Bug ID: 369258
Summary: Pressing Caps Lock results in showing info message for
a fraction of second
   Product: kscreenlocker
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: clearmar...@zoho.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, mgraess...@kde.org

This looks like a regression of Plasma 5.8 BETA.

When pressing Caps Lock in lock screen, the message "Caps Lock is on" shows up
only for a moment and then disappears regardless of state of Caps Lock. After
that in case Caps Lock is actually on -> when moving cursor or pressing some
letters, message is displayed correctly.

Testing on Arch LInux with testing+kde-unstable repos enabled: Plasma 5.7.95,
KF 5.26.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Lock screen
2.Press Caps Lock

Actual Results:
Message "Caps Lock is on" is showed just for a moment.

Expected Results:
Message "Caps Lock is on" should be showed and stayed that way until Caps Lock
is pressed once more.

Since KF 5.26 when I want to search (Ctrl+F) in text editor, I have to copy the
selected text, press Ctrl+F and paste the copied text in order to search for it
in document.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a text document in any KDE text editor (e.g. Kate)
2. Select a portion of text and press Ctrl+F
3. Select another portion of text and press Ctrl+F

Actual Results:
Search field is filled by the first portion of text.

2016-08-26 Thread Martin Kostolný via KDE Bugzilla

Not from Krusader side. If I try to run "konsole --new-tab" from krunner
(alt+f2), it still opens a new konsole window therefore I believe it is a
konsole problem, but I could be wrong. I've found this:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341672#c1

Maybe it would be worth filing a dedicated bug report on konsole if it turns
out there is no way for konsole reusing the same process to create a new tab.

Unfortunately it turned out that updating to Qt 5.6 didn't help.

Duplicating To / Cc field always immediately removes the dropdown menu of found
contacts. I believe that's the reason why I have to remove what I typed and
start to type again in order to request dropdown menu once again. That way the
next To / Cc field is already created so nothing is "conflicting" with showing
up found contacts menu.

I have now Plasma 5.6.3, KF 5.21, KDE Apps 16.04.0, Qt 5.6, (KMail 5.2.0). Arch

Git commit 8528c06ffe86231554189172b9cde02a8c38b6cb by Martin Kostolný.
Committed on 20/03/2016 at 19:12.
Pushed by martinkostolny into branch 'master'.

This patch modifies Krusader's item selection behaviour. It enables Krusader to
select previously focused item when no other items are already selected.

For this to work (and to reuse existing code) I've modified KrView's method
"getSelectedItems" to accept a bool flag to optionally return selected-only
items (without the focused one).

2016-02-21 Thread Martin Kostolný via KDE Bugzilla

  Assignee: plasma-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: clearmar...@zoho.com

When copying files to the remote location over SMB, SFTP and others it is
always used ".part" extension for the newly created currently copied file. I
can see from kio-extras source code that "MarkPartial" property is actually
loaded from ~.config/kioslaverc config file. I've also tested that when adding
MarkPartial=false to this file it actually affect the transfer as needed.

But this configuration is not changeable through GUI. FTP has it's own
MarkPartial property in ~/.config/kio_ftprc and it is configurable through
System Settings -> Network: Settings -> Connection Preferences.

I think there should be a GUI option for the global MarkPartial property used
for the rest of kio slaves e.g. in the same Connection Preferences in a new
"Global Options" section.

Reproducible: Always

I can confirm this issue. (KF 5.19, Qt 5.5.1, Plasma 5.5.4)

Also when copying such file or directory to remote location through fish
protocol -> it actually creates name with question marks:
1) Copy file "čeněk.txt" to remote directory through fish
2) Observe that "?en?k.txt" is actually created -> this way the file can be
read just fine

I've tested this use-case also with sftp and ftp protocols and these are not
affected by this issue.

Thank you very much for your extensive testing and help. I've tested my use
cases only with sftp. I should have done it with more. So now I created the
same test case as you ("1" and "2" directories with nested "#test#"
contents...).

Surprisingly I didn't run into any problems with sftp and ftp protocols. Even
fish protocol was fine until I used special czech characters such as "č", "ě"
etc. It seems to be a problem with filename encoding and fish protocol. I'll
file a separate bug report for that since dolphin is also affected by this
issue.

You also mentioned %23 text in address bar and tabs. I believe this issue was
already present before applying my patch. Aside from visual effect it should
not have any bad influence in synchronizing directories.

Can you confirm any of my findings
- is sftp working fine?
- was there a special (excluding #) character in your tested fish path?
...or can you please direct me to more specific test case?

Thanks again!

PS: I'm posting a little more polished patch - it should do exactly the same as
the previous one but just to be sure we are testing with the same code. Or
should we continue this in review board?

The main idea behind this patch is checking whether QUrl isLocalFile. And if it
is not a local file -> escape the uri's "#" character. This logic is done in a
separate method so it can be changed from one place and this way applied to all
uses throughout Synchronizer code.

I'm no Qt guru but I'm willing to maintain Synchronizer part of Krusader since
it is currently unmaintained.

  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: clearmar...@zoho.com

When reading html-only messages (usually created in MS Exchange) in plain text
mode they are showed with incorrect encoding. Switching to html-view encoding
is used and text correctly displayed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have kmail with stock settings (no preferring html messages)
2. Recieve html-only message with encoding different from UTF-8

Actual Results:
Message characters are displayed incorrectly (with some question mark like
characters) - e.g. for czech specific characters

Expected Results:
Message should be displayed using encoding specified in incoming html.

When replying in plaintext the message is attached inline correctly (no
question marks) so the only problem is just displaying incoming message.

When saving attachment incorrect directory path (/usr/bin) is suggested and I
always need to select the proper one (which is for me always the same). The
side effect of this suggestion is loading unnecessarily big contents of
/usr/bin directory.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on an attachment in mail
2. In dialog click "Save as..."

Actual Results:
Suggested path is /usr/bin

Expected Results:
Suggested path should be home folder or last folder I used for saving an
attachment.

I used to suffer from this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357557
...where the result of suggesting path file://home/user/ was showing also
/usr/bin contents. But after some time it is directly showed /usr/bin.

I also tried to test with clean config (empty home directory) and the first
suggestion when saving attachment was a proper home directory one. But maybe
after a restart it was back to /usr/bin. Even when I select a home directory to
save attachment, then save it and then try to save it again -> /usr/bin is
suggested again.

Hi! I have the same problem. The problem seems to be related with DRI3 since
DRI2 works with known EGL glitches (Intel graphics). Another PC with ATI
(R600G) also works fine - but it runs with DRI2. Problem indeed started with
mesa 11.1.

I have this problem with colour correction turned off. I've also tried to
enable mentioned logging with the same results. Is there another way to squeeze
more logging info from kwin around compositor failure?

Tested on:
Arch linux, Qt 5.5.1, Plasma 5.5.3, KF 5.17 (both Intel and ATI pc)
mesa 11.1.0, xorg server 1.18

I think this is fixed for Plasma 5.5.1, KF 5.17.
@Thiago Macieira: can you confirm that?

Indeed, I cannot reproduce this issue anymore with Plasma 5.5.0, KF 5.16.
Thanks for the fix! :-)

[ksshaskpass] [Bug 356632] New: ksshaskpass showing password field while asking for username

2015-12-13 Thread Martin Kostolný via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356632

Bug ID: 356632
Summary: ksshaskpass showing password field while asking for
username
   Product: ksshaskpass
   Version: 5.5.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jpwhit...@kde.org
  Reporter: clearmar...@zoho.com

When ksshaskpass is invoked for the first time for given hostname it asks for
username but shows a password field and "Remember password" checkbox. After
inserting some text clicking OK it asks for password for previously inserted
username.

This is very misleading. I've inserted password in the first dialog, checked
"Remember password" and then was surprised by the second password dialog and on
top of that was unable to change username for given hostname due to checked
"Remember password" checkbox (another issue fixed by going to KWalletManager
15.08 and remove given username).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Clean up your github.com ksshaskpass usernames and password in
kwalletmanager
2. Git push in some project hosted on github

Actual Results:
Username query dialog opens with password field

Expected Results:
Username query dialog opens but should contain regular text field for username
and maybe also password field and remember password checkbox.

I have Plasma 5.5.0, KF 5.16, KDE Applications 15.08.03, Qt 5.5.1

[ksshaskpass] [Bug 343562] Cannot remove a wrong user/password after it was stored

2015-12-13 Thread Martin Kostolný via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343562

Since there is kwalletmanager 15.08.3 available it is possible to remove the
wrong username & password pair. Then ksshaskpass will ask for username again.
So I think this particular bug can be resolved fixed.

I will open a new bug report though for ksshaskpass where it should ask for
username with textfield labeled also with "Username" (not "Password") and the
same goes for the checkbox "Remember Password" under this textfield.

[krusader] [Bug 349184] Unable to switch back to internal editor after previous change to another application

I have the exact same problem on the same platform as Radim Hopp (KDE4 Krusader
running within Plasma 5.4.3, KF 5.16 etc.). I also have Qt 5.5.1 installed.

There is another problem (probably related): Inside Krusader go to some folder
(e.g. /home/user/Downloads) then open settings, set "internal editor" in
mentioned settings and apply, close settings. Open settings again and you can
see that instead of "internal editor" there is "/home/user/Downloads/internal
editor" set.

Workaround for me was to change Editor property under [General] section inside
~/.kde4/share/config/krusaderrc file like this:
Editor=internal editor

[kwin] [Bug 352427] EGL compositing problems, update only every other bookmark item in Chrome and Launcher

I don't think the DRI3 module is loaded in your xorg. Here is how my log looks
like when DRI3 is enabled (relevant part of the log):
http://pastebin.com/6rxYgG0r

But your xorg-server did find the Option "DRI" "3" as stated in your log so my
guess is your xorg-server is built without DRI3 support. But there is a big
chance I'm wrong...
