Bug ID: 415112
Summary: Blank notification appears on lid up on Wayland
Product: kscreenlocker
Version: unspecified
Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
Reporter: aidanwillie0...@protonmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
When running a Wayland session, after I raise the lid on my laptop, the login
screen appears, however, in the area of the screen where notifications are
configured to appear, there is what appears to be a notification with no
decorations, no text, and no close button. It fades eventually, but often
another one appears. This only occurs on lid up, as manually locking the screen
doesn't produce this effect. This bug doesn't occur on X11.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run a Wayland session of plasma
2. Close laptop lid
3. Open laptop lid
4. Wake screen if needed
OBSERVED RESULT
A notification without text, icons, or interactive elements of any kind appears
on the area of the screen where notifications would normally appear, fading out
after an amount of time. Afterwards, additional boxes similar to this may
appear sometimes as well.
EXPECTED RESULT
This element shouldn't be present.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.0.0-37-generic
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
My laptop is a Thinkpad T430.
