Low gif quality

Just following up on this, today I've tried to render a gif from a few seconds
screencast and unfortunately the gif quality was pretty bad :(

I then tried with this
(https://superuser.com/questions/556029/how-do-i-convert-a-video-to-gif-using-ffmpeg-with-reasonable-quality#556031)
approach and the result was much better.

I don't know if it's possible to integrate it in a render profile, since it has
two steps

Attached the difference to compare (left: kdenlive, right: ffmpeg)

[kdenlive] [Bug 357616] Add a way to select the region of the screen to record

Hi Farid, I've been using Vokoscreen so far and it's very good, I don't feel a
need of having it integrated into Kdenlive since I can just import the video
and edit it when I need.

Thanks Wegwerf for the suggestion!

[kdenlive] [Bug 357614] New: Add the ability to export/render as gif

2016-01-06 Thread xdmx via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357614

Bug ID: 357614
Summary: Add the ability to export/render as gif
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: x...@email.it

GIF images are very useful when you have to show few steps in a tutorial on a
web page (few seconds).

It would be very useful if kdenlive allows to render the video as an animated
gif

Reproducible: Always

At the moment in the settings it's possible to set to record a region of the
screen, but it asks for the offset and size. I have no idea where is exactly
located the region I want to record and I don't event want to calculate it.

It'd be much better to have a way like spectacle/ksnapshot where you can click
a button and select the region on the screen, without having to enter any
manual number

Reproducible: Always

[kwin] [Bug 340489] All windows in KDE 5 starts glitching after some usage time

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340489

I've added the two ENV vars in .config/plasma-workspace/env/kwin_env.sh and
rebooted the system, but I still get those glitches sometimes

#!/bin/bash
export KWIN_EXPLICIT_SYNC=0
export KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0
