I would like to add that i can reproduce this issue with mouse too. so tablet
sending meta key press may be doubtful.

nevertheless I will reset it back to alt and try this again just to be sure.

No I am just left clicking on the canvas with pentip (wacom) .( Although I can
reproduce this with mouse too .)

I have re assigned Alt to meta key for moving windows

i will share the other information in an hour or so.

thank you very much for the response.

I am using default breeze theme , I have windows can cover option enabled in
the pannel and moved its position to the top. I have enabled no border on the
window , moved the close maximise and minise buttons to left and kept the
buttons to small in the settings apart from this I haven't modified anything
that is in default breeze theme.

Due to some technical reasons krita uses fusion theme hence it looks
different.

[kwin] [Bug 371284] New: Kwin hinders brush cursor in krita making the window move while painting

2016-10-20 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371284

Bug ID: 371284
Summary: Kwin hinders brush cursor in krita making the window
move while painting
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: libinput
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

While painting in krita my brush cursor would just turn into arrow along a
linear line and when I paint from this point the window would be grabbed and
moved. I also reported bug to krita thinking that it would be krita but i used
an older version of krita to test this and I found that the behaviour is same
on it too. while earlier this same version worked fine.

Then I tested this with openbox as wm , the issue is not present there. I also
tried libinput as well as evdev driver but the issue persisits. I also guessing
this might be wacom driver issue but then it works in other DE and if it was
wacom issue it could be reproduced in other Wm as well.

Please let me know how to provide more information in order to solve this
annoying problem. I cannot paint due this bug report and as a result I was
forced to use different WM

A video demonstrating the bug is also attached here.

P.S. link to previous bug report in krita ->
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370455

The reason of marking this "grave" because my work involves painting 8hrs a day
and due to this bug I can't use kde with krita so it is practically unusable
for me .

thank you

Reproducible: Always

yes changing the wm to openbox helped.
Thus confirming that it is a kwin issue

I wonder how i should describe this while reporting to kwin bugs

marking it resolved invalid now :)

My graphic driver (nvidia) got updated on 09-09-2016 however this issue started

I'll try to test more to see if something on my computer is causing this

2016-10-11 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 370455
Summary: Brush cursor changes to arrow on certain linear areas

  Platform: Other

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

In some areas along the canvas , along a line , the brush cursor changes to
arrow and when users goes to paint by clicking on that particular spot the
cursor changes to grab handle and moves the entire krita window, as if it is
moved by holding the alt key in linux.

I tested if this is the same bug as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363283
but this also happens in import/export refactoring branch which has the fix
for the above mentioned bug.

So I assume this is a different bug.

the cursor changes to arrow along a particular line in different places in
canvas as if it was an edge of a tile. this changes hinders the painting
process as it accidentally moves krita window

[krita] [Bug 369477] New: Transform tool when initiated on group layer disregards layer data of child layers outside of the canvas

2016-09-28 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369477

Bug ID: 369477
Summary: Transform tool when initiated on group layer
disregards layer data of child layers outside of the
canvas
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: transform
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

When the user initiates a transform tool over a group layer the resulting
transformation is only done for the visible parts inside the canvas boundaries
of a group layer. On the other hand when transform is applied to a layer it
correctly takes into account the data that is outside the canvas boundaries.

Disregarding data outside the canvas area has a shortcoming . for example when
we bring a group layer from a considerably bigger document to a smaller one the
groups content are bound to go beyond canvas area , in this scenario user has
to transform all the layers one by one to resize the whole group without
cutting the data which is beyond the canvas boundary.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open a document and add a group layer with some children layer having pixels
beyond the canvas
2.now try to transform the group

Actual Results:
the pixels which are beyond the canvas area are not taken into consideration
while transforming

This is a wish bug request for adding an option in the existing context menu to
add the image as file layer when dragging an image in open document. When a
user drags an image in the document he is presented with a context menu showing
options such as
Insert as new layer
open in new document
etc. I request to add an entry to add the image to open document as a file
layer.

Reproducible: Always

[krita] [Bug 369163] New: Merging selected layers results into new layer with merged data instead of merging them into single layer

2016-09-21 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369163

Bug ID: 369163
Summary: Merging selected layers results into new layer with
merged data instead of merging them into single layer
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Layer Stack
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

This bug introduced in recent master, When a user selects multiple layers then

added to a new layer rather than merging them into one single layers . The
original layers are kept intact.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a document with multiple layers
2.select two or more layers and press ctrl + E

Actual Results:
new layer is created with merged data without merging exisiting layer

Expected Results:
merged data should be in one single layer and all other selected layer should
not be there.

yes in newer builds from source i dont get lag in shift dragging like i
reported initially. it is only jumping of the size that remains like Quiralta
mentioned in the above comment.

[krita] [Bug 367629] New: Symmetry tools (Horizontal and vertical mirror tools ) don't show the axes line or the move handles on canvas

2016-08-20 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367629

Bug ID: 367629
Summary: Symmetry tools (Horizontal and vertical mirror tools )
don't show the axes line or the move handles on canvas
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

The horizontal and vertical mirror tool don't show the line of symmetry or the
axes on canvas , this in-turn moving the line or interacting with it
impossible.

I have tested this both with opengl on and off scenarios the line is not shown
in both cases.

My graphic card is nvidia 750ti 2gb with nvidia proprietary drivers on linux

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open krita and a new document
2.click on the horizontal and vertical mirror tools to activate them
3.you'll notice that the symmetry line is not shown

Filters get applied while adjustment and the preview gets stuck due to this.
This action is sometimes not undoable. Clicking cancel in the filter dialog has
no effect as the filter is already applied while calculating the preview.

Even ctrl + z doesn't bring back the original image sometimes, then closing
document without saving and reopening it is only choice.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open any image in krita
2.trigger any filter like hue saturation or Gaussian blur and adjust the
sliders
3.you'll notice the filter gets stuck at some point, while the layer panel
shows progress of filter application
4. cancel the dialog and you'll notice that it doesn't cancel the filter

I asked on IRC and it seems this is only on linux as scottyp couldn't reproduce
it in windows.
Quiralta on IRC confirmed that this happens to him too. both of us have arch
linux machines. so we need to check on other distros too.

I am marking this major as filters are a bit unusable in this condition

The shift drag brush resize is slower in recent git builds. Dmitry told that
this may be related to the HUD work.

Resizing a brush from 0 to 1000 takes two or three swipes, this hinders a
smooth painting experience and is somewhat cumbersome.

I have already made a task on phabricator at dmitry's request here it is ->

I have experienced similar freezes and eventual crashes lately.

it is sometimes triggered with layer moving up and down in stack or using move
tool
once it happens i can somewhat interact with the UI but i can't save my work
niether any operations are done on the canvas.

while saving it pops up waiting for image operation dialog box.

i waited for some time to get these operation finished but when i clicked the
canvas i got a crash and this back trace.

[krita] [Bug 364850] New: If a layer in layer docker is clicked and the docker has a scrollbar , canvas zoom with scrollwheel is gone

2016-06-28 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364850

Bug ID: 364850
Summary: If a layer in layer docker is clicked and the docker
has a scrollbar , canvas zoom with scrollwheel is gone
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

When the layer docker gets a scrollbar and user clicks on any one of the layer,
canvas zoom with the scroll wheel is not possible as the layer docker is
scrolled instead. as if the focus of the mouse is in the layer docker even when
the user has clicked on the canvas.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open an image with many layers so and arrange the layer docker so that it has
a scrollbar
2.click on any one of the layer
3.now try to zoom the canvas with the mouse scrollwheel

Actual Results:
the layer docker is scrolled instead of the canvas zoom function

Expected Results:
when the user clicks or returns to canvas, user should be able to use mouse
scrollwheel to zoom in and out of the canvas

in my opinion this may be somehow related to this bug report ->

[krita] [Bug 364848] New: Krita adds more to memory usage, after opening and closing several files

2016-06-28 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364848

Bug ID: 364848
Summary: Krita adds more to memory usage, after opening and
closing several files
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

When you try to edit many files in a sequence ( example pages of a comic) krita
goes on adding memory to the ram usage .
Ideally krita should re-use the allocated memory of the previously closed image
for the newly opened one but krita goes on adding extra memory. So much so that
my 16 gb memory gets full and systems starts to use swap which also eventually
runs out.

I have discussed this on IRC and scottpy also noticed the unusual memory usage
on windows.
I have also shared the test files with dmitry and scottyp

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open one file. do something in it like changing color space resizing layers
etc
2.close the file and open another one.
3.repeat the process

Actual Results:
you'll notice that krita adds to the memory usage

Expected Results:
Once image is closed krita should use the memory for the other image opened
after that

[frameworks-kimageformats] [Bug 354413] psd thumbnails are not loading in dolphin

2016-06-18 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354413

Hi Wolfgang Bauer,

Sorry I forgot that thumbnailers are different than dolphin.
 >Is "Previews" enabled in general, and is the image thumbnailer in particular
activated in Dolphin's settings->General->Previews?

yes previews are enabled in general, the image thumbnailer is activated

>Are all thumbnails "broken", or just PSD?

No all thumbnails are not broken , the png jpg etc have thumbnails , it is just
psd.
the psd files which had thumbnails earlier now only have the icon.
I will attach a test file , which is created with krita ( please note all files
are affected even psd created with photoshop and gimp too not just krita, I
dont have photoshop now so can't create a fresh test psd from it hence
attaching a psd created by krita)

>And also try to wipe out the thumbnails cache (~/.cache/thumbnails/) and/or
>try a fresh user account, maybe the already generated previews got corrupted
>somehow.

I wiped the thumbnails folder , and also checked under new user, it didn't
help.

the image dimension is 5260x7440

I convert an already existing 16 bit document to 16 bit float , then converted
it to 8 bit , and then hit undo, it didn't crash for me.

It did take a long while and used all the 16 gb memeory and some swap while
the process,
I tried it several tried it didn't crash for me

I encountered this issue in recent git update,

at certain area on the canvas the cursor turns to arrow and if you start to
paint stroke inthese area the mouse cursor gets stuck to arrow and no paint is
applied on canvas.

you can see the video here ->
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3793/mouse.mp4 (i'll attach this to
report as well) notice the dead zone circle in black stroke at 0.30s

these dead zones are created randomly anywhere near the area you are panting

+1 for mirroring to be active while drawing inside a selection.

If a user has activated mirror or symmetry modes , the portion which he draws
inside a selection (marching ants) don't get mirrored.

Having this feature will be of great help.

I have the exact same card ( nvidia 750 ti 2gb) and I can reproduce the issue
on windows 10. I tested with a driver dated 8/7/2015, I'll update the driver
and text again ,

let me know if I can give any logs which may help find the issue more
specifically

I don't get the jagged edges while using the dynamic brush but I get them when
using the freehand brush tool. I used exact same settings given by you.

I am also attaching the output

I am using wacom intuos4 medium on windows 10,
I am using the latest builds from kickstarter announcement ->
http://files.kde.org/krita/3/windows/devbuilds/krita-3.0-Beta-master-d330a4a-x64.zip

I have nvidia 750ti graphic card

[krita] [Bug 363003] opening png doesn't work

2016-05-13 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363003

@ n1k0l4 thank you for sharing the file. I can reproduce the bug with your
file

I logged in on a spare windows 10 machine and i could open pngs in my system ,
i also tried with png downloaded from internet ( ex: this one ->
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Network_Graphics#/media/File:PNG_transparency_demonstration_1.png)
you can try it too.

However when I open the png provided by you I get the same screen as you , so
in a way I can reproduce the bug on windows 10 as stated by you but only with
your file.

Thank you for sharing the file once again , i'll try to open it in linux
version of krita

I am experiencing this too,

actually this was a older bug which re surfaced again , I closed it earlier
because it was not easily reproducible.

But now i get this crash for 3 out of 5 times while transforming , i got 4
crashes yesterday alone.

The older bug is here -> https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360786 ,
I am marking it a duplicate of this bug

[krita] [Bug 362789] New: Layer docker loses focus while renaming in floating mode (undocked mode)

2016-05-07 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362789

Bug ID: 362789
Summary: Layer docker loses focus while renaming in floating
mode (undocked mode)
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

When the layer docker is undocked and kept floating above the canvas or other
place, it becomes near impossible to rename a layer, as it constantly loses
focus and the text entry field is reset . even if we trigger the text entr
field by pressing the f2 button , the moment we type text it loses the focus
and the canvas get's in focus thus triggering the keyboard shortcuts. Double
clicking on the layer name is not usefull as the text field is de selected the
moment we double click making it nearly impossible to rename .

P.S. I also assume that this focus issue is shared with other dockers as well ,
which need thorough testing

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open krita and a new document, then add two or three layers
2.Undock the layer docker and keep it floating somewhere above the canvas
3.double click ont he layer name to trigger text field for renaming
4. if that doesn't work press f2 to trigger text input field, then start typing

Actual Results:
the focus of the text input field is lost immediately when it is triggered thus
making it impossible to rename a layer when layer docker is in floating mode

Expected Results:
layer docker or any component shouldn't loose focus while in free floating mode

I have made a video fo the problem, notice the title flicker changes itself as
if it is out of focus and greyed out. Also see that the text field is gone as
soon as it is triggered. ->

file to bug tracker too)

2016-04-27 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

When a user changes some shortcut , krita retains them after restart but when
the user changes something again and restarts krita , the first set of changes
are gone and the second set only remains.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open krita and add a shortcut , say for outline selection tool ( e.g Shift
+p)
2.restart krita , the outline selection has its shortcut intact. (i.e shift +
p)
3.Now again add one more shortcut say for polygon selection too ( e.g Shift +
A)
4. restart krita , the shortcut for polygon selection tool is retained bu the
shortcut for outilne selecton tool set initially is lost.

Actual Results:
upon restart previously edited shortcut are lost on subsequent changes to
shortcut . Only the last changed shortcuts are remembered.

Expected Results:
all the changes should be remembered not just last change upon restart

confirmed

P.S. 'C' is indeed duplicated in the default shortcuts scheme and thus further
adds to the confusion.

I tried with another shortcut too , 'F' is for fill tool , i tried to assign
this to gradient tool , it complained that 'F' is assigned to Fill tool and
action of straightening line segment. so next time when i want to re assign F
for fill tool it complains
