[plasmashell] [Bug 359480] Plasma crashes when switching desktops

2016-02-25 Thread Vince Radice via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359480

IT looks like Plasma crashes when I close an application like Firefox and not
when I change desktops.

What debugging packages do I need to install to get the proper info?

Also, would a memory dump be of any help? If so, how do I create one?

Created attachment 97270

Backtrace from Plasma crash

I get the backtrace but a message box popped up that said more packages needed
to be installed. There was a button in the message box to get the packages but
the box dissappeared before I could click the button.

Which debug packages need to be installed? I have a lot already installed but
obviously I am missing some. I think I have seen the option to create the
backtrace by clicking the Developer tab. Is that the right one?

[plasmashell] [Bug 359480] New: Plasma crashes when switching desktops

2016-02-16 Thread Vince Radice via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359480

Bug ID: 359480
Summary: Plasma crashes when switching desktops
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.4
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: vhrad...@cfl.rr.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

I have 12 virtual desktops defined. When I switch from one desktop to a
different one Plasma will crash sometimes. I have not been able to determine
what is different between the times it crashes and the time it switches and
does not crash. I read through the problem descriptions and I don't think any
match my error.

Fedora 23 64 bit
Plasma 5.5.4

If more info is needed, please tell me how to gather it.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Switch between virtual desktops
2.
3.
