate/v4 Would be happy to do more testing if there are other suggestions to try other config. All connections attempts have similar outcome During setup, it displays Does not support online banking at bottom screen After connection, it displays error No suitable accounts were found at this bank. I went ahead and downgraded to KMyMoney Version 5.1.2-499b3cfc7. Got much better results. About 1900 consistency checks errors related to posting date being earlier than account opening dates, vs. over 3000 with the latest version. The big change was that I am able to modify the account opening dates and proceed with the clean up now vs. before where it was stuck. It also imported a number of payees, doesn't seem like it's everything but still better than none which was the case with prior version. I'm going to manually start cleaning up the data. [kmymoney] [Bug 441690] Totals for accounts, categories and subcategories
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441690 Hamdsa changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME --- Comment #4 from Hamdsa --- (In reply to jesse from comment #3) > Adding to my previous post: > > I can see the 'Total Value' not the 'Total Balance'. > > As far as 'Total Balance', I cannot see that for neither the Parent or > sub-category/account. > > In case that helps. Thank you for your help. I am indeed using the Accounts view. Yes, collapsing the sub-categories helps and I can see the Total Value on the Parent account/category once collapsed. However, Total Balance is not available even in the collapsed state. Both 'Balance' and 'Total Value' are available for individual sub-categories/accounts for me when it's expanded (and the total value on the parent changes to zero as soon as the tree is expanded). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmymoney] [Bug 441696] New: QIF Import not importing Payees
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441696 Bug ID: 441696 Summary: QIF Import not importing Payees Product: kmymoney Version: git (master) Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: importer Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: ham...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I have over 20 years worth of data in Quicken that I'm trying to import via QIF files to KMyMoney. I have tried multiple times, using multiple selections within quicken (Individual accounts, selected accounts, various import options i.e. security list, memorized payee list checked etc.) but none of the import the payees. I get all the accounts listing and transactions but none of the transactions have any payee for 200+ accounts. When I go to Payee section, it's blank. I'm using KMyMoney Version 5.1.80-b29cd34c4 on Windows 10 Pro. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT No Payees imported via QIF files EXPECTED RESULT Transactions with Payee Info SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 441694] New: Ability to Tag Accounts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441694 Bug ID: 441694 Summary: Ability to Tag Accounts Product: kmymoney Version: git (master) Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: ham...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY While there is an existing capability to tag individual transactions, I think adding the ability to tag at the account level can really increase the user experience as well as adding entire accounts (with all their transactions) in a single click tagging operation. This functionality can potentially be used to tag 'Business accounts, Personal accounts, Rental accounts, etc.' and have the reporting readily available for those accounts without extra config. required. This will give an additional reporting dimension than just reporting those accounts based on their nature (Asset, Liability etc.) It would also help with legacy data where whole accounts can be tagged without going through each individual transactions. Both capabilities can co-exist, similar to multiple tagging options for individual transactions. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT No ability to tag at the account level EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 441691] New: Nested Tags and Display of Totals
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441691 Bug ID: 441691 Summary: Nested Tags and Display of Totals Product: kmymoney Version: git (master) Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: ham...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY >From another bug ID, it seems nested tags have been implemented, but within the software the only option I see under tags window are New, Rename and Delete Tags, without any option to display/configure hierarchy, as allowing nested tags really bring out the true value of tagging through various hierarchy views of your existing financial data. First question, are nested tags implemented and supported in KMyMoney on windows platform? Second, it would really be useful to display totals/sub-totals for such 'Tag Hierarchy' views on a single page, without having to create separate reports based on the tags. Since each transaction can have multiple tags, there might be duplication of reporting in the display under tags hierarchy views, but that's OK since the users can organize and view the same data from different 'lenses' as they wish, the primary objective of the tags. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT Availability of Nested Tags Display of Totals, Sub-totals for Hierarchical Tags views I'm using KMyMoney Version 5.1.80-b29cd34c4 on Windows 10 Pro SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 10 Pro macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 441690] New: Totals for accounts, categories and subcategories
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441690 Bug ID: 441690 Summary: Totals for accounts, categories and subcategories Product: kmymoney Version: unspecified Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: ham...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I was going to request this as a feature request thinking it was the normal behavior in KMyMoney to not display the totals for the categories and subcategories, but Bug ID 438750 implies, it's possible to display such totals in the the account view. I have imported all the data using QIF files, while I have some problems with modifying some accounts, none of the accounts/categories show their respective totals when I put them as sub-accounts/categories under a single parent hierarchy. The sub-accounts are displaying the balances, but the parent account is always showing 'zero' balance. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT The parent account/category is showing zero balance EXPECTED RESULT The parent account/category to display the total of its sub-accounts/categories. [kmymoney] [Bug 441658] Unable to Modify Imported Accounts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441658 --- Comment #4 from Hamdsa --- (In reply to Jack from comment #3) > First, or those accounts which show this problem, do you actually see a > transaction in the ledger prior to the account opening date? > > Next, when you reassign a split in one of these suspect transactions, is > there a correct/real payee in all of the splits? Is that transaction date > prior to the account opening date? All the problem accounts have the opening date equal to the date of the import, resulting in all transactions in that account technically falling prior to the account opening date. The transactions appear in the ledger but I'm unable to edit them in the corresponding ledgers giving me the error that the date of the transaction is prior to the opening date. For the second question, like I mentioned, the QIF import did not import any of the payees. All ledgers display the following columns (No, Date, Description, Increase, Decrease, Balance) i.e. No Payee column. Not sure if that's the default/normal behavior. While I would ideally liked to have the payee information transferred, I'm OK if that's not possible. Also, if it helps since the error has the same reference number as the original error relating to account modification, any time I try to duplicate ANY transactions, I get the following error: Unable to duplicate transaction(s) Details Unknown payee ID: P000258 C:\_\9b0777e7\kmymoney\kmymoney\mymoney\mymoneyfile.cpp: 1742 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmymoney] [Bug 441658] Unable to Modify Imported Accounts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441658 --- Comment #2 from Hamdsa --- (In reply to Thomas Baumgart from comment #1) > Very strange problem. Could be the result of the QIF import, though. The > opening balance transaction should not have a payee assigned (which seems to > be the case in your environment). Which version of KMyMoney are you using? > > Try the following: > a) open the ledger of the account > b) edit the opening balance transaction and remove the payee information > c) save the transaction > d) try changing the date again via the account edit dialog Thanks for your prompt response. None of the transactions carried any payee information from the QIF import, so there is no payee information to remove for the opening balance transactions. The strange things is out of the 200+ accounts that were created, only some have this problem and others seem to reflect the opening dates/balance/behavior fine. The only common thing I have identified so far is they are all part of the split transactions. So I have also tried to 're-assign' the parts of transactions referencing these trouble accounts to newly created ones, but for some reason it still won't let me save the transaction, giving the error that the date of the transaction predates the account opening. I'm using the Version 5.1.80-b29cd34c4 on a Windows workstation/desktop. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
