> How strange. Spectacle doesn't even use python.

... huh. Likely to be packaging issue on Arch's end then? I would go report it,
but I don't have an account.

Bug ID: 486225
Summary: Spectacle won't launch at all because of Python?
Classification: Applications
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: noaha...@gmail.com
  Reporter: xap...@cock.li
CC: k...@david-redondo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Spectacle fails to launch, either through application launcher or shortcut.
Inputting "spectacle" on terminal, returns "error while loading shared
libraries: libpython3.11.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory".

Python just had an update to 3.12. Downgrading it back to 3.11 fixes Spectacle
and makes it launch up fine.

Operating System: Linux 6.8.6-nitrous-1 x86_64
Windowing System: X11
Distribution: Arch Linux
DrKonqi: 6.0.3 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
No matter which one I start with, they are soon to crash every time I try
starting them, wether from terminal or application launcher. They worked fine
to start up and use previously on KDE 5, so this is likely to be
incompatibility with KDE 6.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Hi, much appreciated for the attention!
Weird, I already got gdb? Shouldn't be missing myself debug symbols, unless you
meant something else. Regardless, here's the hopefully more descriptive

[plasmashell] [Bug 485250] New: (X11 only) Odd crash past the login and onto plasma shell starting

2024-04-08 Thread Poci
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485250

Bug ID: 485250
Summary: (X11 only) Odd crash past the login and onto plasma
shell starting
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 6.0.3
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: generic-crash
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: xap...@cock.li
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (6.0.3)

Qt Version: 6.6.3
Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Operating System: Linux 6.8.4-zen1-1.1-zen x86_64
Windowing System: X11
Distribution: Arch Linux
DrKonqi: 6.0.3 [CoredumpBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
Per the title, this has been occuring for the past few days, likely related to
last KDE update (6.0.3); not all the time, but when it happens (frequently so),
when the KDE splash screen is gone and transits into my desktop with functional
plasma shell, there's this Crash Handler here everytime, allegedly reporting of
a "crash", even if I can just boot up to login screen and reach plasma shell
just fine (I did notice it adds a bit more delay before plasma shell shows up).
Happens on X11 only.

PS: I'm reporting this through Crash Handler, so apologizes for any odd
formatting or loosen report haha.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

[xdg-desktop-portal-kde] [Bug 462690] Image previews not saved when opening File Picker again

2023-10-17 Thread Poci
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462690

Hi, sorry for bumping this, but I found the workaround. Turns out to be just
configuration cache corruption? Delete kdeglobals off your .config folder, then
delete the .cache folder, log out then log in. Finally the previews are by
default on always anytime I open the file picker.

Be warned though that this resets some of your saved KDE's System Settings.
