[kpat] [Bug 192453] kpatience displays winnable and not-winnable for (nearly) same game state

Demo solver bug for kpat 3.6

This demo shows the bug. Steps to reproduce:
1. Open kpat and load the attached file. The solver says: solvable.
2. Drag and drop both king cards onto the target (foundations). The solver
says: not solvable (which is wrong).
3. Drag and drop both king cards onto any of the play tiles. The solver stills
says: not solvable. This is wrong and shows that the solver did not even try to
solve it.
4. Revert the last move (using the menu or the short cut). Now the solver says:
solvable (which is correct).

It seems that there are two bugs: The solver does not consider it a legal
action to move a card from the target to a play pile, and it does not start the
solving algorithm after each move.

The result is still the same.

[knavalbattle] [Bug 434591] New: In single player mode computer's game algorithm fails on neighbouring ships

2021-03-18 Thread Hatto Von Hatzfeld
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434591

Bug ID: 434591
Summary: In single player mode computer's game algorithm fails
on neighbouring ships
   Product: knavalbattle
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: roney...@gmail.com
  Reporter: ha...@salesianer.de
CC: kde-games-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In single player mode computer's game algorithm fails on adjacent ships

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start single player mode
2. Place 2-, 3- and 4-field ships parallelly on neighbouring fields
3. Play the game

OBSERVED RESULT
When the computer player hits different ships on two neighbouring fields it
gets confused, i.e. it does not sink all of the ships already hit.

EXPECTED RESULT
The computer player should sink all ships which it has hit before.

Bug is not as rare as one might think

In a user defined (costumized) game setting the bug may occur more often. So it
is desirable to fix it.

improved version file qml/logic.js

Substituting the file logic.js (in my case located in /usr/share/knetwalk/qml/)
solves this bug. This is an improved version which avoids to create unnecessary
new nodes (and memory leaks).

No new compiling needed, so this can be done even by beginners.

Should work in versions at least from 15.04 to 16.12, probably more.

This is a feature, not a bug. :-)

Your "solution" simply is not a solution, since six nodes alias monitors (more
or less in the upper right part) are connected with each other, but not with
the source alias router.

I can confirm this bug. Neither connecting nor disconnecting a node causes the
node icon to change. In former versions (KDE 4) this used to work.

I have forgotten one thing: After editing index.theme it may be helpful (or
even necessary?) to execute this in the same folder/directory:
gtk-update-icon-cache .

My workaround:

cd /usr/share/icons/breeze

Edit index.theme and delete all not existing folders in the line starting with
"Directories="
With other words: Replace that line by the output of:
t=`ls -d1 */* | tr '\n' ','`; echo Directories=${t%,}
