Yes. Indeed, switching to single-click to open files/folders makes the issue
disappear.

[plasmashell] [Bug 356225] Panel moves to wrong screen when external monitor is connected

2016-09-20 Thread Nicolas Dietrich via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356225

I'm not so sure that this is really resolved. I'm still experiencing
misbehavior with Plasma 5.8 (few days old). I don't have time for thorough
testing though.

Note that my comment #189 does exist in Plasma 5.8 (at very until least days
back, when I last deleted some plasmarc file) - I opened issue 368818 for the
exact behavior, but I'm afraid that this might just be a duplicate of this bug
here.

Addendum: I only have the issue with the Maui theme, with the Breeze theme the
focus is set as intended.

I also have this issue on sddm-0.13.0 from xenial with neon/stable.

Why is this resolved as invalid? To many of us, this issue is still present,
please reopen.

For those trying to reproduce the bug on 5.8-beta using the neon distribution,
you should now user the "stable" version of neon instead of the "unstable"
version, otherwise you'd get the development branch of plasma 5.9, i.e. use the
following line in your sources.list:

deb http://archive.neon.kde.org/dev/stable xenial main

[plasmashell] [Bug 356225] Panel moves to wrong screen when external monitor is connected

2016-09-14 Thread Nicolas Dietrich via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356225

I've added a related issue in #bug 368818, which describes the panel to be
accidently moved to the external panel on the left, however on the vertical
position of the primary screen where it's supposed to stay. That bug might be
considered a duplicate of this bug here, but I opened a new one, as it has
different symptoms and I saw it for the first time yesterday, on neon/unstable.

[plasmashell] [Bug 368818] New: Panel on wrong position on wrong screen

2016-09-14 Thread Nicolas Dietrich via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368818

Bug ID: 368818
Summary: Panel on wrong position on wrong screen
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Panel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@mailbox.org

Plugging an external HDMI monitor with a higher resolution (1920x1200) to my
laptop (1920x1080) where the external screen is *left* of the primary screen,
leads to the panel being moved to the external screen, however not on the
bottom, but 120 px "in the air", which corresponds to the bottom of the primary
screen where the panel would actually belong (see attached file
"panel-in-the-air-1.png").

If I configure the primary screen to be even more "top" relative to the
secondary screen, the panel moves accordingly (see "panel-in-the-air-2.png").

This might be a duplicate of bug #356225, however I didn't see the relative
panel positioning issue before, so I decided to open up a new issue.

Note that this only happens when the external secondary screen is configured to
be *left* of the primary laptop screen!

Reproducible: Always

[systemsettings] [Bug 368661] New: Regression: Cannot switch components in global keyboard shortcuts configuration

2016-09-11 Thread Nicolas Dietrich via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368661

Bug ID: 368661
Summary: Regression: Cannot switch components in global
keyboard shortcuts configuration
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_keys
  Assignee: k...@michael-jansen.biz
  Reporter: n...@mailbox.org

As of current Plasma git (version says 5.7.90) from neon/unstable, I cannot
switch between components in the global keyboard shortcuts configuration
module.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open systemsettings -> shortcuts -> global shortcuts

"Audio volume" is selected, the respective shortcuts shown.

2. Click on any other component (e.g. kaccess, KWin, ...)

Actual Results:
Nothing changes - the "audio volume" shortcuts are still shown.

Expected Results:
Change to the shortcuts of the selected components.

Additionally, double clicking on a component label in the component list allows
that label to be renamed, which is pretty awkward. Might be a separate bug, or
related, in anycase strange.

I'm really missing this (coming from xmonad to KDE in order to use the same
stuff as the rest of the company) - virtual desktops are so much less usable
with dual screen with the kwin behavior (for me).

Hm, unfortunately, this doesn't exist anymore. @Josep: Do you have a clone of
the repo or a new link by accident?

[systemsettings] [Bug 363523] New: Format region list contains nds_DE instead of de_DE

2016-05-25 Thread Nicolas Dietrich via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363523

Bug ID: 363523
Summary: Format region list contains nds_DE instead of de_DE
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.6.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_formats
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@mailbox.org

The region list in the "numeric, currency and time formats" settings module
contains "Germany (nds_DE)", but not "Germany (de_DE)".

As there is no specific formatting in lower-saxony (nds_DE), this is certainly
a bug.

This is critical, since users (as me) just selecting the one existing "Germany"
setting without further looking, will have their `LANG` set to `nds_DE.UTF-8`,
which may not be generated at all (as in my case). This may lead to major
encoding brokenness throughout the system.

Note that the "Detailed settings" do contain `de_DE` and not `nds_DE`.

See also bug #357424.

Reproducible: Always

I think voting for disabled in the "kscreen" product. You can still manage
votes for other products (e.g. kdelibs).
