Can confirm, moving, trashing and deleting (shift delete) don't work either.
Another symptom was having a file named ''$'\200' and another named ''$'\362',
and trying to rename one began renaming the other.

The tray residing in the panel, on the right side, same as the "Application
Launcher" gesture opening the launcher that is in the panel, on the left side.
It would be like clicking/tapping the upwards arrow, which then turns into a
downwards arrow and shows a window called "Status and Notifications", from
which individual hidden tray items can be controlled, like "KDE Connect",
"Disks & Devices", "Clipboard", "Weather Report" and others.

This still happens with GTK2 apps (Pidgin, GTKTTK TTK themer (every TK program:
PySolFC, gitk), K-3D, Gimp). Using breeze-dark-gtk solves it, but that's not
the official theme. Modifying ~/.gtkrc-2.0 to contain
gtk-theme-name="Breeze-Dark" solves it as long as some setting resets it, but
this would be the ideal solution.
