https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422625 --- Comment #6 from Ilya Bizyaev --- I suspect there's some KWin bug still involved here since the issue occurs when the effect shouldn't even be triggered and persists for the whole session afterward. [kwin] [Bug 422625] KWin randomly becomes terribly slow
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422625 --- Comment #4 from Ilya Bizyaev --- > Do you see some other unusual things, e.g. high CPU usage, etc? No, as I mentioned, all observable resources are fine... But I managed to find the reason: the issue was somehow caused by a popular KWin script called Parachute (https://github.com/tcorreabr/Parachute). Disabling it fixes the problem for me, and re-enabling returns it. I don't know though if it's a bug in the script or in KWin itself. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 422625] KWin randomly becomes terribly slow
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422625 --- Comment #1 from Ilya Bizyaev --- Replacing KWin seems to also help now; didn't help earlier, maybe is somehow related to x11 downgrade. [kwin] [Bug 422625] New: KWin randomly becomes terribly slow
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422625 Bug ID: 422625 Summary: KWin randomly becomes terribly slow Product: kwin Version: 5.18.90 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: bizy...@zoho.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY After random periods of time after session start, KWin decides it's a photo frame and starts producing a slideshow :) It's not a hardware issue (unchanged), not a kernel bug (unchanged), not a Mesa or X server bug (updates reverted), not a lack of resources (CPU, GPU and RAM stats are all fine). Re-login into the session helps but is very annoying. Replacing KWin doesn't help, yet killing and starting it again seems to. Started after an upgrade from 5.18.x to 5.18.90. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. I wish I had them, but seems to happen fairly randomly. I had a feeling it sometimes correlates with window resizing or launching chromium-based software, but I'm unsure. Just using the computer for 5-60 minutes is more reliable. OBSERVED RESULT The whole session feels like VNCing over a slow connection EXPECTED RESULT Usable session at all times :) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.1 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0 Kernel Version: 5.7.0-3.gad96a07-default OS Type: 64 bits Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz Memory: 15,3 Gb RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION When the problem occurs, there appears to be a consistent slow paint interval. It seems to not affect window decorations and effects sometimes, and it doesn't affect the mouse cursor, but it always affects window contents. If all windows are closed, Plasma behaves smoothly, too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmail2] [Bug 412579] kmail notifications should take you to the actual email when clicked
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412579 Ilya Bizyaev changed: What|Removed |Added CC||bizy...@zoho.com --- Comment #23 from Ilya Bizyaev --- > Why it's complicated to click on a button ? Because you need to enable this button first; and it's hidden under 5 levels of nesting, which is not feasible to find for an average user. > For you each feature must be activated by default ?! No, only those that make sense to enable by default. Clickable notifications are something that users of most mail clients out there are used to, so coming to KMail that requires them to open the app by hand every time they see a new message coming, along with a ton of other inconveniences all over the welcome experience, they think KMail is fundamentally flawed. If I was paid for explaining how to enable at least the buttons and why we can't have clickable notifications, I'd be rich by now :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416993 --- Comment #3 from Ilya Bizyaev --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > In 5,18, GTK apps should be using the same font that you've got configured > in the fonts KCM. Is this what you're seeing, or are they using some random > different font? They are using a random different font. (In reply to Mikhail Zolotukhin from comment #2) > > gtk-font-name="Some Font Обычный 13" > In the newest kde-gtk-config from 5.18 branch there should be comma after > "Some font". If you add comma after "Some Font", would the font in GTK apps > become the one, that is expected? No, and I thought that I am doing something wrong because editing both ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini did not affect the font that I saw in `gtk-query-settings | grep font` and apps. But then I tried using GTK theme previewers in System Settings, and they are able to detect the correct font... in a weird way. The font used by the GTK3 previewer depends on whether on not the GTK2 previewer has been used since the last GTK app launch. Plus, all this seems to affect fonts used in the KCM itself... (I attach the recording) All this is pretty weird to me, but I hope this helps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[systemsettings] [Bug 416993] New: Update to Plasma 5.18 resets GTK font configuration
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416993 Bug ID: 416993 Summary: Update to Plasma 5.18 resets GTK font configuration Product: systemsettings Version: 5.17.90 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_fonts Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: bizy...@zoho.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Likely a wrong component, but GTK apps now use a font different from what was configured in System Settings before the upgrade. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Configure a custom font for GTK apps 2. Upgrade to 5.17.90 3. Open an app that respects GTK configuration (Firefox, Inkscape) OBSERVED RESULT A different font is used EXPECTED RESULT Users' font configurations are preserved SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.1 KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 Kernel Version: 5.5.0-1.g3f183bf-default OS Type: 64-bit ADDITIONAL INFORMATION In ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini, I see a suspicious line: gtk-font-name="Some Font Обычный 13" where "Обычный" is "Regular" in Russian. There is likely some undesired i18n going on, though changing the font in those config files seems to have no effect. Still, gtk-query-settings reports gtk-font-name: "Some Font \320\236\320\261\321\213\321\207\320\275\321\213\320\271 13", so that's the most likely reason IMO. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
