Dolphin is using KDE preview plugins. With the KDE4 the Microsoft Windows
Executables plugin is part of the kde-runtime. The plugin is (probably) not yet
ported to the KDE frameworks 5. Some of the ported kde-runtime plugins are now
part of the kio-extras.

Meanwhile - Workarounds

Use the KDE4 applications - The KDE4 applications can use the KDE4
thumbnailers. The Konqueror can use the KDE4 'Microsoft Windows Executables'
thumbnailer. There is also the dolphinpart4 -

There is a third party generic thumbnailer:

. It can show the MS Windows executable thumbnails:
