now i use opensuse 42.3 x86-64 with
kde extra
kde apps 17.08.3
kde framework 5.40
plasma 5.11.3

no crash with digikam 5.8.0 pre-release bundle

digikam-5.7.0-01-x86-64.appimage build on 30-Aug-2017 works on CentOS 7.4-1708!
