On 24.05.2 I can't reproduce 100% of the time. I had two examples when i posted
this, and I tried twice more, and one is working and one isn't. I'm not sure
what the common denominator is though.

Just installed 24.08.0 : seems to work for now, i haven't investigated much

Bug ID: 492577
Summary: Preview render with "change speed" keeping 100% speed
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 24.05.2
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: roxane.pet...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Hello ! There's an issue with preview rendering when clips are sped up or
slowed down with "change speed" (or ctrl + slide end). The clip's speed isn't
changed in the preview render. It still works with a normal render.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. To easily see : cut clip in 2, speed up the first part, move the 2nd part to
touch the first. Everything should still be smooth
2. preview render the part of the timeline

OBSERVED RESULT
The first clip isn't sped up, there's a definite cut between both clips

EXPECTED RESULT
first clip should be sped up

Summary: Some wishes for KDE plasma
Classification: I don't know

  Platform: Fedora RPMs

Status: REPORTED

System monitor screenshot

Heya.

First of all great job in Plasma 6

I have some wishes that i've though about when i was testing Fedora KDE on my
main system.

System info:
System Manufacturer: ASRock
System Model: X670E Taichi
BIOS: 2.10 (type: UEFI)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor(16 CPUs), ~4.2GHz
Memory: 65536MB RAM
Display Device: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
SSD: Samsung SSD 960 EVO 1TB
Monitor BenQ BL3200PT (1440P 60hz)

With that out of the way:

1: Cursors
I don't know if part of linux in general. But i've always found the cursors to
be of low resolution, it is especially noticeable when using the dark mode
Breeze with the black cursor with white outer lining. Its like its pixelated
and have often gone to the Breeze Light version of the mouse or installed a
different cursor which makes it less visible. Never really noticed it on
windows unless i ran it a low resolution, but i'm running at 1440P and still
notice it.

When we at cursors unsure if its due to wayland and X11. But from time to time
in different applications does the cursor not keeps it appearance. Like in
Steam, it will default to a black cursor and go back again when moving outside
the window.

2: System Monitor
It does its job, but i feel like it could use a more modern design. Something
akin to Resources from flathub. Its sleek, simple with good graphical display
https://flathub.org/apps/net.nokyan.Resources

3: Graphic Card Information
Nothing really wrong with the text window for easy copy paste, but could be
nice to have a GUI version where thing is listed a little more easy viewable
way like what GPU-viewer does
https://flathub.org/apps/io.github.arunsivaramanneo.GPUViewer

4: Disable devices
This is mostly related to graphic card. But i've had an issue with running my
R7 7800X3D and my 7900XTX. That it somehow defaults to my 7800X3D built-in GPU
and only and easiest way to fix it as to go into my bios and disable it, which
i find a little annoying if one day i have to debug my system without a
dedicated graphic card and i have to reset cmos in order to use the built-in
GPU again. Could be nice to have something like Device Manager like windows
have where i can simply disable it by a GUI

5: Programs installed and to uninstall
Neither flatpaks software nor Discover or App launcher do i find does a good
job when you have to uninstall stuff. I would love if when you go into
Discovers Installed apps that it would give me and option to list view it with
much smaller bars. Scrolling though that list seems bulky and clumsy. Something
that looks like what Windows 10 and past windows had with Program and Features
would make it much easier to get a better overview of what i have.

6: KDE Plasma Panel
I would to see a setting where i can self adjust the opacity. As it is now i
can only slightly see the difference between translucent and opaque. Another
thing would be nice too is being able to set color of the panels

7: Right Click App laucher
A feature i loved about Windows is the ability to right click the Start button
and get a quick menu of administrative settings. Like Device managed, Computer
Management, Disk Management, Terminal ect. Could be neat to have that

  Reporter: roxane.pet...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Hello ! there's been a weird behaviour with compositions in the latest version.
When I try to move one, i can't make it move more than one track over or
horizontally, if I want to move in 2 directions, i have to ungrab and regrab.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make a composition
2. try to move it a lot

OBSERVED RESULT
can"t move a lot

EXPECTED RESULT
moves wherever the mouse cursor goes

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
On the topic of compositions, what's the recommended way to paste them where i
want? Before, it just went where the mouse cursor was which was perfect in my
eyes, but now it depends on the timeline cursor and the selected track and it
takes me like 10 times as long to copy a composition where i want it

[kdenlive] [Bug 477049] New: [feature request] Add a button to download Library clips (and others) from the KDE store in Kdenlive

Status: REPORTED

  Target Milestone: ---

Hello,
I was searching for a button or thing to click on to download library clips
from the KDE store (https://store.kde.org/browse?cat=333&ord=latest) directly
in Kdenlive, but it apparently isn't a thing, and think it would be great to
have it. There is one for Effects, and one for Title clips, but none for
Library clips, or Project files, and i'm not sure about the others.

Actually, it would be even better to have only one place where all of those
could be accessed because i think they are quite hard to find currently, like
maybe in Settings -> Add-ons or something, and then you'd have categories.

I hope that's possible, and thanks for everything,
Roxane

[kdenlive] [Bug 476625] New: Shakiness with composite and transform (and composite) when zooming

2023-11-06 Thread Roxane
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476625

Bug ID: 476625
Summary: Shakiness with composite and transform (and composite)
when zooming
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 23.08.1
  Platform: Microsoft Windows

Status: REPORTED

  Reporter: roxane.pet...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Hello,
for the past few versions, there's been an issue with Composite & Transform,
when using multiple tracks with compositions between them and zooming in or
out. It might also be a problem with an interaction with Transform? I'm not
sure when it started, and i'm not sure if it's a Windows only issue or not, and
I tried to do some testing on both Linux and Windows but ran into issues with
versions not launching.

I'm sure there's other situations where you can see the problem, but here is
what i've been making (you can see the same thing in my last tuto
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8OekPfbri0)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Take an image or make a title clip with a big square, we'll call that Image
2. Add a color clip on v1, and Image on v2 and v3
3. Add Transform at 80% on Image on v3
4. Transform at 83% and Brightness at max on Image on v2
5. Add Composite and transform between all tracks
6. On the one between v1 and v2, change the last frame to 90%

OBSERVED RESULT
The image is shaky during the zooming out

EXPECTED RESULT
It should be smooth

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I attached videos on different versions of kdenlive, I tried to install older
Windows versions but for some reasons they wouldn't work, so I used the
appimages on my VM. And I tried the latest appimage but it wouldn't launch, so
my information is not very scientific since multiple parameters are changing,
but I tried my best.

SO it seems i can only add one video, so here's a drive :

[kdenlive] [Bug 448209] New: Animated template title clip disappears before it should

2022-01-10 Thread Roxane

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

So this one is pretty specific, when you make a template title clip with %s for
the text, and a "scrolling" animation by moving the start and end points, when
you add the template title and fill out the text with multiple lines of text,
the clip itself will become fully transparent (no text) before the end of the
scroll. The title clip 'empties' when the first line goes out of the screen,
aka the same line as the %s. If you add multiple empty lines after the %s when
you make the template, the clip will empty after that number of lines.
I'm not sure it's clear at all i'm sorry, hopefully trying it will show the
issue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open title clip window, write %s in the middle centering the text
2. animation time: move the start just above the %s and the end quite bit
under, at least a frame height lower
3. save the clip as a .kdenlivetitle
4. Project -> add template title, fill out the text bow with multiple lines of
text
5. Play clip to see the result

OBSERVED RESULT
clip empties before the 5s are up, with text still on the screen

EXPECTED RESULT
you can compare by going back to your first tile clip and changing the %s for
multiple lines of text, it will scroll until the end of the 5s

SUMMARY
when video grid is applied to a clip with alpha, at a non-zero value, it makes
the alpha black. There's also any issues with alpha shapes + video grid but i'm
not sure it's the exact same thing. I'm pretty sure it worked a few months ago
though. (also sorry for the many reports i made recently)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

[kdenlive] [Bug 447982] New: Fonts with overlap show them as transparent

2022-01-05 Thread Roxane
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447982

Bug ID: 447982
Summary: Fonts with overlap show them as transparent
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 21.12.0
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: roxane.pet...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
So ever since i have started working with kdenlive (2013?) there's been this
issue, which i never reported because i could do my text on gimp when it
happened, but i figured it would be worth mentioning : some fonts which have
parts of letters overlaying each other result in transparency in that
overlaying spot. It doesn't show on the clip editor but does on the timeline
and rendered video. These fonts work fine in other softwares such as Gimp or
Inkscape.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In my case this time, i was using the font adelia (found on dafont), and
Playfair Display (google fonts)
2. make a title clip and write "LE" in adelia, and "PA" in Playfair Display
Black (other strings work as well ofc, but i know these show the problem)
3. Confirm and put clip on the timeline

OBSERVED RESULT
the overlapping part between the L and the E is transparent. The end of the
half-circle of the P that goes into its bar is transparent, the end of the
horizontal bar of the A on the left is also transparent.

EXPECTED RESULT
the letters are fully opaque

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
all versions across linux and windows

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
here's the video i was making: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmPkCNW72Ak, you
can see a few seconds in "PART" has the issues mentionned. The script font also

[kdenlive] [Bug 447786] New: Composition and rotoscoping interaction issue

2022-01-01 Thread Roxane
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447786

Bug ID: 447786
Summary: Composition and rotoscoping interaction issue
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 21.12.0
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: roxane.pet...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 145014
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=145014&action=edit
video recording of the issue

SUMMARY
When rotoscoping is applied to a clip that is not the full size of the project
and said clip is composed to another clip, the rotoscoping changes, it doesn't
cut the same thing anymore

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have 2 tracks, one with any clip, and the top one with a png that's not the
same size as the project (in my case 1311x1080 for a 1080p project)
2. Apply rotoscoping on the png, for example around a key feature (to noticze
the change)
3. add a composite & transform transition (but i think others work too) between
the 2 clips

OBSERVED RESULT
The rotoscoping is not cutting the key feature anymore. You can notice it by
dragging the transition away and back.

EXPECTED RESULT
Rotoscoping doesn't change

SUMMARY
The opacity slider in composite on windows doesn't seem to work. I tried with
multiple wipes. If the value is 1% to 100%, it's as if it were 100%, 0% is
still 0%.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. add composite transition between 2 clips
2. change opacity value to any value that's not 100% (or 0%)

OBSERVED RESULT
The top clip stays fully visible until it disappears at 0%.

EXPECTED RESULT
the 2 clips should 'mix' according to the chosen wipe

SUMMARY
I have been having this issue forever and was living with it, but I want to try
to solve it. When you're working on a title clip, ALt + R is supposed to make a
rectangle. But sometimes (i'm not sure when), I get an error message saying
it's an ambiguous shortcut and i should go to the settings to solve it. The
thing is, there's nothing (not even the rectangle thing) related to Alt+R in
the shortcut settings...
Somebody on the forum said they were able to reproduce on windows too

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. project -> add title clip
2. press Alt + R
3. error pop-up shows up

OBSERVED RESULT

Hello, I tried (with 20.12.3a) and it's still the same, although I do have more
info. The pixelation gets worse with the lowering of the monitor resolution, as
if there is some kind of blur on the non-roto A but not on the roto A. ALso, It
doesn't do it in all the modes. In "write on clear", it looks pixelated, but
not on "minimum", so i guess it doesn't really matter since it works fine with
minimum.

It changes when I click the button "Update Title" on the bottom right of the
titler.

I tried in 21.07.70, and it doesn't change length after, but there's still a
discrepancy between the length in the settings (5s) and the length of the clip
4:23s

[kdenlive] [Bug 435213] New: Title clip length changes when updating title

2021-04-01 Thread Roxane
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435213

Bug ID: 435213
Summary: Title clip length changes when updating title
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 20.12.3
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: roxane.pet...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
So this a really weird (and minor) one, and i had not really noticed what
exactly happened until today, but I had noticed my title clips were not all the
same length in the bin. I now have noticed that every time i hit "update title"
in the editor, the title clip shortens by one frame.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create title clip (even empty works). In my case, it should be 5s long, but
ends up being 4:23 (in 24fps).
2. double click on its thumbnail to edit it
3. the length of the clip automatically changes to 4:22
4. repeat 2 and it will shorten again and again

OBSERVED RESULT
Title clip has shorten length than is defined in the parameters

EXPECTED RESULT
Title clip stays length defined in the parameters.

Me again, it is still buggy, if i first apply roto, then select the clip to see
the yellow message saying to add points, then zoom in the monitor, it works
fine. If i'm zoomed in, then add roto and start adding points, there's a

SUMMARY
When the bottom clip is a mlt stabilized clip, and the top one has a transform
effect, it behaves weirdly. It's scaled down. It does not happen with the same
not-stab clip. Here's a video in case it's not clear :
https://youtu.be/o1zK12kOh6Y

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Stabilize a clip through clip jobs
2. put it on track 1
3. add another clip on track 2
4. Add transform to that clip

OBSERVED RESULT
Transform without changed scales the clip down and moves it to the left, but
the red rectangle is still big.

It should not chnage the clip at all

[kdenlive] [Bug 432621] Big problems in rendered video

2021-02-07 Thread Roxane
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432621

(comment written minutes before yours)
After spending more time to try to render this thing, i figured out that the
weird white grain seen at the beginning is because of the bézier curves, and
that there were some issues with the speeds (showing wrong parts of the clip eg
my finger, but the actually clip on the timeline starts after that). When
taking a speed-less clip and copying the effect minus the bézier curves, it
rendered fine

(after trying that new version)
It worked perfectly! thank you so much

SUMMARY
I don't even know how to describe this so I made a quick video (link at the
end)
Basically, I made a video on the 20.12 appimage with a few tracks and effects.
There's some chroma key, rotoscoping, bézier curves, key spill mop up, flippo &
speed change. When i edit and pre-render, everything looks fine, but after
rendering it's a mess. I rendered in mp4 with and without parallel processing,
nothing worked.

So here's the video, first is the rendered failure, second is the slighlty
choppy prerender, and last is a screenshot of the effects on one clip, they
pretty much all have the same ones : https://youtu.be/rOw4eBGxr4E

Hi.
I'm not sure for how long, but i'm pretty sure it worked about a month ago, but
the Rotoscoping effect has stopped working completely. Before i could just
click the preview to start making the mask, but now it only starts the video,
and i haven't been able to find somethig that works.
Also i'd like to point out that we can no longer select all the points to move
them at the same time (or i don't know how, but it used to work with shift)
I'd be very grateful if anybody knows someway to fix this.
Thanks,
