[kphotoalbum] [Bug 462864] Mouse wheel does not work properly in viewer

2022-12-11 Thread Andreas Schleth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462864

Is there newer info which packages to install to build with Ubuntu?

The data in https://community.kde.org/KPhotoAlbum/build_instructions are a bit
dated and do not work for me.

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 462864] Mouse wheel does not work properly in viewer

2022-12-11 Thread Andreas Schleth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462864

Oh my, this is one of those ...

My mouse is just a regular Logitech 2 buttons and a wheel acting as middle
button.
As I had a dead rodent recently, I even tried another mouse to the same effect
(some Chinese brand), same effect.
Same on a different machine (same system, but older cpu) and with a
right-handed mouse.

But I will check with my laptop which runs Ubuntu...
... well it runs 20.04 ... which is too old for the current build system
(again!).

So I will report back when I have updated that machine to something newer
(hoping that the update will not break all the Tuxedo drivers).

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 462864] New: Mouse wheel does not work properly in viewer

2022-12-10 Thread Andreas Schleth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462864

Bug ID: 462864
Summary: Mouse wheel does not work properly in viewer
Classification: Applications
   Product: kphotoalbum
   Version: GIT master
  Platform: OpenSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Viewer
  Assignee: kpab...@willden.org
  Reporter: schleth...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Mouse wheel only goes backwards in time when viewing images in the viewer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. find a selection of a few images in the thumbnail browser ("kphotoalbum
--demo" works fine)
2. double click on one in the middle of the selection to start the viewer
3. try the pg-up/pg-down arrow keys: they work as intended.
4. now, try the mouse wheel: turning forwards and backwards a few clicks

OBSERVED RESULT
5. each turn increment will switch to an older image regardless of direction
6. after you turned long enough you will get stuck on the first image of the
series (with the demo this is "new wave") and the mouse wheel will not change
anything anymore. (pg-down still works)

EXPECTED RESULT
Mouse wheel forwards should work as pg-up, wheel backwards should work as
pg-down.
This bug was introduced somewhere in 5.9 development. In 5.8.1 the function is
still OK.

To clarify here, just select is not enough, freeze occurs after Ctrl+C for
copying.

By - seemingly - just upgrading to 5.101.0 this seems to have improved in not
freezing endlessly anymore but just for several seconds.

Correction, should have looked at runtime version while updates were rattling

Same problem here with Plasma 5.26.3. Left click on an already running app
(icon) in the taskbar opens a new instance of the app. This happens with each
active program - not just one. Mouse over the program icon until the small
preview of the program appears and clicking on this preview works as expected.

As zellox wrote, clicking on the notification systray makes the problem
disappear here, too.

I just tried Kate and notepadqq on the latest KDE Neon and both don't remember

Thanks for the report! I checked and can confirm that I also see journald log
entries with missing PRIORITY data fields, which fully explains this problem. I
will add a further priority level "no filter" to disable priority filtering.
IMO it is more convenient to have radio buttons than to unselect multiple
levels for fast error filtering.

First of all, thank a lot for you blazingly fast response!
For X11 it works as I would expect. I guess the X11 subsystem handled this then
separately somehow? (I don't know much about the inner systems here)

Maybe another point is interesting. In my attached video, if you look at the
keyboard layout indicator when I open Konsole the second time and type the
first 'z' (at around 00:11), the indicator jumps like it updates something, but
stays at the default layout.

Presentation of bug 452445

This continues to happen for me for all applications under Wayland. I just
tried it in a freshly installed KDE Neon VM (neon-user-20221117-0714.iso, KDE
5.26.3) and could reproduce it there as well.

On my host machine (manjaro, KDE 5.26.3) I recorded a video to show the
problem. As you can see, the system does not remember that I previously set the
keyboard layout to US and starts with the default DE layout.

Have NextCloud Sidebar as Dophin Sidebr

The NextCloud web interface has realy nice features, but ordinary I would like
to work with my files offline at the file browser.

So, would it be possible to have features from the web interface within the
file browser? I'm thinking on stuff that is available at the NextCloud sidebar
like
- activity
- share
- comments
- versions

So it's possible to start this NC features not only at the web interface. It
will be also possible to start them within dolphin (sidebar).

Fix document update race conditions in model updates

The StatisticsModel requires both an updated KVocDocument and an updated
set of selected languages before being able to answer model request
correctly. This change ensures that for invalid combinations no
out-of-bounds access is performed.

Working on notebook with openSUSE LEAP 15.4. Resizing a rectangular can't be
done with arrow keys. Only moving this box in greater steps is possible. But
not with constant steps for- and backward. This functionality was given in
previous version and seems to be solved again, when using openSUSE Tumbleweed.

Small update: I'm now considering a different approach that's more similar to
the way system calls are handled. Instead of calling a dirty helper, we would
have the dispatcher call a guest-specific extension and describe memory effects
with the PRE/POST_MEM_* macros.
I'm still investigating if this is feasible and how to do that exactly.

[akregator] [Bug 458912] New: Akregator fetches old feeds and stores them in wrong news folders

2022-09-09 Thread Andreas Hencke
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458912

Bug ID: 458912
Summary: Akregator fetches old feeds and stores them in wrong
news folders
   Product: akregator
   Version: 5.21.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kontact plugin
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: andreas.hen...@mailbox.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Since about two weeks, akregator fetches old feeds and stores them in wrong
news folders. Today eg. I had to delete about 500 old (already read) feeds
stored in wrong folders. For example 198 feeds from
https://www.swr3.de/~podcast/musik/die-groessten-hits-und-ihre-geschichte/index.xml
stored in the folder forum.archlinux.de. The feeds fetched vary and the folders
where they are stored, too. Also the amount of fetched feeds vary.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Kontact/Akregator
2. Wait
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Somtime, it takes minutes or hours akregator starts fetching feeds. For the
most part the machine is in an idle state when this happens.
I observed that some folders are marked in red (no connection) but these are
not the folders where old feeds are fetched from nor stored.
This happens at different times
EXPECTED RESULT
Works normally

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Elisa on Arch KDE - by default it scans the correct director
/home/user/Music which contains subfolders with .flac files
2. On the left, for example under albums, the files aren't listed
3. Scanning the mentioned subdirectories doesn't list them either
4. Directly opening the flac files plays them correctly, incl. album art

OBSERVED RESULT
Library doesn't contain flac files

EXPECTED RESULT
Library does contain flac files after scanning

Created attachment 151228
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=151228=edit
Preliminary patch for adding NNPA support

This introduces NNPA support, but the memory effects of the NNPA instruction
are not represented correctly. In particular this means that memcheck will have
false positives as well as false negatives.
The current approach uses a dirty helper to implement NNPA. Currently, only a
single memory effect can be specified for a dirty helper, and the size is
fixed. However, the NNPA instruction behaves more like a subroutine that runs
on a separate CPU. It reads and writes various memory regions at dynamic
addresses with dynamic sizes. In that regard it might be more comparable with a
system call.
I mainly attach the patch for illustration purposes. Ideas how to do represent
the memory effects correctly are very welcome.

- it became visible in task manager during porting to Qt5/KF5 which appeared to

SUMMARY

Using default keyboard shortcut "Alt + ." to show/hide hidden files. I press
the key combination in my home dir - nothing happens. I change to some other
directory and use the shortcut - now it works. Weird! It seems that only in the
home directory switching hidden files via shortcut does not work. The menu item
works always, regardless of current directory.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. go to home dir
2. press "Alt + ." -> should show/hide hidden files (i.e. all .xxx files)

OBSERVED RESULT
nothing happens when in home dir

EXPECTED RESULT
hide/show should work as in any other directory
