You're right, I didn't notice that, so my bad. :/
So, I guess this is a feature request rather than a bug. Should I delete this,
or just re-word it?

why that would be source of the problem. The flatpak version adds the MIME info
itself (you can see it when you go to the settings), why would that not be
enough to use the icons?

SUMMARY
I'm the author of the Godot MIME commit
(https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/breeze-icons/-/merge_requests/39), and I've
noticed that the icon has yet to show up for project.godot files. The SVG is
present in the system, but it's not even listed when searching for it in the
settings.

The MIME type is registered if you download Godot from Flathub, so that's not
the problem. Did I do something wrong when making that PR?

2020-08-25 Thread Michael Alexsander
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425813

Bug ID: 425813
Summary: Custom SVG icons defined in "File Associations" don't
show correctly
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 20.08.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: view-engine: icons mode
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: michaelalexsan...@protonmail.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 131189
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=131189=edit
The SVG shows correctly in the tooltip, but not in the file manager itself.

SUMMARY
When setting a custom icon for a file type, if said icon is a SVG file, the
file manager will show a generic file icon instead of it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the "System Settings", and then go to "File Associations".
2. Set a file type's icon to some SVG file.
3. Set that the files of that type show the generic icon instead.

That's true, but it's still not possible for Krita to follow Plasma's color
scheme by default, or select it all if it happens to be a custom one.

While applications that do currently have Breeze versions (such as GIMP and
Inkscape) do appear when installed from the distro's package manager, they will
just show their normal icons when installed from sources like Flatpak. This
could be fixed by symlinking the Flatpak icons to the normal icons.
