(I'm very new to KDEnlive) Trying to create a PIP and using the command "Insert
a Composition".

I have 4 video files loaded, 2 on each time video track (both with sound).

If I right click on the video and select the command "Insert a Composition" >>
"Composite and Transform" the system instantly crashes.

[digikam] [Bug 417960] New: [Enhancement]. In Batch Queue Manager - ability to display preview image

2020-02-20 Thread Nigel Aves
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417960

Bug ID: 417960
Summary: [Enhancement]. In Batch Queue Manager - ability to
display preview image
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.0.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: BatchQueueManager-Workflow
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: nigel.a...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I'm very new to digiKam. The problem I am having is that when I'm setting up
the filters in batch manger I have no clue as to how the final result will look
without having to run the manager and produce a new image.

There is probably not enough screen real estate to do this in current window,
but if a "Preview" button was added and the image displayed in a separate
window (Before / After toggle), that would help cut down on the in and out of
Batch Manager, find photograph, view it . Fewer the mouse clicks better the
work flow!

An alternative to that idea would be the ability in Image Editor to create and
save as a "Workflow" as the changes you need for converting from RAW to XXX or
changes to existing image files.

[digikam] [Bug 417896] Crash while converting RAW (Canon cr2) files (V 7 Beta 2)

2020-02-19 Thread Nigel Aves
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417896

Here is the trace-back. I will now run it with "multi-core" turned off, so
Yes, I was using it. Interesting though. The first time I ran this with "debug"
it worked all the way through 193 photographs. The 2nd time it crashed before
processing a single photograph. I have 32 GB of memory / AMD Ryzen 7.

SUMMARY

digiKam version 7 Beta 2

If I select one or two RAW images for processing all works OK.

But after getting the "queue" setup, I selected approx 100 RAW images for
processing. These were created on a Canon 5Ds (8688x5792 pixels - 58 Meg file
size)

Sometimes it has processed approx 50 photographs before crashing, last run only
8 or 9.

Here is the output from the terminal. I don't know where there is a core dump
to send you (sorry, I'm very new to Linux on a desktop.)
