It seems WhatsApp is likely never going to work on Falkon because of their
awful web practices.

I have Falkon 24.02.2 installed and it still fails to load. Even though it's
based on Chrome 112 as seen in the user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko)
Falkon/24.02.2 QtWebEngine/6.6.3 Chrome/112.0.5615.213 Safari/537.36

I still have this issue.

https://web.whatsapp.com/ shows "WhatsApp funktioniert mit Google Chrome 60+"

I have already tried step to change browser id to "Mozilla..." but this did not
fix it.

I would like to follow the steps described above as a solution, but:
"Open the web developer tools" ==> where is this option to be found?

Anything else I can try?

You can make your way around their block by changing your User Agent to
"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/82.0"

I used the same User Agent to get my Gmail to work.

whatsmyuseragent.org indicates the user agent is changed.

While looking for a solution yesterday (I don't find any) it seems that other
ones have the same problem:
https://meetfranz.com/support

Don't know "what" is cleaned up here for their solution.

As I tried to remove the whatsapp cookies yesterday, it seems that the cookie
removal is broken.
At least "remove" does not remove anything.

If I change the user agent in the preferences and look at the web developer
tools for the headers used on the request, it seems the user agent is not
changed at all.
Can you please check if your browser is using the changed user agent?

>From my experience, the behaviour of WhatsApp Web is inconsistent. Sometimes
works, sometimes doesn't. The first time I experienced this error it was enough
to close Falkon and open it again. Some time after that WhatsApp Web stopped
working for several days and I decided to use a different browser just for this
site. Now that I don't need it, it works...

While attempting to solve the issue, I tried tweaking the user agent, but saw
no difference.

That means it was fixed on the whatsapp website, no changes needed on the local
side (at least with Qt 5.12.1)
