[plasmashell] [Bug 366333] Plasma-5 crash using sddm as login manager using "users switch".
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366333 Sandro changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|BACKTRACE |FIXED Status|NEEDSINFO |RESOLVED --- Comment #11 from Sandro --- Ok now i've made some experiment: I tried with "Funtoo Stable" with xorg-server-1.17.4 and "nouveau" drivers. The users exchange now takes place on a regular basis. Then the problem is probably due to the release of xorg-server and / or proprietary nvidia-drivers. Sorry for this bug report; Now the "users-switch" seems to work properly. I tried it with "Funtoo Stable" with xorg-server-1.17.4 and "nouveau" drivers. The users exchange now takes place on a regular basis. Then the problem is probably due to the release of xorg-server and / or proprietary nvidia-drivers. But I also tried other distributions as Manjaro and devuan; with them there were problems with nouveau. I hope this feedback can be considered "positive" :) I will write in "nvidia.com" that there are troubles with graphics proprietary drivers _'_ Thanks for All _'_ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Tell me if may be a good idea or not; and i've necessity about a "little" assintance ... cause for me is the first time that i try to introduce "debugging" in my sytem. However i've started the emerge -e world. Excuse my ignorance but i wish to learn so can give to you a good feedback. [plasmashell] [Bug 366333] Plasma-5 crash using sddm as login manager using "users switch".
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366333 --- Comment #3 from Sandro --- I tried it with the drivers nouveau. But with nouveau i've some troubles. Then i think may be better to focus on my (and others) systems with the nvidia-drivers; i have necessity to use nvidia-drivers because I have to be able to use technology "cuda" & "OpenCL". Some time ago I have already reported in the nvidia forum my problem. But there was no answer. Since my system is Funtoo (similar to Gentoo) , i give You a link with my configuration files: https://github.com/Sandro1972/My_Funtoo_config_files_and_Scripts/ I've build my system using those config_files . _'_ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[bugs.kde.org] [Bug 366333] New: Plasma-5 crash using sddm as login manager using "users switch".
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366333 Bug ID: 366333 Summary: Plasma-5 crash using sddm as login manager using "users switch". Product: bugs.kde.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: sysad...@kde.org Reporter: alcerb1...@gmail.com CC: she...@kde.org Example: If I open a session (plasma-5 on Funtoo Linux "Stable" 64 bits" with my user; Then I switch to another user; Then I close the 2nd session; I obtain error (graphical system crashes). There is a message but for systemd i think. But My Funtoo uses OpenRC. I had this trouble also with plasma-4 with kdm as login manager. I use nvidia-drivers (proprietary from the "Portage"). Thanx. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: plasma5 doesn't crash whit multisession. kernel 4.4.6 (gentoo-sources) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdm] [Bug 357425] New: Random failure switching user
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357425 Bug ID: 357425 Summary: Random failure switching user Product: kdm Version: unspecified Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: kdmdesktop Assignee: kdm-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: alcerb1...@gmail.com I've KDE 4.14.3 on Funtoo Linux 64 bits. Sometimes kdm "crashes" switching user: for example: Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.1) User 1 make the login 2) Using "switch useer", the 2nd user make a login. 3) the 2nd user close him session. 4) The kdm doesn't compare and i must manually shutdown and restart kdm from a tty (/etc/init.d/kdm restart). 2. 3. My system has a nvidia GTX660. The trouble is not related to "proprietary drivers" i think, since it the same situation also using "nouveau" drivers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
