Snap uses a sandbox, so digiKam is only heavily restricted to the home directory. In addition, the Unbuntu Snap packages are compiled without MySQL support. Write a bug report on Ubuntu that you expect native and complete digiKam packages. Alternatively, use our AppImage. If you have problems with the AppImage, create a log from the terminal.
