As a...@stronzi.org said, it seems to be connected to VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). By default in Plasma’s SystemSettings VRR is set to “automatic”, which as described in this bug report, seems to trigger the black screen when something goes full-screen. I can also confirm that setting VRR to “never”, works around this bug. Then I also tried to set VRR to “always”, which right away blacked out my external screen. Which is why I’m quite confident VRR has something to do with this bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Only one of the two includes any events though. Potentially related: MySQL also spent 100% CPU for a long long time (see below). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. have an existing iCal file with todos on hand 2. add that file as iCal File Resource – does not matter whether through Zanshin or KOrganizer OBSERVED RESULT - the todo list shows as an appropriately named (e.g. `ToDo`) and working resource in Zanshin, KOrganizer, Akonadi Console - but it _also_ shows as a wrongly named (e.g. `akonadi_ical_resource_3`) and empty resource in Zanshin, Korganizer, Akonadi Console - during this process I noticed Akonadi being unavailable for quite some time and also MySQL using up 100% CPU for a long long time (see below) before Akonadi started working again – perhaps related: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384309 EXPECTED RESULT See only the properly named resource. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: yes (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I’m attaching a fuller log of how it happened this time (IRC log from #akonadi): I’m having issues with Akonadi again. In order to more properly fix some mess-up, I decided this time to create a new user and start from scratch. This will be a bit (but not super) long, I apologise in advance. 1) I renamed the old user to `backup_hook` (with `usermod --login`) and also its home to `/home/backup_hook`. Previously the above user was `hook` and its home appropriately `/home/hook`. 2) I created a new user `hook` with a fresh, empty `/home/hook`. 3) I logged into Plasma as this new `hook`, with a fresh new Plasma set of defaults :) 4) I stared KMail and entered the credentials to my default e-mail account (quite a few e-mails there) through IMAP, I let them all download. 5) I started KOrganizer and entered my Nextcloud servers’s credentials --- so far so good --- 6) I started Zanshin and added my todo.ics --- for some reason, none of the todos seem to have showed up – and there’s _a lot_ of them --- 7) While the things were syncing, I started moving some folders from /home/backup_hook to /home/hook – documents, etc., (no settings). --- at this point my laptop froze and after 15' I hard-rebooted it --- 8) When I logged into Plasma again, I got greeted by Zanshin not working and Akonadi claiming it’s not registered at D-Bus and agents are missing 9) just as I was writing point 8) the Akonadi Migrator popped up and things started working again. Oddly enough I can see my todo.ics twice in Zanshin and twice in Akonadi Console – as “Todo” and as “akonadi_agent_ical_2” (or something like that) 10) Once the Akonadi Migrator was done, I restarted the Akonadi server. --- now it does *not* work again --- --- but I have mysqld hammering my CPU --- At point 8) this is the report I got: https://thatfunkyplace.wheremymonkeyis.at/s/QeFFTWxBm6AoJpL (for a later report, I’m still waiting for the button in Akonadi Console or Zanshin to actually pop up something) --- now MySQL stopped churning and Akonadi works again --- 11) KMail seems to work OK, but both Korganizer and Zanshin show empty – no entries, even no resources listed at all. Which is doubly-odd because the resources are clearly listed in their respective settings dialogues as well as in Akonadi Console. --- …and MySQL is churning 100% CPU again. --- 12) After MySQL stopped eating all the CPU, I can see some resources and entries in KOrganizer and Zanshin again – oddly enough, the todo.ics _again_ shows twice: as ”TODO” and as “akonadi_ical_resource_2” --- next day --- Hm, I don’t like this one bit …I just noticed that after all that MySQL churning, the vast majority of the messages in KMail show as empty. Especially anything older than 8 months. …what I like _even less_ is that this seems to have now replicated to the server-side as well. so even in RoundCube I see those messages empty. This is pretty bad. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Akonadi] [Bug 452586] New: During an IMAP sync e-mail body of most messages in Akonadi/KMail get removed permanently
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=452586 Bug ID: 452586 Summary: During an IMAP sync e-mail body of most messages in Akonadi/KMail get removed permanently Product: Akonadi Version: 5.19.3 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: IMAP resource Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: mat...@suklje.name Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Occasionally KMail/Akonadi will during a sync(?) lose/remove the bodies of most messages. This issue in irreversible and spreads also to the server. This is a grave issue, since data – whole messages – are lost. Only the headers remain. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. make sure you have “download messages for offline use” enabled for the IMAP resourse 2. the e-mail sync – cannot predict or tell what triggers the issue with the sync TBH 3. eventually notice some e-mail is missing their bodies OBSERVED RESULT Many e-mails are missing their message body parts, but the headers seem intact. The issue propagates to the servers (probably in the next sync), so now _everywhere_ these e-mails are lacking message bodies. EXPECTED RESULT Message bodies (and headers) for all e-mails to stay intact ;) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: yes (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I’m attaching a fuller log of how it happened this time (IRC log from #akonadi): I’m having issues with Akonadi again. Have I Been Pwned is a website (and service) that tracks if your e-mail address has shown up in any breaches. Recently they introduced a new service, where you can check how often a password has shown up before – in order to assess how safe it (still) is: https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords It is also possible to use their API to check several passwords in one go – if this could be added into KDE, it would be awesome: https://haveibeenpwned.com/API/v2#PwnedPasswords Alternatively, KDE could also download the torrents with hashes from the website (the files are 10+ GB though!) and do the scan either locally or on some other dedicated server. [kontact] [Bug 327282] Google calendar/ical event gets doubled, i.e. added twice - event visible with no calendar displayed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327282 Matija Šuklje changed: What|Removed |Added CC||mat...@suklje.name --- Comment #7 from Matija Šuklje --- I can confirm that this is still an issue in KOrganizer 5.7.3. Furthermore, it seems it does not depend on the KDE user having a Google Calendar. I have two laptops: • work laptop – where we pay for Google apps, including Google Calendar and use that • private laptop – where I do not have a Google account, but my primary calendars are on my own Nextcloud (i.e. SabreDAV) CalDAV I have been told that in both cases if I click on “approve” in the invite as described herein, I cause a duplicate entry either in my own Google Calendar and/or other participants’ calendars. If memory serves me right, it is worse on work laptop, than on my private one. On my private laptop, I think all that happens is that the original creator receives a duplicate event, but I don’t (and I think other participants neither). On my work laptop, I think everyone (who already accepted the original invite?) receives a duplicate, including me. In order to fix this bug, I am prepared to be a test bunny for finding what exactly causes this bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=266154 Matija Šuklje changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #20 from Matija Šuklje --- No idea what caused it, but I found it and here’s a fix/workaround… Actual problem: `~/.kde4/share/config/akonadi_mailfilter_agentrc` suddenly prepends my home directory to the bogofilter line. e.g. it says: `action-args-1=/home/hook/bogofilter -s` …which is obviously wrong. Fix/workaround: change all such lines in the file (or via the KMail Filter dialog) to point to the actual command, which can be easily found by running `which bogofilter` in the console. Most likely this will be: `action-args-1=/usr/bin/bogofilter -s` Side-note: The same applies for the antivirus scan filter and the `kmail_clamav.sh` line. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357130 Bug ID: 357130 Summary: Not able to enable or add todo collection (existing (sub)calendar on ownCloud server) Product: zanshin Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: er...@kde.org Reporter: mat...@suklje.name CC: mbe...@ipsquad.net In the Sources pane I don’t have all the calendars/sources that exist. This might be due to me adding, hiding etc. sources in the beta where buttons were not that transparent at what they do. But now that I want to add/enable/show those sources, I don’t seem to be able in any way. There is no button, no right-click menu, nothing useful in the Settings menu, nothing I can find. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to add/show/enable (re)source of todos in the Source pane 2. Try right-clikcing on it 3. Check the Settings menu Actual Results: not being there Expected Results: being there :) Mageia 5 KDE 4.14.5 Zanshin compiled from Git from commit 40b0ee611b74cda9a07a57339ce2bbbeff755352 (a.k.a. 0.3_rc1) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[zanshin] [Bug 357103] Zanshin (0.3 beta) crashes if I enable/disable a collection/source
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357103 --- Comment #2 from Matija Šuklje --- Man, you’re quick! May I ask where the git is located? It’s hard to find … -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[zanshin] [Bug 357103] New: Zanshin (0.3 beta) crashes if I enable/disable a collection/source
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357103 Bug ID: 357103 Summary: Zanshin (0.3 beta) crashes if I enable/disable a collection/source Product: zanshin Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: er...@kde.org Reporter: mat...@suklje.name CC: mbe...@ipsquad.net Sometimes if I click to enable or disable a collection in the Sources list, Zanshin dies. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: -- Information about the crash: - What I was doing when the application crashed: 1) Lunch Zanshin (obviously) 2) enable or disable a collection listed under “Sources” Actual Results: 3) blammo! it crashes Expected Results: Not crash, obviously. Application: zanshin (0.2.80) KDE Platform Version: 4.14.5 (Compiled from sources) Qt Version: 4.8.6 Operating System: Linux 4.1.13-desktop-2.mga5 x86_64 Distribution: "Mageia 5" I haven’t noticed any other side-effects to this so far, but it’s still a bit annoying, since this is the only method to filter out or find todos that belong to a specific calendar (e.g. shared work vs., private calendar) The crash can be reproduced sometimes. -- Backtrace: Application: Zanshin Todo (zanshin), signal: Segmentation fault Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1".
