[kate] [Bug 451764] New: Uncomment commented code block doesn't uncomment but instead adds extra comment prefix

2022-03-21 Thread Sander van Grieken
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451764

Bug ID: 451764
Summary: Uncomment commented code block doesn't uncomment but
instead adds extra comment prefix
   Product: kate
   Version: 21.12.3
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: san...@outrightsolutions.nl

SUMMARY

Using the comment-selection function (on QML in my case), the code gets
commented out using '//'.
Trying to uncomment the same selection afterwards instead adds another '//'
resulting in '' for each line

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open QML file
2. Use Ctrl-/ to comment a block of code
3. Use Ctrl-/ again to uncomment that block

OBSERVED RESULT

double comment prefix

EXPECTED RESULT

comment prefix removed

Also can reproduce.

- two monitors
- no overlap
- 1920x1080 left of 3840x2160 monitor
- left monitor shifts menu down
- right monitor shifts menu right (similar to reporter's screenshot)

Right momnitor has 150% scaling, although setting it to 100% during the session
doesn't change the problem

[kwin] [Bug 429545] Alt-TAB between two windows sometimes focuses another window

2021-12-09 Thread Sander van Grieken
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429545

--- Comment #11 from Sander van Grieken ---
Interesting.. It seems the problem is triggered when I have one specific
firefox tab opened (containing a webapp, not static content).
If another tab is active on that firefox window (with the webapp tab still
running in the non-active tab), the problem disappears.
The problem still appears, if the offending tab is active and if the window is
not focussed between alt-tabs between two other windows.

[kwin] [Bug 429545] Alt-TAB between two windows sometimes focuses another window

2021-11-08 Thread Sander van Grieken
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429545

--- Comment #7 from Sander van Grieken ---
Adding a bit more info before testing your suggestions:
- Window activation policy: Click to focus
- Focus stealing prevention: None
- Click raises active window: enabled (other checkboxes in Focus tab disabled)
- Desktop effects: Slide back, Fade, Squash, Translucency (and a few others,
but unlikely related to focus)

One interesting thing I noticed, I used 'xev' to test if my Tab key was
creating extra events. It didn't, but after using 'xev' it seems alt-Tab is
working as it should. So maybe some undefined state on the XWayland side of
things gets initialized?

I will try a different keyboard once I can find my old one in the basement.

In the meantime, doing a quick test again with 5.23.3 hits this issue almost
immediately..
This is my setup:
- Wayland session
- Standard US keyboard layout
- Two monitors
- Couple of Firefox windows and KDEPIM using XWayland
- Some native wayland windows like Konsole, Dolphin
- maybe relevant Task Switcher settings: sort order = recently used. filter
windows = current desktop, current activity. visuallization = breeze, show
selected window enabled

2020-11-23 Thread Sander van Grieken

Bug ID: 429546
Summary: Create Event from email not respecting selected

  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: san...@outrightsolutions.nl
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Actually multiple UI issues with this functionality.

When selecting Create Event from email, a panel opens where you can select the
calendar. I have the default Personal Calendar and also a CalDAV calendar.

Problems:
1. When immediately selecting Save nothing is saved, regardless of selected
calendar.
2. After 1, when doing Create Event on the same email again, the description
stays empty where normally the email subject is pre-filled
3. If choosing Open editor.. the selected calendar in the panel is not taken
into the calendar selection combo in the popup dialog
4. If choosing the second (caldav) calendar, still the default local Personal
Calendar is used to save the event

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Alt-tabbing between two windows sometimes moves focus to a third window, making
the alt-tab non-deterministic, impairing workflow.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Not exactly sure how to reproduce, it seems probabilistic, it sometimes takes
15-20 times to alt-tab to trigger the bug.

1. have three windows open
2. press alt-tab 15-20 times to switch between two windows, releasing alt key
after each window switch
3. observe you start switching to the third window after a number of times.

OBSERVED RESULT

alt-tabbing between two windows sometimes starts switching to a third window

EXPECTED RESULT

alt-tabbing between two windows always switches between the two latest windows
that had focus

OS: Unspecified
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor

SUMMARY

When using a dark theme, the inactive tabs in a tabbar are very hard to
distinguish from the active tab.

A cursory look through the code shows the active tab uses the Window Normal
Background, and the inactive tabs use a slight darken filter on that color.

On dark themes, the difference is lost.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. select (very) dark theme
2. observe tabs in System Settings/Application Style for Breeze

[kmail2] [Bug 401685] New: context menu option for mailing list actions confused about which list is relevant

2018-12-03 Thread Sander van Grieken

Bug ID: 401685
Summary: context menu option for mailing list actions confused

   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: san...@outrightsolutions.nl
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I have an email in my Inbox (so non-mailing list folder), that enables Mailing
List options in the context menu in the message view pane. The email only has a
List-Unsubscribe header (No List-Id header). The context menu options however
show actions for the previously visited mailing list folder.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click on an email in a mailing list folder (let's call it List X)
2. Right-click mail content page
3. observe Mailing List options for List X
4. Click mail in non Mailing List folder, but containing a List-Unsubscribe
header
5. Right-click mail content page
6. observe Mailing List context menu label incorrectly refers to List X

OBSERVED RESULT

Context menu label refers to Mailing List X. However, the context menu
correctly only contains an option for unsubscribing.

EXPECTED RESULT

Context menu label for Mailing List options should not use the label for
unrelated List X.

Using 17.12.3-1 from Debian Buster.

When I rightclick on an email (the main message view), there's an option Add
Followup Reminder. Clicking that, there's a dialog with a date field and a
calendar dropdown. When I set a date and choose a calendar, the reminder is
created as a ToDo item.

When I go to the ToDo section in Kontact, and I open the reminder, there is no
Due date set, and the reminder section is greyed out.

I would expect a Due date to be checked (at 0:00 time), and the reminder
section not greyed out.
