[kwin] [Bug 438002] New: Wine game (Resident Evil 5) not full screen not working on Wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438002 Bug ID: 438002 Summary: Wine game (Resident Evil 5) not full screen not working on Wayland Product: kwin Version: 5.21.5 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: smit1...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 138950 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=138950=edit screenshot SUMMARY My laptop's screen is 1920x1080. While playing this game, I often reduce the in-game resolution to 1368x768. Everything works fine on X11 (except It also sets my screen resolution which I have to manually reset but it also happens in xfce ) But On Wayland, setting resolution to lower than screen's results in game window sticking to top left corner without entering fullscreen mode. Also when pressed Alt+F3 -> more actions, Fullscreen option is disabled. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. start kde wayland 2. start Resident Evil 5 3. set resolution to lower than current screen resolution OBSERVED RESULT Game sticking at top-left corner in small size EXPECTED RESULT same as KDE on X11, game running in fullscreen SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2+kde+r196-1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I tested Xonotic by reducing its in-game resolution and it works as expected. CSGO and TF2 were also working fine in lower resolution but I don't have them installed now to test. It seems wine is doing something weird or Resident Evil 5 in particular. I don't have other wine games to test -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436813 --- Comment #3 from smit --- (In reply to smit from comment #0) > This problem did not occur when I tested 5.21.0. But I'm now on 5.21.5 and > did not checked wayland in between so cant say which version this bug > affects from. Sorry. This is not correct. I was using linu-zen(https://liquorix.net). I switched to vanilla linux-lts recently and that's when I noticed this issue. I'm again now on linux-zen and I can't notice stuttering/laggyness. Its still there if I closely look for it but its not that noticeable and it's completely gone (becomes smooth as x11) if I set Latency to the "Prefer smoother animations". So I can't say this started from 5.21.0. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Product: KScreen Version: 5.21.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: smit1...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When I connect the external monitor to my laptop and suspend it by closing the laptop lid and waking it up again by opening the lid it works as expected on Xorg but not on Wayland. On Wayland my laptop's screen is disabled. It starts for a sec and then goes black. I have to go to settings and check the "Enabled" field manually to enable laptop screen. I can reproduce this all the time. This only happens when I close the laptop lid. using "systemctl suspend" or clicking the "sleep" button works fine and does not reproduce this issue. I'm not sure if this is duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428424 cause sometimes it wont allow me to enable my laptop screen at all. When I press the "Apply" button in display settings, laptop screen starts for a second and again goes black and applications like firefox, latte-dock .. etc crashes.Kwin also crashes sometimes but restarts and wallpaper turns black. I can't reproduce this one but when It happens, I have to log back into the Xorg session and set Display settings there and then it works again in Wayland session. [frameworks-kxmlgui] [Bug 409919] [Wayland] KDE application don't remember maximization state after closing and re-opening
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409919 smit changed: What|Removed |Added CC||smit1...@gmail.com --- Comment #16 from smit --- This also happens on WayFire. KDE apps don't remember remember size but other apps like qBitorrent and thunar do. Also konsole don't follow initial terminal size on WayFire. it always opens with 138x18 regardless of initial terminal size setting. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
