[klipper] [Bug 427724] Klipper needs a privacy mode

2020-10-16 Thread naraesk
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427724

Sure, but I don't want to clear history. :) My klipper history contains several
thousand entries and I'm regularly searching text snippets in there. I don't
want to delete this just because I'm dealing with sensitive content for a
couple of minutes. Even in a web browser you could simply do without the
private mode and instead delete the complete history each time. But you don't
do this, do you?

With "prevent new entries from being added for some time" I mean, that I'd like
to pause klipper (without having to delete the history). When paused, I can
copy text and it will not be added to the klipper history.

[klipper] [Bug 427724] Klipper needs a privacy mode

2020-10-16 Thread naraesk
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427724

For clarification: I really like klipper and use it a lot. And I have chosen a
very large history size. I use copy so often and almost unconsciously
that I don't realize how many clipboard entries can accumulate in a short time.
And for some of these entries, I don't want them to be found for weeks.

Therefore, it would be nicer to temporarily activate a privacy mode, i.e.,
pause klipper. Then you can google for Christmas gifts for your partner and
stuff until you end privacy mode. :)

But this deletes the history, doesn't it? Actually, I would not like to do
that. I just want to prevent new entries from being added for some time.

[klipper] [Bug 427724] New: Klipper needs a privacy mode

2020-10-14 Thread naraesk
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427724

Bug ID: 427724
Summary: Klipper needs a privacy mode
   Product: klipper
   Version: 5.19.90
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plasma-widget
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@naraesk.eu
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Klipper logs your selection history. Currently, it is possible to delete
individual entries. But this can be a lot of work. It would be great if Klipper
gets a private mode where no new entries are added. You should be able to
activate it via the Plasma Widget with one or two clicks.

This feature request is related to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391046.
But the private mode should work independently from private activities.

[zanshin] [Bug 397763] New: Plasma Applet for workday tasks

Feature request: It would be really nice if there would be a plasma applet for
Zanshin!

What I have in mind is a simple list of all selected tasks (e.g. workday or for
a specific context) shown directly on the desktop. For the beginning a simple
list of all task titles with a button to open Zanshin would be indeed
sufficient.

Of course the applet could be later improved in many ways: show checkboxes,
show more information about the tasks etc.

Can reproduce this on Arch Linux, plasma 5.13.4.

Noticed something strange:
When searching for "start" and clicking on the result "Starten und Beenden" it
works fine all the time.

When searching for "starten" and clicking on the same entry "Starten und
Beenden" it gives the error described above.

As far as I can tell the problem only exists for modules with a space in its
name

Thanks for your answer. I see your point about the splash screen.

>From my point of view, the current solution is not universally usefull too.

1. Open dolphin -> "Dolphin"
2. Open dolphin -> "Dolphin <2>"
3. Close "Dolphin"
4. Open dolphin -> "Dolphin"

Now, the old window is "Dolphin <2>" and the new window is "Dolphin". This is
confusing. I'd expect the newest window to have the highest number.

Already described here:
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/401744/how-to-turn-off-title-bar-window-numbering-in-kde

KDE4-Bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115540

When opening the same application twice, the title of the second window gets
"<2>" as an appendix. The appendix stays, even if the first windows is closed.
Many applications with splash screens always have the appendix, although there
is only one open window.

Therefore, it would be nice if there would be an option to reindex and update
the window title everytime a window is closed.

  Target Milestone: ---

Problem: To scroll on my touchpad I use two fingers. This always triggers the
ctrl + w shortcut for closing tabs, e.g. in chromium and dolphin. I have no
idea where this is coming from. I tride the following:

1) Systemsettings → Custom Shortcuts

There was a default mouse gesture (like a "Z") for triggering ctrl + w but it
was already disabled. There is no other gesture triggering ctrl + w

2) Systemsettings → Standard Shortcuts

By default, the shortcut for Close is ctrl + w. Changed it to "None" and
restarted dolphin and chromium. Ctrl + w as well as my unintended mouse gesture
still closes tabs

I am not sure, but there might be two bugs:
1) The gesture for triggering ctrl + w is not defined anywhere but still
working. Bug!
2) It is not possible to disable the ctrl + w shortcut. Bug!

Btw, default and custom shortcuts in general are working just fine besides this
problem

that's not very helpful. Is there any other data I can provide?

The notification I can find in the journal:

Even before collapsing the button does not work for me, btw

I'd suggest that to delete a vault the user needs to enter the name of the
vault instead of simpley clicking an Ok button. This minimizes the risk of
deleting the wrong vault by accident.

[krunner] [Bug 361010] Google Translate plasmoid doesn't work

Google Translate can no longer be used via api access (except you pay, of
course), therefore the plugins stopped working. The current version of my
translator plugin switched to other translation services and should work again.

[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 379313] New: Formated text when pasting to notes applet

2017-04-28 Thread naraesk
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379313

Bug ID: 379313
Summary: Formated text when pasting to notes applet
   Product: kdeplasma-addons
   Version: 5.9.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: notes
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@naraesk.eu
  Target Milestone: ---

When pasting Text to the notes applet, the text is often formated. E.g if the
text color or background color is changed, there is no way to change this via
the plugin. I see different ways to fix this:

1) Add an option to prohibit this formatting in the first place
2) Select formated text → Right click → "Delete Formatting"
3) Paste unformated text via Ctrl + Shift + V as it is in many applications

I would be fine every solution. However, option 3 should be implemented anyway,
since it is a frequently used shortcut.

[okular] [Bug 359319] New: Can't open files with space in filename

2016-02-12 Thread naraesk via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359319

Bug ID: 359319
Summary: Can't open files with space in filename
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@naraesk.eu

I cannot open file via clicking on them or via console if the filename or path
contains a space. There is just a popup "Could not open". However, if the file
is opened by file → open there isn't any problem at all.

See also: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=251=130914

I'm using the frameworks branch of okular. The bug was introduced with one of
the latest commits.

Reproducible: Always
