Okay, I see the problem now.

In 5.6. I had to set QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=1 in /etc/profile.d since the
plasma-internal scaling options did not work any more (coming from 5.5).

It seems plasma overrides this option now and relies again on the scaling
options one can set in systemsettings. So it works again.

Sorry for the noise.

Since the upgrade to plasma 5.7.2 (from 5.6.5) all icons in qt (4 and 5)
applications are too small on my hidpi-screen.
For things belonging directly to plasma (for example the desktop context menu)
this was also the case for plasma 5.6.
But with plasma 5.7.2 the icons of all qt(4,5) applications like dolphin,
okular, yakuake, spectacle are too small as well. It seems that the
hidpi-scaling only works for fonts and not for icons any more.

Note, changing qt's scaling only seem to influence the font size, but not icon
sizes.

I will attach a screenshot.

2016-03-01 Thread Lukas Schneiderbauer via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 359962
Summary: [wish] linear interpolation in Plotter (QtQuick item)

The QtQuick item 'Plotter' (as for example used in the plasma-nm plasmoid)
always uses catmull-rom interpolation on any data it gets. This might not
always be the desired way of plotting the given data. Also, it can lead to poor
artefacts (for example on big steps of the y-values).
To remedy this, I suggest to add an option to choose linear interpolation
instead of Catmull-Rom interpolation.

The soon to be attached patch implements this by adding a Q_PROPERTY
"interpolation" to the Plotter-class, which allows the options
Interpolation.Linear and Interpolation.CatmullRom. The default is still
Interpolation.CatmullRom to avoid changing the behaviour of existing Plasmoids.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 359802] New: weird speed-graph unit labeling

  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com

On the left side of the speed graph in the nm-applet, the units of the graph
are indicated. They obviously are not scaled in a linear way.
Is this intended? I am under the impression, that the graph plots linearly by
default; so for me it doesn't make much sense this way.

The scaling of the labels is reflected in
plasma-nm/applet/contents/ui/ConnectionItem.qml, line 303:
text: KCoreAddons.Format.formatByteSize((plotter.maxValue * 1024) / (index +
1))

in my opinion the line should read
text: KCoreAddons.Format.formatByteSize( (plotter.maxValue * 1024) * (1-
index/5)) )
to get a proper linear scale.

I'm not sure what you mean by "physical resolution", but my monitor's native
resolution is 3840 x 2160 and it's diagonal length is 27 inch. Assuming my
monitor's physical length ratio is exactly 16:9 (which I didn't check), this
gives a resolution of 163.178 x 163.178 dpi.
