[kate] [Bug 488407] New: Add: Edit Undo All and Redo All

2024-06-12 Thread Teddy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488407

Bug ID: 488407
Summary: Add: Edit Undo All and Redo All
Classification: Applications
   Product: kate
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: report...@mailna.biz
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The ability to Undo and Redo work as intended, but wish to have the ability to
undo or redo all at once. As it is, I have to keep Control+Z or Ctrl+Shift+Z
pressed until the icons are greyed out.

Keyboard shortcuts may not be needed, just to have the option in Menu.

[partitionmanager] [Bug 462033] KDE Partition Manager does not update free used space on encrypted partition

2023-01-01 Thread Teddy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462033

This is Theodore's comment:

That's working as intended. Dumpe2fs is reading from the superblock
on disk, and the Linux kernel is quite deliberately not updating most
fields in the superblock until the file system is unmounted.

There are a couple of reasons for this. The first is that frequent
updates of the superblock is costly in terms of wasted I/O; it
requires taking a random seek to update the superblock on disk, and
that I/O operation and throughput is better used for real work.

The second is that updating some of the fields is simply costly. It
would require taking a global lock to update the fields, which reduces
the file system's scalability across a large number of CPU cores. The
ext2 and ext3 file system (before it was removed from the kernel; the
ext4 kernel code now provides ext3 support) used to update the total
free blocks and free inodes, and this turned out to be a major
Scalability bottleneck. This is why we don't do it any more. :-)

Yes, it means that a system administrator which tries to monitor free
blocks usage using dumpe2fs won't be able to do it any more. But the
proper, and more portable way of getting that information was to use
the df command.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Boot from any encrypted partition (luks)
2. Change the used space in the partition (delete or create files so you
notice)
3. Open org.kde.partitionmanager and check that does not reflect the actually

Would like to see the size of the file in the taskbar like mspaint.exe does.

It should auto-update upon file saving, since I believe Microsoft Paint
displays the size in disk, not the actual size of the picture (you can resize

[gwenview] [Bug 452202] New: gwenview skips 3gp video when moving backwards for the first time

2022-04-02 Thread Teddy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=452202

Bug ID: 452202
Summary: gwenview skips 3gp video when moving backwards for the
first time
   Product: gwenview
   Version: 21.12.3
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: report...@mailna.biz
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug
symbols.
See
https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have these 3 files in same directory:
'a (1).3gp'
'a (1).JPG'
'a (1).png'
2. Double click on 'a (1).JPG' to open it with gwenview
3. It will open the picture and display at the bottom "2 of 3"

OBSERVED RESULT
If you hit right arrow, it will go to "3 of 3" and then to "1 of 3" as
expected.
However if you hit left arrow to go to previous after opening "2 of 3", it will
skip the video and go to "3 of 3" then "2 of 3" and repeat that in loop. Only
after hitting right will lead to "1 of 3" to be ever displayed.

EXPECTED RESULT
Detect properly existing files.

Home and End are set by default to first and last, this is why i recommend

This is a request to make Page Up/Down as default for next/previous, alongside
with arrow right and left, because although arrows are the default for this,
when playing video they are used to seek the video instead.

[krusader] [Bug 429903] New: Toast notification shows more processed files than available

2020-12-01 Thread Teddy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429903

Bug ID: 429903
Summary: Toast notification shows more processed files than
available
   Product: krusader
   Version: 2.7.2
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krusader-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: report...@mailna.biz
CC: krusader-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

There are 151 files, 115 sub-folders, including top-level folder which I want
to tar.

I tar that folder to another mount point: File -> Pack... -> To archive tar ->
to another mount point.

Toast displays progress bar ongoing then suddenly gets full and shows:
Packing File(s)
Processed files: 251/121

While files are still copying.
