[plasmashell] [Bug 440396] New: Scrollbar derives its color from view background, often making it impossible to see

2021-07-29 Thread Manish Jain

Bug ID: 440396
Summary: Scrollbar derives its color from view background,
often making it impossible to see
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Theme - Breeze
  Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org

Scrollbar invisible in Konsole

I love KDE, but there is a problem with the Plasma shell that has surprisingly
unnoticed. There are two problems with the scrollbar. The Breeze themes don't
allow the user to set the scrollbar thickness, which is a problem because the
default scrollbar in Breeze is too narrow.

The second is that the scrollbar derives its color from the view background,
often making it impossible to see. I am attaching a screenshot in which Konsole
shows no scrollbar at all. To reproduce the problem, just run a command in
Konsole with very output (I ran `pacman -Syyu`).

Ideally, the scrollbar color should derive its color from the window background
or, even better, be independently tunable. For example, in the screenshot
referred, the scrollbar should have been brown -- the color of the Menu Bar.

Thanks,

I am on Manjaro Linux - KDE - amd64 - kernel version 5.4. In Okular, I would
like to be able to browse bookmarked PDF files. That is not happening. I can
add a bookmark, but then when I reopen okular with a different PDF, I am unable
to browse to the previously bookmarked PDF.

I think this bug has been reported in error. Plasma actually has two separate
widgets for this - Show Desktop and Minimize All Windows. The second widget has
the functionality I desire. Am closing the issue as resolved.

[plasmashell] [Bug 424629] New: Windows minimized by Show Desktop widget get restored all-at-once

2020-07-24 Thread Manish Jain
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424629

Bug ID: 424629
Summary: Windows minimized by Show Desktop widget get restored
all-at-once
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Show Desktop/Minimize All
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: bourne.ident...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

If you minimize a few desktop windows by clicking the Show Desktop widget, they
quite rightly get minimized to the taskbar. Clicking on any one of these
minimized windows should logically restore that window. However, the current
behaviour is that all minimized windows get restored to the desktop
simultaneously in one shot, which I find quite irritating and undesirable. May
I request the behaviour be kindly changed ?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a few windows on the desktop.
2. Click the Show Desktop widget icon.
3. Click one of the minimized windows in the taskbar.

OBSERVED RESULT
All minimized windows get restored to the desktop simultaneously in one shot.

EXPECTED RESULT
Only the window that was clicked in the taskbar should have been restored.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro Linux 19.0/Plasma 5.18

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This issue was originally reported as #424628 under an incorrect category
(Active Window Control). The issue is being re-filed under the correct category
now.

Thank you,
