Is it planned to publish the patch by Maik Qualmann? If I'm not wrong, digiKam

by Capture One, XnViewMP or ON1). digiKam seems very nice indeed but I cannot

5 years later, I dig up this bug report.
I had an issue with asteroid position but it was due to 1 hour drift with
kstars time.

Set your position in kstars (paris for example). Set kstars to be now. Then
change date of your operating system in order to start or end the daylight
saving time. Then set kstars to now. Kstars will not applied DST change and
shows a gap of 1 hour in my case.

In the location windows, the DST parameters for Paris is EU and shows the same
start time and revert time which is wrong.

DST 2017 (France).
Start: 02:00 sunday 26 march
End: 03:00 sunday 29 october

TZ rules are hardcoded in locationdialog.cpp and there is a file named
TZrules.dat with data duplicated.

The position in Stellarium is absolutely right compared to our picture frame.

Hi Jasem,

Thank you for your tip. Unfortunately, it solves only a part of my bug report.
In kstars desktop, you have access to the magnitude parameters, not in kstars
lite.
The fact is, with 2 versions of the software, I was not able as a user to
display this particular asteroid. I understand why you have to limit the number
of asteroids in order to keep the performance of kstars.
But I think that when a user ask for an object, this request should override
global parameters, and added to the kstars database.

What do you think ?

[kstars] [Bug 384057] Feature request : Apparent size of an object in the observation planner

2017-08-26 Thread Sebastien
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384057

--- Comment #4 from Sebastien <sebastien.lecler...@gmail.com> ---
Yes ok, this is already what I'm doing so forget the graphical part of my wish.
But imagine you have dozen of object in your list, then you have to select one
by one to compare object size with your sensor size.
It would be great to add one more criteria to reduce the size of the list.

[kstars] [Bug 384057] Feature request : Apparent size of an object in the observation planner

2017-08-26 Thread Sebastien
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384057

--- Comment #2 from Sebastien <sebastien.lecler...@gmail.com> ---
Exactly.
Like in dso-browser website. Actually in kstars, filter includes type of
object, magnitude, height in the sky. Size in the sky is missing and would help
to choose a target.

To be perfect, it would be great to visualise the fov with an overlay square.
It's a shame to use an external tool like dso-browser, then a python script to
convert into ekos, while everything you need can be done with one software.

Are you a user of dso-browser Jasem. If it is, you certainly know what I mean.

It would be great to view in the table and to filter selection with the
apparent size of an object in the sky in the observation planner.
It will help to choose the perfect target in relation with user equipment.

--- Comment #77 from Sebastien Renard <ren...@kde.org> ---
I confirmed this issue with kmail 5.5.2 (openuse 42.3). It also happened with
local folders (maildir). Akonadi restart does not work.
Two workarounds works :
- clear akonadi cache on the folder and restart akonadi and kmail
- connect to mysql to delete items (see comment 75)

It happened multiple times per day and make kmail amost unusable...

Yes it's possible. I launched an automatic sequence which contains an
astrometry process. I was moving the planetarium in kstars to show where my
scope was pointing and the kde crash messagebox appeared.
