[kate] [Bug 464645] New: Alternate shortcut for Focus/Defocus Terminal Panel only Focus Terminal Panel but Default shortcut of Focus/Defocus Terminal Panel , Focus and Defocus Terminal Panel both.

2023-01-22 Thread Subham Poddar

Bug ID: 464645
Summary: Alternate shortcut for Focus/Defocus Terminal Panel
only Focus Terminal Panel but Default shortcut of
Focus/Defocus Terminal Panel , Focus and Defocus
Terminal Panel both.
Classification: Applications
   Product: kate
   Version: 22.12.1
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raninepa...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
While terminal is opened when editing a file using F4, Ctrl+Shift+F4 is
default shortcut for Focus/Defocus Terminal Panel . On using Ctrl+Shift+F4 ,
Defocus Terminal Panel happens where active cursor moves from terminal area to
text editing area , on using same shortcut Focus Terminal Panel happens where
active cursor moves from text editing area to Terminal. But if you set
alternate shortcut key for Focus/Defocus Terminal Panel and on pressing the
alternate shortcut key only Focus Terminal Panel happens but again on pressing
alternate shortcut key Defocus Terminal Panel does not happen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a text file to edit and press F4 to bring terminal panel.
2. Set alternate shortcut for Defocus/Focus Terminal panel.
3. Use alternate shortcut set while cursor is active at text editing area ,
where you will notice focus moving from cursor from text editing area to
terminal area but on again using same alternate shortcut focus does not move
back to text editing area.
4. Now use default shortcut , which is Ctrl+Shift+F4 . Focus moves back and
forth from text editing area and terminal area .

OBSERVED RESULT
Alternate shortcut set for Focus/Defocus Terminal Panel does have same behavior
as default shortcut. Basically alternate shortcut only Focus Terminal Panel but
does Defocus Terminal panel

EXPECTED RESULT
Both alternate shortcut and default shortcut should have same behavior.
Alternate shortcut should Focus Terminal Panel and Defocus Terminal panel.

I would like to state that I also second this request. It would be helpful if
there was a option for floating panel to be always floating, instead of
becoming like normal panel when window is maximized regardless whether Kwin
Script "Maximized Window Gap" is used.

Okay, you are correct that background is always slightly translucent. What
about panel being displayed when Show Desktop icon is clicked then Application
Dashboard is opened?
Why did you change Status to Resolved Intentional?
Was I meant to file separate bug for it?

Bug ID: 454596
Summary: When changing the Keyword delimiter from colon to
space or space to colon , change does not come into
effect immediately and web search does not work for
changed value.
   Product: krunner
   Version: 5.24.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux

  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: webshortcuts
  Assignee: alexander.loh...@gmx.de
  Reporter: raninepa...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Let Keyword delimiter be colon . So when I type "g:apple" in KRunner , Krunner
shows option to search google for "apple" . But if I change the Keyword
delimiter from colon to space and I type "g apple" , Krunner does not show
option to search google for "apple" . But after restart of my computer ,
Keyword delimiter as space starts working , i.e. when I type "g apple" ,
Krunner shows option to search google for "apple" . Same thing happens when
Keyword delimiter is changed from space to colon . From this behaviour, I
observed changed value of Keyword delimiter does not come into effect
immediately and changed value only works after restart of the computer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change the value of Keyword delimiter.
2. Open Krunner
3. Type to web search in KRunner with the changed Keyword delimiter, for
example if Keyword delimiter was changed to space from colon then type "g
apple"

OBSERVED RESULT
No option to search on the web

EXPECTED RESULT
An option to search web
