Hello, the application is installed directly from the Ubuntu repo during the
dist-upgrade. The entire OS is amd64 and so is the application architecture.

AppImages of the 8.5.0 pre-release works without any issues.

Maybe some other optimization that Canonical puts in their debs? I am aware
that the CPU on this laptop is not modern.

Compare Skanlite toolbars with Breeze and Oxygen iconsets

SUMMARY
While using Oxygen iconset, Skanlite is missing several icons since switching
to Plasma 6.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable Oxygen iconset in the System Settings
2. Invoke Skanlite to capture rectangle screen area
3. See the toolbar icons

OBSERVED RESULT
Several icons are missing and replaced by the text labels. Moreover these text
labels are cut and incomplete.

EXPECTED RESULT
Skanlite either provides own icons, or substitute missing icons from Breeze
iconset.

Two different icons during startup of one app

Two more observations, I've just noticed:

1. I had (original) Chromium open before logging out. I am using app session
recovery. However, the next time I logged in, Ungoogled Chromium was restored.

2. When you start the (original) Chromium browser, you will see two different
icons for a while. See attached video. Same for X11 & Wayland.

Hello Nate, thank you for considering this bugreport. However I'm not sure this
issue is actually a duplicate.

1) bug 459735 is two years old. It is reported for Plasma version 5.25.5, but I
noticed this behavior after upgrading to Plasma 6.

2) In bug 459735 comment 1 you stated "Task Manager icon uses the icon from the
app's .desktop file". I've double checked my apps and both provide the correct
icons in their respective .desktop files:

[mik@desktop applications]$ grep Icon chromium-browser.desktop
Icon=chromium-browser

[mik@desktop applications]$ grep Icon
io.github.ungoogled_software.ungoogled_chromium.desktop
Icon=io.github.ungoogled_software.ungoogled_chromium

I believe this issue is not related to different heuristics for task switcher
and Task Manager, it is a faulty heuristic in Task Manager. Otherwise I could
fix it by editing the .desktop files right? Could you please reconsider your
conclusion?

SUMMARY
Whereas effects from the "Present Windows" family can be fired and terminated
by their respective shortcuts (Ctrl+F7, Ctrl+F8, Ctrl+F10), I am unable to
terminate the effects from the "Overview" family by their shortcuts Meta+W,
Meta+G/Ctrl+F8. I have to use mouse instead.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable Overview effects in the System Settings
2. Invoke the effect with the shortcut (Meta+W)
3. Try to terminate the effect with the same shortcut.

OBSERVED RESULT
The Effect is not terminated.

EXPECTED RESULT
Effects should be terminated with respective shortcuts.

SUMMARY
Some icons on the Plasma login screen are illegible, because they are dark on
dark background.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Breeze Twilight global motive.

3. Apply Plasma settings on the Login screen.
4. Log out.

Login screen appears with some Oxygen icons (Sleep, Restart, Shut Down) and

System tray popup with dark icons

SUMMARY
I use Plasma 6 with Dark Breeze theme and the Oxygen icon set. 
Some icons in the System tray popup are missing in Oxygen. 
They are substituted by Breeze icons in dark variants, thus they're invisible
on dark background.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Breeze Twilight global motive.
2. Use Oxygen icon set.
3. Click on System tray to "Show hidden icons".

OBSERVED RESULT
Missing Oxygen icons are substituted by Breeze Dark variant. You can't see
them.

EXPECTED RESULT
All icons should be visible. Missing Oxygen icons should be substituted by
Breeze (light) variant.

Different icons in taks switcher and panel

SUMMARY
After installing both Chromium (deb) and Ungoogled Chromium (flatpak), Plasma
variously displays mismatched icons.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install and run Chromium (I use ppa:savoury1/chromium repository).
2. Check the icons shown everywhere in Plasma. They should be default blueish
Chromium logos.
3. Install and run Ungoogled Chromium
https://flathub.org/cs/apps/io.github.ungoogled_software.ungoogled_chromium
2. Check the icons of both apps. Whereas Ungoogled Chromium should have redish
icons as shown on Flathub page, original Chromium should keep its blueish
logos.

OBSERVED RESULT
Blue and red Chromium icons are mixed in a different way:
1. Icons in app launcher (alt+f1) are correct.
2. Icons in app switcher (alt+tab) are correct as well.
3. Window icons (left upper windows corner) are correct.
3. Icons on "Icons-and-Text Task Manager" panel are only red.
4. Icons in notifications popped from the panel are only red. Moreover the
notifications says "Ungoogled Chromium" even if the action was fired from
Chromium (original).

EXPECTED RESULT
All icons everywhere in the Plasma UI is shown in respect to the application of
origin.

I never noticed such behavior until Plasma 6. Discovered in Plasma 6.0 till
now. However Ungoogled Chromium used to have blueish icons those days:

I can second this. There's no easy way to list & control processes in Plasma
since KSysGuard widget removal in Plasma 6 (KDE Neon).

I consider the new System Monitor a handy tool for its - well system monitoring
- tasks. Neat charts, great customization. But for this task it is too slow and
heavy. Main issues are keyboard navigation and the performance mentioned at bug
#479321.

I also miss the possibility to watch the system monitor charts and process list
at the same time.

Bad icon substitution for missing Oxygen icons

SUMMARY
When set Oxygen iconset, the missing icons are substituted by Breeze icons.
These icons are dark, even if Plasma theme set to Breeze dark should provide
the light variants. The result is dark icon on dark system tray.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Breeze dark Plasma theme 
2. Set Oxygen iconset
3. Set DND mode

OBSERVED RESULT
DND icon (striked bell) on the systray is unreadable.

EXPECTED RESULT
White icons on dark panel should be provided from Breeze dark iconset.

Comparison of task panel/switcher icons for Breeze and Oxygen

SUMMARY
The task switcher shows Breeze icons instead of default/Oxygen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
- Set Global Theme Breeze (any color variant)
- Set Oxygen icons
- Make sure your task switcher shows app icons (set i.e. "Big icons")
- Make sure your task manager panel shows app icons 
- Start Krusader, start LibreOffice
- Invoke task switcher by pressing Alt+Tab
- See the icons...

EXPECTED RESULT
App icons on both task panel and task switcher should respect selected iconset.
Basically they should be the same.

OBSERVED RESULT
See attached image...
Whereas I can see the original icons (apps' built-in or Oxygen?) on the task
panel, the task switcher shows different (Breeze?) icons. BTW: The same
confusing icon is shown as the "window icon" in the windows' upper left corner.

I can see this confusing behavior for few weeks only since Plasma 5.23 (not
sure if exactly since 5.23.3, but definitely in 5.23.4).

To bring even more confusion here, this bug affects only some apps - namely
Krusader and LibreOffice. KDE family apps (Dolphin, Konsole, even Kate) adjust
their icons in respect with the iconset chosen. What is the difference?

I agree with Nate here. 

Since there's a tree-structure menu "Appearance > Global Theme > *", I
understand that a change of the global theme could change anything below.
However task switcher configuration is placed under different menu - "Window
Management" - thus this change is always confusing.

I'm pretty confident that "alt+shift+key" shortcuts used to work perfectly in
KDE4 times. I had always "alt+shift" for layout shortcut in Kubuntu versions
10.x - 14.x. Thus there has to be some KDE-specific fix for that.

Based on comment #8, I've used following two queries to clean my DB:

-- clean all occurrence of the "unconfirmed" tag
DELETE FROM ImageTagProperties WHERE property = 'autodetectedPerson'

-- clean "new unconfirmed face" for persons' tags
DELETE FROM ImageTagProperties WHERE property = 'autodetectedFace' AND
tagid<>255;

My issue shown at attachment 137684 is now fixed.

I can confirm the bug with OpenVPN and recent Plasma 5.21.

Although I can ping all devices in my LAN, or access TCP ports/services,
KDEConnect is unable to discover the devices. 

I event tried to add the IP address of the computer manually, but no luck.

I can get almost the same output by clicking on the tag "Nepotvrzeno"
(unconfirmed) - just the tag numeric id is 254 (and the search result is
different too).

BTW: The numbers are changing while I tag another photos. Tag "MiK" is

I can confirm this bug with digiKam 7.2.0 (updated from 7.1.0 by Neon's DEB
package).

People's tag:
- No faces with green frames.
- Incorrect number of new (unconfirmed) images (6 or 2)

Unconfirmed ("Nepotvrzeno") tag:
- No faces at all
- Incorrect number of containing images (2)

As an user I did not get such message, sorry. I just noticed "hey, the most
important menu item is missing here". As I understand your intention now, the
arrangement is still confusing to me.

How about a simple colorful rectangle on top of the theme-list with few words
of explanation? I can see some red rectangles in systemsettings modules for
touchpad or joystick. Maybe we can use these in different color?

Hello Nate, thanks for linking my duplicate. However I can understand that the
behavior is intentional, it has usability issues.

- Inconsistency: When I click the menu item labeled "Appearance", I expect the
2nd level caption is "Appearance". 

- Confusion: When I walk through the 2nd level menu items, I miss "Global
Theme" there. I do not expect the caption to be clickable.

Making the item "Global Theme" a caption and removing it from 2nd level menu
items made it IMO less visible. The previous UX worked well for me,
nevertheless I respect your decision.

Application task bar: Three different windows, three identical icons

SUMMARY
While I use SeaMonkey (former Mozilla Application Suite
), I have constantly open several windows:
The browser, the mail reader, the mail composer and so on. Each type of window
has distinguished application icon. Whereas I can see correct icons in task
switcher (alt+tab) and window decorations (upper left corner), the icons on the
task switching bar are wrong. All those different windows has just one icon -
the main application logo. This is constantly confusing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run SeaMonkey
2. Open different windows: browser and mailer
3. Check the taskbar

OBSERVED RESULT
All icons are the same - an application logo.

EXPECTED RESULT
Icons on the taskbar should reflect the window icon, not the application logo.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've noticed the issue since I use Plasma 5 few years ago. This used to work
earlier in KDE3/4. While it is just a minor issue (confusion) with icon+text
task bar, it is a major usability issue for now-so-modern icon only task bar.

Not sure about another apps behavior, as only few apps today are "one process,
multiple windows". LibreOffice for example has correct icons.

2nd level menu with missing item

SUMMARY
Menu items have restructured since upgraded KDE Neon to Plasma 5.21. Now
there's no submenu item 'Global Theme' under 1st level menu 'Appearance'. 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Systemsettings with sidebarview.
2. Click 'Appearance'
3. Check the menu items

OBSERVED RESULT
You can see the 'Global Theme' setting (3rd panel), but there's no menu item
'Global Theme' here. Moreover the 2nd panel caption should be 'Appearance', not
'Global Theme'. Should not be clickable as well.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expect consistent UX across all the Systemsettings UI. Thus 1st level menu
item (Appearance) when clicked should be the caption of the 2nd panel. Then all
2nd level options should be available as menu items.
