If I suspend the system and then recover it, it works fine. Regarding what you
mentioned about preserving video memory, I'm not sure what you are referring
to. Where can I see that?

2024-04-30 Thread ssergio-ll
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486327

Bug ID: 486327
Summary: Black screen with Wayland and Nvidia after locking the
session.
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: 6.0.4
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ser...@iskynet.es
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I have an MSI GS75 8SE laptop with KDE Plasma 6.0.4. I have disabled the
laptop's screen and have the laptop connected to an LG 34GN850-B monitor via
Thunderbolt. In the BIOS, I have disabled the Intel card and am using only the
Nvidia RTX2060. I use Wayland on Plasma. The Nvidia drivers on my system are
version 550.78. Everything works fine. If I lock the session or leave and it
locks automatically, I can log back in without any problem. However, sometimes,
if a significant amount of time passes and I try to log back in, after entering
my password the screen turns black and only the mouse cursor is visible,
forcing me to shut down the computer and restart.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Lock the session or leave the computer so it auto-locks the session.
2. Wait a considerable amount of time.
3. Try to log back in. It will freeze after entering the password.

OBSERVED RESULT

Black screen where only the mouse cursor is visible.

EXPECTED RESULT

That I can log back into the session.

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1)
> That's extremely odd. Can you attach a screen recording that shows it?

I attach records: https://avanza7.synology.me/bugs/bug-mouse.zip

It is very curious. This happens:

1. If I quickly move the mouse to the absolute left of the screen, it does not
go to the end.

2. If I move slowly to the absolute left of the screen, it comes with jumps.

3. If I put it on the absolute left of the screen slowly and then move it up
and down, it jumps on the screen.

It is very curious. I have captured my screen to show you the bug but the
record ing in OBS Studio show mouse working fine. Where it doesn't work is on
the screen, so i have made a video with my phone so that the bug can be seen.

The same PC with windows work correctly so i have discarded a hardware problem.

It's curious. When I cannot do (double) click to open the files and folders on
my desktop, if I open Kickoff menu and then close it by clicking on the
desktop, it already lets me open files and folders on the desktop by double
clicking until after a while it returns to pass and I have to do the same.

Is it known if there is any progress on this bug?

Thanks.

[kde] [Bug 388750] New: Lagging square around mouse pointer

2018-01-09 Thread ssergio-ll
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388750

Bug ID: 388750
Summary: Lagging square around mouse pointer
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ser...@iskynet.es
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 109773
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=109773=edit
Error

Mouse pointer have lag.

Mouse pointer behaves as if it has an invisible square attached to it. This
square covers some area next to the pointer, but it is not always clear exactly
where (a link to a screenshot is shown below, please note the white square with
some text from the previous webpage displayed in that window).

This makes selecting text difficult, as one never knows where exactly the
selection ends. Also, scrolling in some windows becomes problematic, as the
pointer shadows a part of the scrollbar. When a text is being typed, one needs
to make sure that the pointer is parked sufficiently far from the text (so, to
make a long story short, this is very annoying).

(A link to the screenshot: https://goo.gl/photos/92KKGyFs3AkdxYb79)

This happen with driver propietary of Nvidia Optimus. This have workround
restart sddm after login.
