The fact that the iso is mounted under the section [Devices] instead of [Removal Devices] is expected. As you have noticed, maybe it would be more logical to put it under [Removal Devices]. [systemsettings] [Bug 446916] KCMs flicker and reload when the cursor passes over their QQuickWidget
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446916 --- Comment #9 from Kwon-Young Choi --- Ah, I'm sorry, after going back to the settings app, what I've noticed is that the list of settings category on the left-hand side of the app does not flicker, but some kcms like "display and monitor" -> "display configuration" does flicker (a lot less than the other laptop though) but not "display and monitor" -> "compositor". After switching scaling factors, the problem seems to get a little bit worse, and even the left-hand side list starts to flicker. Restarting the settings app seems to resolve the flickering of the list but not the rest. Committed on 28/03/2021 at 07:03. Pushed by elvisangelaccio into branch 'release/21.04'. BackingFile property should be use with StorageVolume instead of StorageAccess When mounting an iso with `udisksctl`, first a loop device is created `/dev/loop0` then a second device `/dev/loop0p1` is used to mount it on a filesystem location. Querying for StorageAccess devices sometimes only returns the `/dev/loop0p1` device without the `/dev/loop0` device and the BackingFile property does not work on `/dev/loop0p1`. Solution: query for StorageVolume instead which returns all loop devices: `/dev/loop0` and `/dev/loop1`. Warning: Because StorageVolume returns more devices, the function `getDeviceFromBackingFile` could be a little bit slower. The downloaded iso file uses the `.mdf` extension which seems to not be recognized as an x-cd-image file. If I rename the file with a `.iso` extension, everything works as intended. So the problem is not with the plugin itself but with the handling of the mimetype of the file. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[dolphin] [Bug 431704] Dolphin cannot mount some iso's

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428962 Bug ID: 428962 Summary: Fail to mount the same iso file twice Product: dolphin Version: 20.04.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: plugins: ISO mounting Assignee: kwon-young.c...@hotmail.fr Reporter: kwon-young.c...@hotmail.fr CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The MountIso plugin fails to mount the same iso file a second time after mounting and unmounting it. This leads to an unresponsive dolphin for 10 seconds. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. mount an iso 2. unmount an iso 3. mount an iso OBSERVED RESULT Dolphin freeze during 10 seconds. The iso file is not mounted. EXPECTED RESULT The iso file mounts immediately. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0 Qt Version: 5.15.1 Kernel Version: 5.9.3-1-MANJARO OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-7820HQ CPU @ 2.90GHz Memory: 15.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 630 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Both the latest dolphin on manjaro and dolphin built from sources exhibit this behavior. Interestingly, udisksctl does not have this problem. So, I compared the dbus calls from mountiso and udisksctl and found that udisksctl does not set the read-only option on the loop-setup call: http://storaged.org/doc/udisks2-api/2.8.4/gdbus-org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Manager.html#gdbus-method-org-freedesktop-UDisks2-Manager.LoopSetup After removing the read-only option in the mountiso plugin, the mount works as expected. Ok, so this is the expected behavior. The idea is that the "Mount" and "Unmount" entry on the contextual menu of the ISO file act as if you physically inserted or ejected the CD-ROM. It would be nice to be able to remove the unmounted iso file from Dolphin's Place pane directly but it is much more difficult to implement for me since it involves modifying Dolphin's code. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425319 Kwon-Young Choi changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|NEEDSINFO Resolution|--- |WAITINGFORINFO --- Comment #1 from Kwon-Young Choi --- Hello, First of all, the mountiso is just a frontend to `udisksctl` which means that if the iso is not mounted correctly, it is probably because of `udisksctl`. On my machine, I tried to create an HFS/Joliet iso image using `mkisofs`: ``` $ mkisofs -o test.iso -R -J -hfs test ``` where the `test` directory contains a single file. But I was not able to mount this iso using `udisksctl` (but `fuseiso` and `mount` worked). So I have the following questions: * Can you mount your iso file using only `udisksctl` commands? (you can use `udisksctl loop-setup -f image.iso` to create a loop device and `udisksctl mount --block-device /dev/loop1` to mount the loop device) * Could you provide an iso file with which I could reproduce your results? [dolphin] [Bug 424413] "Mount ISO" feature doesn't mount an ISO image if "Enable automatic mounting of removable media" option is unchecked in Removable Devices kcm
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424413 --- Comment #1 from Kwon-Young Choi --- Hello, Currently, this is the expected behaviour of the Mount ISO plugin. In order to mount the ISO file to a directory, you have to manually click on the new entry created in Dolphin. However, I completely agree that the default behaviour should be to automatically mount the ISO file to a directory but it is a little bit trickier to do. I have already proposed a merge request to do this: https://invent.kde.org/sdk/dolphin-plugins/-/merge_requests/8 but it is a little bit hacky and I'm not sure the maintainers will agree to do it that way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[dolphin] [Bug 422082] New: Using mountiso plugin unmount action on a mounted loop device does not remove the loop device
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422082 Bug ID: 422082 Summary: Using mountiso plugin unmount action on a mounted loop device does not remove the loop device Product: dolphin Version: 20.04.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kwon-young.c...@hotmail.fr CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY This concerns the mountiso dolphin-plugins but I could not find the correct components. This bug concerns the unmount behavior of the mountiso plugin. Before starting, here is a schema of the workflow used to mount an iso file as a directory using the mountiso plugin in dolphin: mountiso mount/unmount action dolphin sidebar mount/unmount action | automatic | myimage.iso -> /dev/loop0 -> /dev/loop0p1 -> /run/media/user/myimage The problem here is that you can't delete the /dev/loop0 device if /dev/loop0p1 is already mounted on /run/media/user/myimage. I already have a patch for the mountiso plugin to unmount the /dev/loop0p1 device before deleting /dev/loop0 and I'll make a merge request soon. Additional questions: * Should the mount action of the mountiso plugin automatically mount the /dev/loop0p1 device to a directory? * Should the unmount action of dolphin sidebar automatically delete the /dev/loop0 device? I have already tried to automatically mount /dev/loop0p1 device to a directory when mounting using mountiso action, but I can't make it to work. After mounting the iso file to /dev/loop0, I can get the corresponding /dev/loop0p1 device but it seems that Solid does not consider to be a StorageAccess device, which means that I can't mount it to a directory. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Mount iso file using mountiso mount action 2. Click on the newly appeared device on dolphin side bar (as a results, new device is mounted on a directory) 3. Go back to iso file, unmount using mountiso unmount action OBSERVED RESULT The device on dolphin side bar does not disappear. When the user unmount the device from dolphin side bar, the device disappear automatically. EXPECTED RESULT The device disappear from dolphin sidebar. [okular] [Bug 417909] RFE: Text and page background - dark themed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417909 Kwon-Young Choi changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kwon-young.c...@hotmail.fr --- Comment #1 from Kwon-Young Choi --- Hi, Just an okular user here, but I think there is already an option to change the background and foreground color in okular. Go to "Settings" -> Configure Okular -> "Accessibility". Then, tick the "Change colors" box and select "Change Dark & Light Colors" menu item in "Color mode". This will allow you to change the "Dark color" (background) and "Light color" (foreground). However, that settings comes with the warning: "Warning: these options can badly affect drawing speed". I suppose that rendering a pdf with other colors involves additional processing which could impact your battery life so I'm not sure if this is a good solution. [okular] [Bug 417821] Jump Stack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417821 --- Comment #2 from Kwon-Young Choi --- Ok, this works! So, before filing this bug, I actually went and search for something in the "Configure Keyboard Shortcuts" menu under "Settings". And I saw the "Alt+Shift+Left" and "Alt+Shift+Right" shortcut for the "Back" and "Forward" action. But I confused them with the "Previous Page" and "Next Page" and did not try them myself. Thank you for your help! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[okular] [Bug 417821] New: Jump Stack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417821 Bug ID: 417821 Summary: Jump Stack Product: okular Version: unspecified Platform: unspecified OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: PDF backend Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: kwon-young.c...@hotmail.fr Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 126120 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=126120=edit PDF scientific paper containing clickable citation and a bibliography at the end of the document SUMMARY Hello, This is a feature request based on my daily usage of okular to view scientific papers. Scientific papers have a lots citation which you can actually click and okular will jump to the corresponding citation usually at the end of the document. The big frustration is when you are in the middle of reading a big paper, you click on a citation, which brings you at the end of the document. However, you can't easily backtrack to the place you were earlier in order to continue to read the paper. I actually would like to help to develop such a feature (I already know a little bit of c++ and Qt but never did anything with kde apart from a little of kirigami) Thank you for your help. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a scientific paper with clickable citations (see attachment) 2. Click on a citation (this brings you to the end of the document) 3. (Not possible yet) Jump back where you were before clicking on the citation OBSERVED RESULT Not possible to jump back after clicking on a citation. EXPECTED RESULT Ability to jump back after clicking on a citation ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Thank you all for your awesome work! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

A workaround is to disable the check box: "Track file transfers and other jobs" in each notification configuration menu of each panel (except one in order to keep at least one notification on each screen). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. use multiple screens 2. have one default panel on each screens 3. delete/copy/move a file using dolphin OBSERVED RESULT multiple notifications of the same event on each screen.
