hello,

i have tried : make the screen black (by rebooting in scale = 80% & kernel =
6.5)

these keys combination have no any effect (still black)

ctrl+alt+F1
ctrl+alt+F2
ctrl+alt+F3
ctrl+alt+F4
ctrl+alt+F6

but ctrl+alt+F6 brings to "terminal like" display, but no GUI

hello,

thanks for response

could you explain : "switch different tty"?

when the screen doesn't show anything, it can still receive command from
keyboard. e.g. i input ctrl+alt+t (from physical keyboard) it opens terminal
(even i can't see it with my eye), after that i type "shutdown now", then the
laptop shuts down / power off

those are recorded in journalctl, i assume the session is active, the CPU is
active, when screen doesn't show anything

the pattern of this case had been found : case occurs only when scale at
display setting < 100% in kernel 6.5
scale < 100% & kernel 6.5 >> problem occurrs
scale < 100% & kernel 6.4 >> no problem
scale = 100% & kernel 6.5 >> no problem

screenshot of display setting

hello,

i have issue related to display settings : the screen goes black when all these
conditions are met :

state = after booting (SDDM is fine, but after that, only black) or after
display goes sleep (after idle for several minutes)
scale = below 100% (see attached screenshot, if scale = 100%, then issue
doesn't occurr)
kernel = 6.5 (in 6.4, issue doesn't occurr)
DE = wayland (in X11, i can't set the scale to below 100%)

when issue occurs, laptop can still receive keyboard instruction (i can send
ctrl+alt+t then input "shutdown now" to turn off laptop) just display doesn't
show anything

i need to set below 100%, because some apps are misbehaving in 1366x768
resolution (that's max resolution on my laptop)

hello
i have problem after updaed to kernel 6.5, the screen goes black (doesn't
display anything), after entering password in login screen
but after i revert back to kernel 6.4 or 6.1LTS, booting is OK, no problem

here is my hardware specs : (output from inxi -Fazy)
https://0x0.st/HWrO.txt

here is output of journalctl at booting with 6.5
https://0x0.st/HOnf.txt

and here is output of journalctl at booting with 6.4 (for comparison)
https://0x0.st/HOnm.txt

i have reported this at manjaro forum :
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/kernel-6-5-doesnt-work-with-amd-a9-apu/148383/13

laptop works fine with kernel 6.4 / 6.1LTS, just i am curious why 6.5 doesn't
work (& based on my personal interpretation from journalctl output, it may
related with KDE...)

any help is deeply appreciated

[gwenview] [Bug 470159] Gwenview minimum window height is too large when editing tools are shown (accessibility, cut off, 768)

i found workaround for this case, my laptop has 1366x768 resolution screen
(then this bug occurs on gwenview)

what i did : change the resolution to 1280x720, then zoom out 80%, this will
make the screen become 1600x900 (virtually), then gwenview doesn't have this
problem anymore

how about placing the "editing buttons" on the top menu (arranged horizontally,
you can use drop down to save space)?

(now they are on the left)

(please unzip attached zip file)

hello, i think gwenview needs minor optimization in 1366x768 screen

if i maximize the gwenview window, & use crop tool, then the bottom edge of the
window, overlap the taskbar

it doesn't in occur in my other laptop with 1920x1080 screen (see
bug_gwenview_01.png)

if i hide the taskbar, then the window becomes like that, some part of the
window is "cropped" & can't be clicked conveniently (see bug_gwenview_02.png)

my system specification can be seen in system.png

thank you

[krita] [Bug 461078] When I use the layer style "Stroke" and exported as a PNG file and reduced the size the thickness of the Stroke Style lines continue same

This happens on the 5.1.5 macOS build as well.

The nature of this bug makes me wonder if the export is compositing the layers
after scaling, rather than compositing the whole image first before scaling it
to the target size. Is that the case, and if so, is there some reason for it to
work that way? That could cause issues with accuracy with alpha blending on
more complex images.

The obvious workaround from an end-user perspective is to currently save out
the image at its current resolution and then to use an external tool such as
Imagemagick to resize the final image, or doing a select all/copy merged/paste
into new image that then gets scaled down. It would be nice if the export
function did that automatically, though.
