I have a 14" laptop at 125% scaling. Every time I connect it to an external
screen/projector that wasn't connected before the scaling for the laptop screen

scale it back to 100% when an external screen is connected.

When in multi monitor configuration under Wayland, the resolution of the
screenshot screenshot wrong. It is lrger by the scaling factor amount.

My configuration is a laptop scaled at 125% with two additional monitors.

The attached image should be 1980x1080, not 2400x1350.

I believe this is more general issue because I have problems with blurry font

Bug ID: 458206

   Product: plasma-nm
   Version: 5.25.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR

  Reporter: firew4l...@gmail.com
CC: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Target Milestone: ---

If a user selects a static IP for a wired network and then change it to an
automatic address the static IP will be deleted. If the user then selects
manual address the list will be empty and the user must add the IP again
manually.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select Manual method for the IP.
2. Add an IP/Netmask/Gateway
3. Connect to the network
4. Change the method to Automatic, connect to another wired network.
5. Change Method back to Manual.

OBSERVED RESULT
The manual address list is empty

EXPECTED RESULT
The manual address list should retain the addresses added previously.

Don't know if it helps but i believe that updateLayoutParameters() exits when
it shouldn;t commenting out the return restores the expected behavior.

void DialogPrivate::updateLayoutParameters()
{
if (!componentComplete || !mainItem || !mainItemLayout || q->visibility()
== QWindow::Hidden)
return;
}

--- Comment #14 from firewalker  ---
It isn't like there isn't an icon for the application to choose from and
doesn;t show anything. Maybe something else is forcing the app to choose the
fallback theme instead the next relative icon? Application that comes with
their own icons will choose something else. E.g. Clementine.

Will choose
/usr/share/icons/breeze/apps/48/application-x-clementine.svg

Instead of
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64/apps/org.clementine_player.Clementine.png

no consistency. Icons that doesn't mach my theme (oxygen).

I have a windows 10 pc with some passwordless shared folders. I can access
those folders anonymously (user:anonymous, password:anonymous).

Using smbclient I can login without problems

smbclient //192.168.1.69/shared/ -U anonymous

or

smbclient //192.168.1.69/shared/ -N

The problem is with Dolphin. It asks for a password and it can't accept
anonymous. Eg. smb://anonymous:anonymous@192.168.1.69/shared/ will fail to
login and Dolphin asks for password.

--- Comment #2 from firewalker  ---
OK. I think the problem is in file kmixdockwidget.cpp.

// Now handle Multihead displays. And also make sure that the dialog is not
// moved out-of-the screen on the right (see Bug 101742).
const QScreen *screen = QGuiApplication::screenAt(pos);
if (screen==nullptr) return;

line 354 const QScreen *screen = QGuiApplication::screenAt(pos);

should change to

const QScreen *screen = QGuiApplication::screenAt(QCursor::pos());

With this change kmix seems to work OK with scale factors.

--- Comment #1 from firewalker  ---
Manually setting the scale factor, makes kmix behave as expected.

QT_SCALE_FACTOR=0.8 kmix

1/1.25=0.8

This has nothing to do with fractional scaling. Running with an integer scale
factor ha the same wrong behavior.

QT_SCALE_FACTOR=1.6 kmix

1.25x1.6=2

Bug ID: 436681
   Summary: kmix doesn't show mixer when global scaling is
enabled.
   Product: kmix
   Version: 21.04.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: KMix Panel Docking
  Assignee: es...@kde.org
  Reporter: firew4l...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When global scaling for the display is enabled, kmix doesn't show the mixer
slider when left clicking on the system icon.

I tried a fresh user profile. And kmix works as intended. Upon enabling global
scaling (System Settings -> Display and Monitor -> Global scale). The issue
occurs. In my case the global scale is a fractional number (125% or 1.25)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable Glabal scaling
2. Left click on the system icon of kmix

OBSERVED RESULT
The mixer sliders doesn't show up.

EXPECTED RESULT
The mixer sliders should show up.

2021-05-05 Thread firewalker

--- Comment #5 from firewalker  ---
No. Not only fractional. With every scale factor. It just hapens that with
integer fraction someone can use the zoom function in order to see things
properly.

The canvas size should not change according to the scale factor. Now it changes
regardless of a fractional or integer scale factor.

I can;t even login with a global scale of 200%. But using QT_SCALE_FACTOR=2 and
zooming out to 50%, the image seems OK.

But the canvas should not be zoomed when a scaling factor is used. Like in
gwenview for example.

In the attaching file you can see the same image file opened with Kolourpaint

With plasma-workspace-5.13.0-1, things got worse. In folder view mode, I can no
longer change anything in my desktop. It always starts with a black wallpaper
with the icons in rows. I can't even move the in arbitrary places. I can adjust
my desktop but it will not keep the settings.

It seems plasma-workspace-5.13.0-1 completely ignores the

  Target Milestone: 1.0

I am in a situation that I have to connect (not at once) to my laptop multiple
secondary displays (projectors, monitors, tv-sets), via HDMI or mini
Display-Port. With KDE-4 the system could remember the settings for every
display. Upon connecting it, it would choose the preferred resolution etc.

With KDE-5, the system seems to be ignorant for what display is connected each
time, and selects the latest settings. It detects the model of the display, but
it applies the resolution selected for the last display connected.
