In the background still thumbnails are created when closing. We have already
improved the cancel of the operation, so there is no crash at this point.

The backtrace do not indicate really where is the problem.

Did you install the debug package to be more verbose with GDB ?

Can you reproduce the problem with the official digiKam 5.9.0 AppImage bundle
that we provide ?

Can you test also with the current 6.0.0 AppImage bundle pre-release available
here :
