I missed a change in the screen on CTL+S because it happens only the first time after a new screen shot: the Discard button changes to Quit. But there is no dialog for a choice of directory where it should be saved, which I miss, or choice of format. Reading further in the forums, I noticed a comment about the automatic choice of .../user/Pictures as the location to save screen shoots. Eureka, there they are. But in PNG, not the more desired JPG. So this report should go to the wish list. As things stand, I'd like to go back to KSnapshot which let me put (more usable) JPG files into the appropriate directory for each domain I manage.
