I think what he wants is something like what Android screenshots can do. On
Android, you can take a scrolling screen shot by initiating the screenshot and
then you get a Capture More button or a button with two down arrows on the
screenshot. Capturing more allows you to select a larger area outside the
current view, much like you can with firefox screenshots. The double down arrow
button continually pages down and appends to the current screenshot until you
click the record button (actually acts as a stop button). This only works with
apps that support the feature, not universally, so it may not be possible for
us to implement this kind of feature entirely within spectacle.

When I drag a window to be partially offscreen and then take an Active Window
screenshot of it in Spectacle, I get the whole window. I'm on Plasma 6 Wayland.
Maybe it's an X11-only issue? Can you try on Wayland?
