[plasmashell] [Bug 464797] Plasma crashes and reloads when clicking on the panel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464797 --- Comment #1 from Tommaso Fonda --- I am not 100% sure it has happened when clicking on applets too, although I think it has. It definitely happens "often" when clicking on program icons in the task manager (today, 5 or 6 times in a few hours of usage). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 464797] New: Plasma crashes and reloads when clicking on the panel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464797 Bug ID: 464797 Summary: Plasma crashes and reloads when clicking on the panel Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.26.5 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Icon Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: fondatomma...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 155631 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=155631=edit journalctl log SUMMARY In the past few days I've experienced quite a bit of Plasma crashes (the panel disappears, the desktop wallpaper becomes black, and then Plasma starts up again and the panel and the wallpaper come back). The windows I have open are unaffected (they stay open). This happens randomly, after I interact with the panel for any reason: I just had one of these crashes while starting Firefox by clicking on its icon in the panel. Yesterday I faced the same crash while clicking on the battery applet, if I recall correctly. Attached is (what I believe is) the relevant part of journalctl. Thanks. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click on a program's icon in the process manager (icons only version) located on the panel OBSERVED RESULT Observe that the program starts or its window is focused if it is already running, but the panel sometimes crashes and the desktop wallpaper becomes black. EXPECTED RESULT The program starts or its window is focused if it is already running, without having the panel and the wallpaper to crash. [plasmashell] [Bug 422111] Battery applet not showing up in tray.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422111 --- Comment #88 from Tommaso Fonda --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #85) > For the other people experiencing this, are you also using tlp? Nope. Actually, I have used it for a long time without ever experiencing this issue, and recently I uninstalled it and started using tuned instead. It was around this time that I first started experiencing this issue (I know this is probably a coincidence, but I am reporting it for the sake of completeness). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 422111] Battery applet not showing up in tray.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422111 Tommaso Fonda changed: What|Removed |Added CC||fondatomma...@gmail.com --- Comment #83 from Tommaso Fonda --- Lately, I have been experiencing this issue very often on my setup: openSUSE Tumbleweed, Plasma 5.23.5, KDE Frameworks 5.90.0, QT 5.15.2, Wayland. While in the past years it happened very rarely (the battery icon in the tray would sometimes disappear after leaving the charger plugged in for some time, after reaching 100%), now it happens very often, and not only when charging. I log into my session, and the battery icon is already missing. Adding the "Battery and Brightness" object to the panel works as a workaround (I get the separate, bigger battery icon with the percentage in the panel, but outside the system tray). Let me know if you need any additional piece of information/log/file/etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I don't know, some openSUSE guy actually suggested that it could be an upstream bug. (In reply to Aleix Pol from comment #2) > which flatpak version do you have over there?
