I'm an Arch Linux user with KDE Plasma 6.0.5 and KDE Frameworks 6.2.0 and this
problem persists.

KMail waits until KWallet has been opened by entering the password.
Unfortunately, the DAV Groupware Resource in Akonadi does not.

Currently, I have to
- unlock KWallet by entering the password
- click away the password prompt for the DAV Groupware Resource Agent several
times
- restart the DAV Groupware Resource Agent via the Akonadi Console manually

How can I ensure that only one password prompt is opened and all other Akonadi
agents wait for KWallet?
Having to constantly restart the agent manually is time-consuming.

The access classification can be assigned in the calendar under access. This
value is either public, private, or confidential. The default value in calendar
is public.

It would be helpful if we could store these default access classification in
the settings. So there is no need to always change the standard public or even
worse, forget it and create the entry as public.

The configuration files are just hell.
Today I reinstalled Akonadi, and it's super tedious to gather everything
together.
Apart from that, there are always leftovers from programs that are no longer
used.

How about a separation according groups and products?

# Base directory for all KDE stuff
~/.config/kde/

# Program directory
~/.config/kde/$group/$product/

Examples:

# KDE accessibility applications
~/.config/kde/accessibility/

# KDE education applications
~/.config/kde/education/

# KDE games
~/.config/kde/games/

# KDE graphics applications
~/.config/kde/graphics/

# KDE multimedia applications
~/.config/kde/multimedia/

# KDE network applications
~/.config/kde/network/

# KDE office applications
~/.config/kde/office/

# KDE PIM applications
~/.config/kde/pim/

# KDE SDK applications
~/.config/kde/sdk/

# KDE system applications
~/.config/kde/system/

# KDE utilities applications
~/.config/kde/utilities/

# KDE Plasma
~/.config/kde/plasma/

For Akonadi und PIM it would be:

~/.config/kde/pim/akonadi/
~/.config/kde/pim/akregator/
~/.config/kde/pim/itinerary/
~/.config/kde/pim/kaddressbook/
~/.config/kde/pim/kalarm/
~/.config/kde/pim/kalendar/
~/.config/kde/pim/kleopatra/
~/.config/kde/pim/kmail/
~/.config/kde/pim/knotes/
~/.config/kde/pim/kontact/
~/.config/kde/pim/korganizer/
~/.config/kde/pim/zanshin/

Old programs that are no longer in use should be removed automatically.

[kontact] [Bug 472647] New: Feature: Automatic address completion from contacts

2023-07-26 Thread sourcemaker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472647

Bug ID: 472647
Summary: Feature: Automatic address completion from contacts
Classification: Applications
   Product: kontact
   Version: 5.23.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: calendar
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde-bugzi...@aschoettler.com
  Target Milestone: ---

It would be helpful if I could select the address of a contact from the address
book.

Example:
John Doe: Street 2, 002 Mars
John Miller: Street 4, 004 Saturn

If I enter the name John Doe in the Location field, Street 2, 002 Mars is
automatically suggested for selection. If I enter John, both addresses are
automatically proposed for selection and I can choose one of them.

2023-07-25 Thread sourcemaker

Bug ID: 472613
Summary: Contact photos are not visible in headers
Classification: Applications
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.23.3
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde-bugzi...@aschoettler.com
  Target Milestone: ---

In KMail, the contact photos are no longer visible in the header.
Is this a known issue?

If I change the header style manually e.g. KMail 5.2 to Fancy Headers, then the
contact photo is displayed.
However, as soon as I open/select another mail, the contact photo is gray out.

If I change the header style again, the contact picture is visible again.
At least until a new mail is selected.

exclude folders[$e]=$HOME/.cache/,$HOME/.local/share/Trash/

I tried that.
Baloo is still indexing the excluded folders.

[frameworks-kcalendarcore] [Bug 436161] New: iCalendar files with attachments are read incorrectly (file name)

2021-04-25 Thread sourcemaker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436161

Bug ID: 436161
Summary: iCalendar files with attachments are read incorrectly
(file name)
   Product: frameworks-kcalendarcore
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@aschoettler.com
  Target Milestone: ---

iCalendar files with attachments are read incorrectly and therefore the file
name is not displayed in the calendar.

Current implementation:
ATTACH;VALUE=BINARY;FMTTYPE=application/zip;ENCODING=BASE64;X-LABEL=filename.zip:

Expected implementation:
ATTACH;VALUE=BINARY;FMTTYPE=application/zip;ENCODING=BASE64;FILENAME=filename.zip:

Kontact/Calendar uses the property X-LABEL instead of FILENAME.

Is that on purpose?

[digikam] [Bug 420621] New: Automated sorting via reverse geocoding (folder structure)

2020-04-26 Thread sourcemaker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420621

Bug ID: 420621
Summary: Automated sorting via reverse geocoding (folder
structure)
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.0.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Geolocation-Osm
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@aschoettler.com
  Target Milestone: ---

If you take a lot of pictures with your smartphone, you will eventually lose
track of exactly where the picture was taken.

For digikam, a feature would be desirable that reads the geographic coordinate
of an image and thus performs a reverse search via OpenStreetMap and its
nominatim search (reverse geocoding).

The result would be an automated sorting of the images in the respective
subfolders according to nominatim search.

Example:
Hikes / Country / State / District / Sight
