I'm checking this again, and looks like I missed this message (in English,
which surprises me) when changing the timezone:

> Locale has been configured, but this KCM currently doesn't support auto
> locale generation on your system, please refer to your distribution's manual
> to install fonts and generate locales

So I'll close the issue since this seems to be outside of Plasma capabilities.

[kde] [Bug 477440] Language is configured as Spanish, but most menus are shown in English

2023-12-07 Thread moshpirit
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477440

--- Comment #6 from moshpirit  ---
FIXED! Just edited the file /etc/locale.conf (and maybe an unnecessary source
/etc/profile.d/locale.sh) to:

LANG=es_ES.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_MONETARY=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_NAME=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_PAPER=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_TIME=es_ES.UTF-8

But changing the timezone again from "Default (Madrid, Spain)" to "Canary
Islands (Spain)" (plus a reboot) somehow breaks some kind of configuration
setting. I needed to change it back and reboot to make it right, but it worked
only *after* the locale.conf was set as I show above, before it was just the
first line.

Hi! Thanks for replying! It happened from one day to the other, I have been
using Plasma on Arch for almost a year, and it's been working fine in Spanish.
I checked the remaining 9% is in regards with Krita, Digikam and a couple of
more apps; I'm just a regular user, but it doesn't sound to me like it should
affect the menus, or the plasmoids.

This information is probably very irrelevant but:

- This happens with both X11 and Wayland
- I remember checking something regarding an alias to LC_ALL, so just in case,
here's the reply of typing the command "locale" on the terminal:
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No existe el fichero o el
directorio
LANG=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC="es_ES.UTF-8"

Thanks for replying! [this is what it shows](https://i.imgur.com/wdkzoBo.png):
the language is Spanish ("español de España"); I shared the screenshot after
pressing "Change language" just to show this too, but I'm not modifying this

[kde] [Bug 477440] New: Language is configured as Spanish, but most menus are shown in English

2023-11-23 Thread moshpirit
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477440

Bug ID: 477440
   Summary: Language is configured as Spanish, but most menus are
shown in English
Classification: I don't know
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@openmailbox.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Sometimes the text is shown in Spanish (as it should be), sometimes in English
(for some reason).

OBSERVED RESULT
➤ Applications like Dolphin show the menus in English, and folders like
"Documentos" (Spanish for "Documents") are shown in the "places" panel as
"Documents".
➤ Plasmoids mix Spanish and English somehow (see screenshot:
https://i.imgur.com/MNbmjCJ.png).
➤ For apps like System settings, it's much trickier, since the categories are
shown in Spanish but the menus and configurations are in English (see
screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/rRAlJ70.png)

EXPECTED RESULT
Everything is shown in Spanish.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.9
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.112.0
Qt Version: 5.15.11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I tried manually modifying the language and going back to Spanish + pressing
"Apply" and restarting to see if the error persisted (it does).

[konsole] [Bug 474845] New: Blur profile setting is not preserved when changing the profile

2023-09-25 Thread moshpirit

the profile
Classification: Applications
   Product: konsole
   Version: 23.08.1
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@openmailbox.org

SUMMARY
When setting up the profiles, an option is "blur". Since there is no shortcut
to enable/disable it, I created a couple of profiles, some with blur, some with
only transparency. But when changing from a profile without blur to another
with blur, it doesn't appear.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create at least two profiles, one with background blur, one without it.
2. Change the profile from one to the other.

OBSERVED RESULT
The blur doesn't appear (or go).

EXPECTED RESULT
It should.

This is still happening to me when using:

•  LibreOffice: https://i.imgur.com/kI3ytcF.png
• Gwenview: https://i.imgur.com/uA62KvI.png
• Dolphin: https://i.imgur.com/gOStT09.png
• System settings: https://i.imgur.com/b1vTYVM.png (this screenshot shows the
resolution of my screen, just in case this helps)
• Other software like Kdenlive, KDevelop, Kate...

Doesn't happen on Firefox or GIMP.

This happens both when I maximize the windows, and they get opened maximized
already.

This is all on X11. None of this happens on Wayland.
I'm using Arch Linux, with Plasma 5.27.6. Intel graphics (Alder Lake-P
Integrated Graphics Controller) on a Lenovo Yoga slim 7i pro (with high DPI).

Kate has great variety of syntax highlights and they work great, but I love
using Markdown and I don't like using kate that much with M↓ because it doesn't
highlight some of the basic things such as italic or bold words.

I think it would be great to see bold and italics on Kate

Same here. Also, while I get the notification that the file sending failed but
I got the file (it's in ~/Downloads).

I also noticed that for Android - Android file transmission it fails for files
bigger than 200Kb it may (or may not) send the entire file. My guess(*) is that
it also depends on the Wifi connection. Maybe for larger files it may start
failing with Laptop - Android too (IRL, not just the notification).

I tried with a 180 MiB (and again with a 1.8 GiB) and got no problem (of course
beyond the failure notification).

Here are my devices:

Laptop:
- OS: Manjaro 20.1 Mikah
- Kernel: x86_64 Linux 5.7.17-2-MANJARO
- Host: 20351 Lenovo G50-70
- DE: KDE 5.73.0 / Plasma 5.19.4

Android phone:
- Host: Xiaomi Redmi Note 7
- OS: Android 10

- MIUI: 11

Android Tablet:
- Host: Samsung Galaxy Tab S4
- OS: Android 10
- Kernel: 4.4.205-18876299

My laptop and Android devices are up to date.

(*) I have no technical knowledge about this, I'm not a developer.

Yes, it is

What I mean is that when I have a maximised window and the dock is configured
to hide in this situation, I move the cursor to the side of the screen where
the dock is hidden (in this case, the left side) and, instead of showing up,
the dock shows up, hides and shows up again, therefore it's showing up and
hiding one time just because some bug or something I don't really understand).

I can share my configuration if you tell me the directory

OK I tried to see if this could also fix the avatar not been shown but it
doesn't (at least not with the PNG image ~/.face) haha I think I'll research in
a couple of days about it!

Thank you so much for your support! You've been very helpful!!

Do you mean if I have the "Breeze" SDDM theme? no, I don't, but if you mean the
plasma theme, it does work nice indeed.

I'm not sure, I'm not a developer, but this is the source code:

Bug ID: 384294
   Summary: SDDM doesn't change the custom background image
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.10.5
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_sddm
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: a...@openmailbox.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I'm using Andromeda theme and tried to change the background. I got the
Andromeda default theme and no avatar (which is a PNG). The lock screen theme
is still Breath ( preview:
https://github.com/manjaro/artwork-breath/blob/master/sddm-theme/preview.png ).

I'm using Plasma 5.10.5 on Manjaro stable (Manjaro 17.0.2 Gellivara)

Feel free to ask me any information about this issue.
