[tellico] [Bug 472709] New: Video Game collection is badly named Game collection

2023-07-27 Thread Xavier Brochard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472709

Bug ID: 472709
Summary: Video Game collection is badly named Game collection
Classification: Applications
   Product: tellico
   Version: 3.5.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ro...@periapsis.org
  Reporter: xav...@alternatif.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi Robby
The Video Games collection is known in Tellico as Games collection. May be it
is usual in US to understand "video game" when one speak about "game". But in
french the direct translation of Games is "Jeux" which usually means kids games
(like toys) or board games.
But Tellico comes also with a pre defined Board Games collection. So it is a
bit confusing to remember that the Game collection is for Video Games only.

I suggest to rename it Video Games collection.

Xavier

2022-10-04 Thread Xavier Brochard

Bug ID: 459972
Summary: non breaking space prevent keywords highlighting in

Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: frameworks-syntax-highlighting
   Version: 5.98.0
  Platform: Debian unstable

 Component: syntax

Syntax highlighting doesn't work if a non-breaking space follow a keyword in
comments. However, it works well if a non-breaking space is before a keyword.
Same behaviour in code. May be this is intentional for code, but in comments
with keywords like TODO, FIXME and so on, I find this behaviour annoying.

Tested with Perl, Bash, Python and C.

To see sample cases in Perl, try this:

#! /usr/bin/perl
#
# highlighted:
#TODO
#[normal space]TODO
#[normal space]TODO[normal space]
#[non breaking space here]TODO
#[non breaking space here]TODO[normal space]
#
# not highlighted:
#TODO[non breaking space here]
#[normal space]TODO[non breaking space here]

In multiseat systems, an option to disable "shutdown options" is useful... if
it works. Otherwise, sysadmin manually check each launchers config and Krunner

Same here, except things are worse since KDE Gear 21.08. Every process in need
to list files is very very slow (`ls` in Konsole, Gwenview, Okular, …), Dolphin
window is freezed and must be killed (even if launched on /opt url for
example).

My NFS automounted share is in my home folder. Here's Dolphin BT, but dbg
symbols are not yet availables on Debian.

Similar behaviour with Calligrawords :
if NFS folder doesn't respond, Calligrawords takes a long time to launch, then
the window is empty unless the NFS is reachable.
The Calligrawords recent document list contains only 3 docs, none of them
coming from NFS.

Some additional informations to the backtrace :
It was not the first backtrace, which I couldn't copy, but a second one
launched three minutes latter.
The first BT showed a file open on the NFS share. But that file was not opened,
as the computer was just started and the NFS server was off. The file was
briefly opened (in Gwenview) several hours before and the computer was
restarted at least two times since that.

The user can't umount the NFS share, while he mounted him.

[plasmashell] [Bug 418189] Plasma freeze when systemd automount NFS shares are not mounted

2020-02-26 Thread Xavier Brochard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418189

I got similar problems with a classical NFS share that was previously mounted
(not even in the same session) and is now unmounted or server is shutdown :
Plasma looks like frozen (I guess it is just very slow).

[plasmashell] [Bug 418189] New: Plasma freeze when systemd automount NFS shares are not mounted

2020-02-25 Thread Xavier Brochard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418189

Bug ID: 418189
Summary: Plasma freeze when systemd automount NFS shares are
not mounted
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.18.1
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: xav...@alternatif.org
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Plasma freeze when systemd automount NFS shares are not mounted

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create NFS share on a second computer
2. add it in fstab with systemd automount option
3. turn on your computer
4. don't need to access the NFS share, but if you access it just umount it and
shutdown the second computer

OBSERVED RESULT
After a while clicking on Kickoff freeze the whole plasmashell (except mouse)
and nothing can be done. Turning on the second cmputer solve the problem.

EXPECTED RESULT
Nothing... Plasma shouldn't freeze

[kate] [Bug 399847] New: Plugin module to launch bash script

2018-10-15 Thread Xavier Brochard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399847

Bug ID: 399847
Summary: Plugin module to launch bash script
   Product: kate
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: xav...@alternatif.org
  Target Milestone: ---

My use case is with Perl but I'm pretty confident that it can be useful with
many other languages.

While developing in Perl, I often need to check my script with perl -c, or
reformat with perl-tidy, or copy current file with ssh, etc. Those sort of
needs can be solved with simple bash commands and scripts.

So I thought about a plugin module to launch bash script against current file,
project, folder... Don't you think that even you, C++ hackers, could benefit of
it ?

[Falkon] [Bug 386409] Add option to middle click in empty area of tab bar to reopen closed tab

On Falkon 3.0.0, any middle-click on an opened tab will close it, a
middle-click on an empty area will open a new tab, middle-clik on new tab
button will open new tab and paste the buffered text as url (with http prefix).

This is a bit confusing and lack consistency.

Additionaly, a double left-click on an empty area will open a new tab and
left-click on new tab buttons will open a new tab too. So the current
middle-click behaviour on empty area is redundant.

IMHO current middle-click options should be disabled first.
Tab re-opening is already allowed with shortcut and right-click menu,
middle-click re-opening should be optional.

Tested on :
Debian Sid
Falkon 3.0.0, official debian package 3.0.0-3
QtWebEngine 5.10.1

Please be more precise :
does it means that keys with printed accentuated letter (like é or ù) — direct
accents_—, or keys with printed accents (like ^ or ~) that you press before a
normal letter — composed accents — are not working or both ?

I can confirm that composed accents upper vowels don't work on Facebook (it
works with Firefox), while it work on consonants (like "~" + "n"). Direct
accents work too.

Typing accents with space shows briefly the accent after the sapcebar is
pressed.
