With Konsole - yes. But with Doplhin, when I need to copy one file to another
window, I want to bring two windows at once.

Yes, have you tried it? It makes my eyes hurt :)
It is a hard-to understand almost-translucent windows mix.
I'll just patch my files, thanks.

Definetely I'll do.
I suppose "they" doesn't even use two or more Konsole windows. They all look
same, black with some text. So when you are searching the right session, You
just can't guess it by thumbnails, that's why.
Another resolution of this would be temporary bringing hovered window to the
front, to see it in full.

[plasmashell] [Bug 414976] New: Allow open two or more grouped programs from tasks thumbnails

2019-12-09 Thread Piotr Budny
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414976

Bug ID: 414976
Summary: Allow open two or more grouped programs from tasks
thumbnails
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.17.4
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: piotr.budny+bugs...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
When you use two or three konsole windows (or dolphin, etc) and they are
grouped on taskbar, you should have ability to click on few thumbnails to open
all windows.

The current behaviour is to hide thumbails (or windows list) after clicking and
showing one window.

Expected behaviour is like using close button. You can hover grouped windows
thumbs, and multiple-click on (X) buttons to close multiple windows, and the
reel won't close.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. hover mouse on grouped task name
2. click on one grouped window
3. thumbnails will fade-out

EXPECTED RESULT
When mouse is still over the thumbnail preview, the preview not fades untill
mouse over.

That same is for when you click on grouped task name instead of hovering.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: kubuntu

Video describing bug

Bug is present in latest Kubuntu 19.10 with Kde Plasma 5.17.0 from backports.
The video shows that window 88x15. It gets maximized vertically (88x33), then
resized grabbing top edge/border of the window to 88x8. The window now lacks of
shadows around it.
Then, I'm dragging window (on titlebar) with mouse, the windows gets back to
88x15 (it shoudl be still 88x8), and gets back the shadows decorations.

[kwin] [Bug 412888] New: Vertically maximized window "jumps down" when resized and dragged

2019-10-12 Thread Piotr Budny

Bug ID: 412888
Summary: Vertically maximized window "jumps down" when resized
and dragged
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.16.90
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: core
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: piotr.budny+bugs...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Vertically maximize window (e.g. middle mouse on arrow top right window
controls)
2. Resize window (e.g. with alt+right mouse button)
3. Try to move window (e.g. with title bar or alt+left mouse button)

OBSERVED RESULT
Window jumps down about half its size and then backs (on neon-testing).

On my local setup, window is getting maximized to full, looses window border
(you can't grab to change size), it appears again after resizing window with
alt+right mouse.

EXPECTED RESULT
No size change, no maximizing.

First of all, after removing .kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc, no new
file with that name was created.

Secondly, copying it back, it did not affect loading time (it is short)
