My hunch was right, it's a problem with the API

Here the Error message from the client:

You currently have access to a subset of Twitter API v2 endpoints and limited
v1.1 endpoints (e.g. media post, oauth) only. If you need access to this
endpoint, you may need a different access level

I've the same issue and figured out that there is a problem with the API

"You currently have access to a subset of Twitter API v2 endpoints and limited

That is the message I get when I try to post a tweet.
The client isn't also not fetching the timeline 
Older tweets are also not fetched
