[gwenview] [Bug 420357] gwenview shows faded version of image after cropping
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420357 --- Comment #16 from Philip Webb --- I followed the steps listed in Comment 14 , remerged Gwenview, rebooted. Then I made a PNG screenshot, cropped it, saved it in place (same name). Gwenview shows it in full color. So the patch seems to remove the bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[gwenview] [Bug 420357] gwenview shows faded version of image after cropping
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420357 --- Comment #13 from Philip Webb --- To Michael : thanks for testing this ; hopefully, that wb sufficient. To Andreas : I've looked at the Portage patches procedure & it does look rather complex. Esp, I don't know which Gentoo package is involved : the patch refers to Qtbase, but Gentoo only has Qtcore. While this is clearly a bug which needs fixing in Qt -- the patch shows an elementary omission by the original coder -- , I have found 2 workarounds which avoid the problem in my everyday activity, so its no longer a regular irritant to me. Hopefully, the Qt file wb patched & a new version will arrive at Gentoo soon. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[gwenview] [Bug 420357] gwenview shows faded version of image after cropping
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420357 --- Comment #7 from Philip Webb --- Thanks for your prompt response. Do you know which version of Qt contains the fix ? -- it doesn't seem to be 5.15.2-r3 (Gentoo), which I am using. 5.15.2-r10 is available in Gentoo testing : I assume I need qt-core (Gentoo). The Github date is June 11, which I assume is 2021, so it may not have reached Gentoo yet (Gentoo stable is fairly prompt, but by no means instant). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[gwenview] [Bug 420357] gwenview shows faded version of image after cropping
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420357 --- Comment #3 from Philip Webb --- This bug is still happening with Gwenview 21.04.3 . It seems to happen after the cropped image is saved in place, ie same name. I am now using Qt 5.15.2 , Frameworks 5.82.0 , Plasma 5.21.5 . My system is still stable Gentoo. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[gwenview] [Bug 420357] New: gwenview shows faded version of image after cropping
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420357 Bug ID: 420357 Summary: gwenview shows faded version of image after cropping Product: gwenview Version: 19.12.3 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: purs...@ca.inter.net Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 127726 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=127726&action=edit uncropped image SUMMARY : after Gwenview 19.12.3 is used to crop a .png image & the saved result is viewed in Gwenview, the image appears to be faded or bleached. The same image file appears correctly in Feh Gqview Xv. The bad view of the image is not corrected when the machine is rebooted. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use Gwenview to crop a .png image. 2. View the resulting saved file in Gwenview after going to another folder. 3. OBSERVED RESULT : the image appears to be faded or bleached EXPECTED RESULT : the image should show in full color, as it does in Feh. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.17.5 (these are the latest stable versions in Gentoo) (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION : Many previous croppings haven't shown this bug, which seems to have started after upgrading to 19.12.3 on 21 March 2020. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[systemsettings] [Bug 415703] panel clock configuration tool has misleading labels
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415703 --- Comment #2 from Philip Webb --- 'ls -l /etc/localtime' : -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3503 Sep 28 2015 /etc/localtime My bug is intended to get the label 'UTC' changed to something more helpful. If it is in fact generated by KDE from system information, perhaps it's looking in the wrong place. There are no problems with any other software re localtime or clock settings. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[systemsettings] [Bug 415703] New: panel clock configuration tool has misleading labels
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415703 Bug ID: 415703 Summary: panel clock configuration tool has misleading labels Product: systemsettings Version: 5.17.4 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: kcm_clock Assignee: p...@taniwha.com Reporter: purs...@ca.inter.net CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. right-click on panel digital clock 2. follow Configure Digital Clock -> Time Zones 3. look at line 1 : UTC - Local - Your system time zone OBSERVED RESULT an ambiguous + misleading set of labels EXPECTED RESULT labels which tell the user exactly what the line does SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Gentoo Linux KDE desktop (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0 Qt Version: 5.13.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION My computer's system clock is set to UTC ; my local timezone is North America EST for Toronto. To tell KDE to show Toronto time in the digital clock in the panel, the obvious method is to select the line marked 'Toronto' : this, however, results in the clock showing a time 5 hours behind Toronto. The successful method is to select the 1st line 'UTC - Local - Your system time zone', which looks like a request for the clock to show Greenwich UT time. The 1st line should be labeled 'Local time - Local region - Your computer's local time'. In addition, it is difficult to understand why users are allowed to select multiple time zones, which the clock cannot display. The desired display should be line to be selected & only 1 line should be selectable at a time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmahjongg] [Bug 196858] Removed tiles not shown
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196858 --- Comment #8 from Philip Webb --- 190327 Christian Krippendorf wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196858 > > Christian Krippendorf changed: > >What|Removed |Added > > CC||Coding@Christian-Krippendor >||f.de > > --- Comment #7 from Christian Krippendorf > How should this feature look ? > I don't know the old versions with that feature implemented, > so maybe someone can give me a short picture of how it should be look. I have sent a selection of images of the KDE 3 version of Mahjongg to Christian in a separate e-mail. It would be sensible to get a copy of the source for that version as a starting-point for restoring this very useful feature. Thanks to Christian & anyone else who is willing to work on it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[konqueror] [Bug 292959] Konsole opens file manager when asked to link to URL
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=292959 --- Comment #4 from Philip Webb --- I don't believe this is a problem today with KDE 5 & I no longer have Konqueror installed, so by all means close it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[gwenview] [Bug 236746] Disable thumbnail preview for folders
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236746 --- Comment #6 from Philip Webb --- I believe I did find these thumbnails distracting at first, but got used to them long ago, so have no problem today. Someone else mentioned privacy, but that doesn't affect me. By all means, close it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krusader] [Bug 374175] New: Krusader 2.5.0 doesn't accept correct dates for file searches
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374175 Bug ID: 374175 Summary: Krusader 2.5.0 doesn't accept correct dates for file searches Product: krusader Version: 2.5.0 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: search Assignee: m...@fork.pl Reporter: purs...@ca.inter.net Target Milestone: --- This is new in 2.5.0 : the previous version acted correctly. I use Krusader to manage my weekly file back-up. I have a profile defined, which lists the dirs to search or not search. I also want to limit the search to the last 7 days & previously used the date boxes to define those days. When I try to do this in 2.5.0 , the procedure goes as follows. (1) click 'search for files' icon in toolbar ; (2) click pawn symbol for 'profiles' ; (3) click 'advanced' ; (4) click 'modified between' ; (5) click calendar icons to enter dates, eg Dec 18 to Dec 24 ; (6) click 'search' ; (7) Krusader show US-style date formats & replies "Invalid date entered" ; (8) Try international date style instead : same result. US-style dates are '12/18/16' '12/24/16' ; i/nat'l '2016-12-18 2016-12-24'. I have international format as my default : this is probably not the problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
