[plasmashell] [Bug 425564] SEGFAULT occurs in plasma when a certificate is untrusted

New crash information added by DrKonqi

plasmashell (5.27.5) using Qt 5.15.8

My corporate network requires a captive portal login each week. The redirection
to captive portal is made by MITMing the SSL connections. As I want to know
which connections are being mitmed, I did not install the corporate CA
certificate and when seeing an ssl error I just open any page that works
without SSL to be redirected onto captive portal and then to log into the
network.

Unfortunately, in that case the plasma starts to crashing, disabling the
desktop and all widgets and making it hard to open a browser and navigate to a
captive portal page.

I would like the plasma to handle that case gracefully, i.e. report an SSL
error but not crash.

Sorry for the late reply - it seems that I've missed the notification.

Crash happens after selecting a rectangular region and doublicking it to apply.
I see the spectacle main window update for a brief time and then it crashes.

Also, today I've found a workaround - after disabling the compositor taking
screenshots works fine.

[latte-dock] [Bug 402767] New: latte content color not calculated when kde desktop background is set to slideshow

2019-01-01 Thread Lukasz Gmys
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402767

Bug ID: 402767
   Summary: latte content color not calculated when kde desktop
background is set to slideshow
   Product: latte-dock
   Version: 0.8.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plasmoid
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Reporter: lukasz.g...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
docks contents are not colored if the dekstop background is changed through
slideshow setting.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. configure latte 8.3.1 to use monochrome content colors based on desktop
background
2. use slideshow setting as your plasma background mode
3. add some images varying in luminosity

OBSERVED RESULT
as we cycle through slideshow, the content color is not changed. ie, we end up
with white text/tray icons on a white-ish desktop background

EXPECTED RESULT
background color detection should be triggered also when the slide change
occurs

Seems like this plugin is responsible for this behavior

In English it would be called something like "Searching on desktop"

When I am opening krunner or program activator (I believe this is the name of
this component, left down corner) my disks are woken up from standby
(spindown).

Does not matter if I type something or not.

Expected behaviour:
Disks are only woken up when I type something to krunner and same for the kde
menu. I want to turn off computer, but my disk are starting to spinning up.

Hi,

I don't have flatpak directory in /var, since I am always using --user option.
Because of that plasma-discover crashes on startup.

Starting program: /usr/bin/plasma-discover

I have exactly the same problem in 5.8 from arch packages. When switch few
times from klipper, pa to digital clock, plasma crashes and after a moment it
restarts itself and there is a huge memory leak.

[rsibreak] [Bug 370088] New: Huge memory leak when using slideshow feature

2016-10-05 Thread Lukasz via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370088

Bug ID: 370088
   Summary: Huge memory leak when using slideshow feature
   Product: rsibreak
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: aa...@kde.org
  Reporter: dolo...@outlook.com

When you run RSI break long enough you will expierience huge memory leak. This
is probably because every time the break fires up, it loads all the pictures
into memory without ever releasing them.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure you have at least 10 MB of pictures in one directory.
2. Turn on slideshow feature.
3. Run program.
4. After few hours observe huge memory leak.

Settings:
* Small 30 seconds break every 3 minutes .
* Long 10 minutes break every 45 minutes.

After 5 hours rsibreak occupies: 1.5 GB.

[kopete] [Bug 356201] Send file operation fails due to Socks5 proxy protocol error

2015-12-02 Thread Lukasz Kucharski via KDE Bugzilla

My actual version of Kopete was 1.7.3 - from some reason it's not available in
the list).

Latest version on git master also have the same issue
void SocksClient::sock_connected()
{
#ifdef PROX_DEBUG
fprintf(stderr, "SocksClient: Connected\n");
#endif

d->step = StepVersion;
// This should send only in case socket connect to remote
server(sockets connects du to SocksClient::connectToHost) otherwise no greeting
message should be send.
writeData(spc_set_version(!d->user.isEmpty())); // fixme requirement for
auth should set outside

[kopete] [Bug 356201] New: Send file operation fails due to Socks5 proxy protocol error

2015-12-02 Thread Lukasz Kucharski via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356201

Bug ID: 356201
   Summary: Send file operation fails due to Socks5 proxy protocol
error
   Product: kopete
   Version: 1.7.2
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Jabber Plugin
  Assignee: kopete-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kuch...@gmail.com

After a few debug runs, wireshark trace sessions and kopete recompilations
problem is found.

Issue is visible when Kopete sends files to other clients (confirmed with
Pidgin).

According to Socks5 description on wiki
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOCKS#SOCKS5) client should send greeting
message (socks version, supported authentication methods) and server side
sockets should respond to that with one selected method or error if non of is
supported.

Problem with kopete (at least without libjingle support) is that no matter
Kopete acts as a client or as a server greeting message always show up in
communication from kopete side.

This in case Kopete is server side client like Pidgin after sending greeting
messages expects to get two bytes (socks_version, selected_auth_method | 0xff)
but it gets a kopete greeting message and this is interpreted as server
selected gssapi authentication method (which even was not on cliend support
list).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Send a file to other client (checked with Pidgin)
2. Other side accepts

Actual Results:
Send operation fails immediately from Kopete side (in Pidgin console Socks5
session issue can be found).

Expected Results:
File is actually transfered

Quick and dirty modification of
protocols/jabber/libiris/src/irisnet/noncore/cutestuff/socks.cpp to prevent
sending greeting message (in sock_connected) when SocksClient is on Server
socket end helps and file transfer in both directions (Kopete <-> Pidgin) work.
