I see. That makes sense. 

I thought that, for a non-empty tab, closing the window (with the mouse or
Ctrl+Q) would first close it to an empty tab (or speed dial or... depending on
settings), so only doing it twice would close the window. I guess I'll have to
get used to do it via Ctrl+W instead. Thanks

How are you closing the last tab (ctrl + w?), because I am unable to reproduce
the issue with Qt5.10.1
