[kmail2] [Bug 457386] New: Selecting / deselecting large portion of pasted text
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457386 Bug ID: 457386 Summary: Selecting / deselecting large portion of pasted text Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: composer Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: math...@valat.eu Target Milestone: --- ##WISHLIST## Automatically reselecting the text after pasted can be useful for larger texts. Just a simple UI improvement. Let me know if this would be nice to have. There might be a couple of use-case that slipped from my head. :) I would like to know if we can allow, in the editor of kmail, the possibility to have an automatic selection of the pasted text that have more than 1 line? For instance, when we paste a large text, we may paste at the wrong place, just a simple position error. But if the user keep typing text with the keyboard, then the editor keeps writing and deselect the text pasted just before. This should avoid deleting the pasted text. It is simple and improve the user experience. Cheers -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433819 mateMat changed: What|Removed |Added CC||math...@valat.eu --- Comment #5 from mateMat --- Actually, it is a very difficult choice and tuning to make, i think the delay should only enable the favorites to be selected quickly, but without impacting the fast category selection. [okular] [Bug 402017] Cannot save PDF when loaded file has been deleted
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402017 --- Comment #58 from mateMat --- Yes this bug is a pain, I lost a lot of work in annotations and comments yesterday. Since I am not a KDE dev and not a software developper in general, I can only give you a external observation of this nasty bug. I think it is a 2 factors conjecture that lead to this bug: 1. The okular annotation tool seems to be detected by the main instance as modifier from another program/stack. I have seen that okular is having multiple entries in the program list, this must be due to the different back-ends that run it. These back-ends should be considered as the same software in plasma/filekeeper. This might solve the problem, but the technicalities are beyond my proficiency in C.Sc. 2. The background job should look for OKULAR_KEEP_FILE_OPEN before purging /tmp files What about keeping the file in memory (/tmp) as long as okular has not closed it and if the file is detected in /tmp during a save, ask to save it in the ~/ folder. I think it is the way Preview works. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423374 mateMat changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |RESOLVED Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |WORKSFORME --- Comment #2 from mateMat --- Sure thing David, When I use them, I simply dropped the appImage into the ~/Applications folder I made and then double clicked on it. It works the first time, but the second time I double click on it it says: "The file file:///home/mathieu/Applications/LBRY_0.45.2.AppImage is an executable program. For safety it will not be started." I should have mentioned that while I was trying to enhance the mangement of these programs, I have used a ppa to manage the appimage (https://github.com/TheAssassin/AppImageLauncher), and now I have reinstalled it, and it automatically updated the symlink within the application launcher listing to match the newly updated version. So my problem is fixed, I had to reinstall the appImageLauncher package and it works fine. However while I was on Neon, last month, I did not have to install this package, the application launcher was populated with appimage without my intervention and it was working great. If you can try to reproduce the steps, without having to install this appImageLauncher it would be great, but if you are asking it this way, I assume you have tried already.
